  1. Hi Deadman,

Just curious, did you design your Shapeway DDI and MPCD display bezels for a specific monitor / display?

    If so, which one?

Also, Did you do the Heading Course Box for the MPCD? Is it available on Shapeways? I'm not seeing it if it is.

Thanks and great work on the design. Top notch as usual!

  2. Hi PeneCruz,

You're doing great with your cockpit!!

Where did you source the Alubond composite panels from and what size (thickness wise) did you use for the Glare Shield? What did you cut it with> A Jig Saw?

    Keep up the great work!

  3. Nice work Deadman,

I like your approach for the less costly switches, as this hobby is already way to expensive.

Do you by chance have a Shapeways printed MPCD or DDI panel that you could post some pictures of, to show the actual detail?

    The renders look great!

  4. HI Guys,

    Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays,

Here’s a few updates on my F-16C CAD Plans and a HUGE DECEMBER ONLY Sale Pricing event.

I have updated the F-16 Aces II Ejection Seat CAD Plans to the Generation 5 Series, so that it now includes the options needed to build the Ejection Seat for the A-10C, F-15C/D/E, F-16C, F-22, and the Bombers B1 and B2.

With the F-16C CAD Plans, I have also reworked the Loft for the Rib Stations and Canopy Sills, to integrate better and be more accurate while being easier to build.

From an available “KITS” standpoint, I have purchased a Shop Saber CNC Router which should be here in Late January or February 2020. I will be Offering FULLY CUT OUT AND READY TO ASSEMBLE KITS, with worldwide shipping. These will be for each of my CAD Plans (P-51D, F-16C, and the F/A_18C). I am currently working on the F-14 and the Spitfire and their CADS Plans and Kits will be available soon.

Pricing to get a complete cockpit kit cut out will be available within about 60 days. I can tell you it will be well below what the CNC Router shops offer, and well below what I have charged in the past to get a kit cutout from a 3rd party vendor. They are CRAZY Expensive! I will also offer custom items so you can get your cockpit exactly as you like it. Stay tuned for more news on this.

If you own my F-16C CAD Plans, then one item you will need is the Vacuum Formed Seat Back and Bottom. These were designed to fit my CAD plans perfectly and I have been selling them for about 10 years. The last group of them sold several years ago. I just ran a new set of Seat Backs and Bottoms, but they are in limited quantity and will go super-fast. If you’re interested in getting them, please send me a PM ASAP as they won’t last long.

The price for the ABS “Black” Vacuum Formed Aces II Seat Backs and Bottoms is 195.00 plus shipping. Just shoot me a “PM” or an email with your shipping address, and I will get you quote that includes shipping with damage insurance ASAP. If you don’t have my email address, just PM me. Here are some pics. The Seat Back and Bottom are Black ABS.

  5. Hi Sk000tch,

Check the links in the post above I made.

    It has links to builds.

I also do custom work, if you want something more generic that suits multiple flight platforms.

Let me know if I can help.

I've been back and forth contemplating what I want to do. I fly the 18 more than anything, but that might sway to the 16, but still fly the harrier and a-10 plenty, and of course the huey, ka-50, or sometimes older jets. So what kind of pit do you build?

I'm 100% VR... don't think i've ever even played DCS 2d. Actually, never played a sim at all outside training until little over a year ago

But I know I don't want to hunt around for key combinations, I can't pause because I am almost always online or small group of RL buddies. But trying to come up with a universal cockpit is difficult. And, i hate crappy controls... i've learned that much. I don't want to fly a helo without a cyclic/collective, or a f-16 without a SSC.

I've looked around a bit and there are a few turn key builders, in addition to dogfightboss there is viperwing. There stuff is spendy as well, and tailored to specific airframe.

That white f-16 one from viperwing is sick looking. I've chatted a bit with realsimulators and they are awesome. Whatever I end up with I want out of my office and into my movie/game room. I've got tiered theater seats and a bar there I don't want some homemade MDF monstrosity. My divorce was expensive I don't want to ruin it.

Stang I saw your post before and the plans are very thorough... I haven't seen any completed builds though. WOuld be helpful to see.

  6. Thanks Spitty for the kind words.

You metal work is at the Master level for sure.

If you guy have not seen his work, you're missing out. Seeing how his day job is working on real aircraft and world war II aircraft...his hobby work is no different from his "real" parts work. They are 100% spot on and accurate. Check his threads and you'll be amazed. He's the Master at Craftsmanship.

Yes its not fun building a part twice as the first time it didnt fit..I still make errors every now and them but try fix them quickly..

Not only does it have t fit,it has to look correct and most importantly it has to work.

Stang does amazing CAD work.My throttles are based off his plans and they work.
