Is this just speculation or have you been officially told BS2 update is no longer supported?

Unfortunatly not. I have BS Ver 1 installed and running ok, However when I try to install BS2 into open alpha using the installer linked from the page you quoted I get an error saying I need World 1.2 installed! The module installer also fails to detect that BS should be installed. I've already got the original BS installed, World 1.5 Open Beta, World 2.0 Open alpha. I'm not about to waste yet more of my SSD space to install another version of a game that will never get used. This is a real mess and should be sorted. The irony is that its the loyal early supporters of DCS who are being let down over this. It's all very well saying just buy another license. But not everyone has the spare cash, any why should they! We've payed once already.

Same problem here, all other modules installed fine, however I cannot install BS2 from as that insists that World 1.2.16 is installed. I have BS1+update 2 installed OK in the World Beta folder, seems like it is not compatible in the new Alpha. Quite why they couldn't just give BS1 +update 2 purchasers a key for BS2 is beyond me.

The new installer released today uses bittorrent to download the patch, however It is painfully slow, No doubt it will improve as more people download the update and seed, currently at 60 peers and 0.5kB/s . Seems like a step backwards at the moment.

I tried flying my first mission in a campaign (Devils Cross 1) and after about 20 mins I had a windows error pop up saying I was low on memory. A couple of minutes later the whole system hung. On rebooting event viewer showed the following error

All sorted now. D:\Users\XXX\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\options.lua

any ideas...?

Ahh, seems to have got the screen res incorrect. Having just got a new monitor Old was 1920x1200 new is 1920x1080, now just have to find which config file to edit...

Hi, Thanks for your effort guys, quick question/problem. I'm in the options screen, having just set all controllers up and there is no exit button. How do I get back to the Main menu. Thanks

Hmm interesting, I just looked at my 'Account history' in the 'Profile' section of the DCS site and there is no mention of my purchase of A10 Beta or the original Blackshark. I wonder how this will work. Tom

how on earth have you used up all eight activations already? On your other thread you haven't even managed to install DCS world yet.

what program are you using to hash the file? I do not understand how you can have a 31 character md5 hash,(which is identical to the correct hash but missing one character) . Sounds to me like the hash checking software is erroring and messing with the file.

I have just successfully downloaded the file from the German mirror #3 and the MD5 hash matched b9a7b814c1fe914d78c5afc643cf05c8

clearly the file is ok, however the hash shown on the web page is possibly incorrect, if you only change one bit in the file you would get a very different hash, not a single character difference. Edit: its odd that MD5 hashes are usually 32 characters long however the one that you say you generated is only 31, what program are you using to verify the hash? Tom

Hmm Chrome saying file is malware.... Hi, I just downloaded Tacview127Setup.exe from Clouddrive, and Chrome labeled it as malware and refused to download it. I assume this is a false positive, however is there a MD5 hash anywhere

Hi I Just had a strange flight, I was testing out my new GTX780, so not flying seriously, just messing about. After Engine startup at Vaziani I request taxi, wait for response and then taxi to runway threshold. meanwhile my number 2 decides to turnaround and buggers off on his own. I see an f15 rolling down the runway but decide to request take off anyway. I was surprised to receive the go ahead rather than the usual hold message. So I decide to start my take off anyway. Expecting to get an abort message. When I get airborne I immediately see two A10s on finals on a collision course with me. So whats a guy to do? I aim for them of course. One of the A10s looses it whilst trying to avoid me and I get the 'you have commited fratricide' message. Whats up with the ATC in version 1.2.7.23803 dopy ATC.trk

Really good missions, well done... However.... The other night I flew the new missions, in the Blackshark for the first time (I usually fly Huey or A10 and the first flight Pitch autopilot failed within five mins, RTB and re-spawned... Second flight Yaw autopilot failed within 5 mins. Third flight Hydraulics failed after 20 mins Fourth flight Pitch Autopilot failed after 2 mins... Gave up. Could you please fire the Blackshark groundcrews, they are obviously not working hard enough.

I have encountered the same thing on the =WAR= server. Some groups of Russian tanks based around FARPS are indestructible, and whats more you can't even lock onto them with Mavericks or Vikhrs.

There are two versions of that campaign. one is for use with the A10 only and allows you to use f10 to order the units forward when you have cleared the area. The other version is for use with Combined arms an addition to A10. You have to order the units forward from CA after you have cleared the hostiles.

Does anyone else find the new style FAC radio hail annoying? if you have a 4 ship flight it takes an age to go through all the available armaments. Rather than adding like weaponry together and reading out a total it lists each A/Cs weaponry individually. eg. two AGM-65D, two AGM-65D, AGM-65D, two AGM 65d, four CBU97, four CBU97, four CBU97, four CBU97, Guns 1010, Cannon 1210, cannon 880, guns 1100. rather than the more expedite Seven AGM-65D,Sixteen CBU 97, Cannon. Yes that is normal, as I understand it each 'Day' in the mission has two or three possible missions. I believe the which one is flown is just random. But if you score <50 then you go back a 'day'. score=50 you fly the same 'day' again, and if you score >50 you progress to the next 'day'. I'm not totally sure but I believe that's how it works. Tom

There are two more versions of Georgian Hammer campaign on the DCS site. Both have ramp starts as standard. The first is much the same as the one included in DCS World. The second is modified to utilize Combined arms in addition to Warthog.

Viper, thanks for the advice, deleting the key worked, Blackshark is working again. However I only have one activation left now :cry:.

The problem is that the protect.exe wont allow me to activate the program, it just comes up with the following error: 'Unable to run the application. The product license was deactivated on this computer. To obtain an error report and send it to product technical support, press the corresponding button.'
