  1. I was thinking about the drag penalty of all three external tank. Seems highly unlikely it would be capable of Mach 2+ but like you said who knows what the thrust/drag numbers are.
  2. Was really surprised I could get to Mach 2 with external tanks at 12k alt. This isn't correct right? Done with MiG29S and A version. Pics and Trk of the S model. MiG29speed.trk
  3. Can confirm the bug still exists. I recently installed DCS after 7 years away. Was a bit confused at first as I didn't know about this bug. It is disappointing that it hasn't been fixed after all this time. I noticed it when doing a control surface check on a free flight mission I created with 2m/s wind speed at ground level.
  4. I use the Instant Action Mig 29A landing mission at Sochi to test. Prior to the latest patch I had to turn off core 0 for the game to run smoothly in MT (ST had no issues) otherwise I would get huge drops in framerate when approaching the runway threshold, during touchdown and rollout. After the latest patch the game runs a whole lot better and now, I only get a few (1-2 sometimes 0) small drops in framerate (noticeable but playable). Switching to F10 map and other views causes a big freeze or significant loss in framerate. In that respect it's still not as smooth as turning off core 0. However, the performance during flight is a major improvement over the previous version on my old system with only four cores (I5 7600k). Whatever tweak ED did for the latest patch worked really well. Hopefully the next patch gets it to run as smooth as turning off core 0.
  5. Thank you. I just got back into DCS. Was running a GTX1060 3Gb card and settings were on medium-low. I had stutters but I thought it was just my old gpu being the culprit. Well I went and got a RTX4060 8Gb card and chucked it in today. To my disappointment it wasn't the big jump I was expecting and the stutters seemed really bad compared to the GTX 1060. I looked around on the forum and someone mentioned setting the cpu affinity removed the stutters in MT. I tried it out by unchecking the cpu 0 box. No more stutters and now I can use DLSS. Game looks/runs great even on my very old i5 cpu. Hope it helps.
  6. RIP Saddened by the news. I really admired him! "Wings of the Luftwaffe" one of my favourite WWII books
  7. For real??? why am I flying russian jets
  8. Heatseeker will give no warning and will not show up on your TEWS.
  9. I miss my MiG29 although I must say learning how to fight in the Su27 with PFM isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Prior to the PFM I never touched the 27 and only flew the MiG 29 cause it had R77s. I don't know if I can go back to the 29 unless it gets PFM. Guess it will be a while yet.
  10. Ki 84 to fight against the P 51 would be so sweet for me. Alas
  11. :doh:Groans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:pain: :poster_ban: just kidding about the ban emoticon but still groaning!
