  1. I've made a post a while ago complaining about this but no help so far. Its a problem within BS. I use the logitech with flight simulator X and it works fine. Also, the problem is very unstable, I mean, sometimes it works more or less ok, other times its a complete disaster, I cant even hover at take off. I've experimented with various sensitivity settings and use the litle joystick window (crtl+enter) and I can see the dot is always jumping arround :(
  2. There are things I really enjoy about this sim. I like scripted missions and an dynamic warfield. The frontline changes acording to your actions, you see your troops advancing or being decimated. Also, to me, this is the best flying sim I've played. "War" comes as an extra. Enemy AI might be low but I think SAM's are extremely effective, unlike other games were I would just hit "Flare" or "chaft" and get away with it. Also, the heli damage model is perfect. The wingman AI could be improved... I've come to the point were I only let my wingman have some fun after AA's have all been taken down and to designated targets. Sure, he is dumb, but the game would probably be too easy if we just said "engage air defenses" and he would go "copy" and take them out for you :)
  3. Did first mission of the Georgian Oil War Chpt 1 with no problems on a 4GB laptop with vista 64bit.... I supose the problem arrises in missions with larger maps (more memory issues)... is it really not compatible with Vista? Will it ever be? :(
  4. Just finished the CODA mission... the trick is to help the Mi-24 to stay alive because I think they destroyed the buildings on Abraham compound (i didn't, neither my wingman). What I did was to take down at least two AA's in the convoy before the Mi-24 come close to it. Then, go to the base, but atack them through the north side, where they are not concealed by trees, hiting them by far. The problem is my wingman is always refusing "atack air defenses" orders, but if you get dangerously close, he will atack them. The helicopter took of a few minutes after we took down a couple of targets and we followed it and my wingman took it down, aldo I got a good lock and fired one vikr (but he dodged it). Mission complete! However, we still had fuel and amo to go back to the base, and we did and kicked some more ass. One Mi-24 kept flying arround, he survided the mission too :)
  5. I only find rockets usefull firing medium or long rocket burst at target concentrations. Rarely gets a kill but damages lots of targets. Then use canon to finish them off. But I do have a very hard time aiming rockets!
  6. I thought the same thing through deployment campain... until the last mission (CODA), when you have to take out Abraham. Lots of SAM and AAA defenses... you really have to fly low, take cover, etc. very hard.
  7. A problem I had in one mission in clearing a mountain pass was not turning on rotor and blade de-icing switches on. At high altitudes, like snowy mountain peaks, you'll need to turn these switches.
  8. Thank you starbird. Unfortunatly I believe the problem is really my logitech joystick... I've installed the latest drivers from logitech site... something is wrong. I'm halfway through the first campaign, I know how to fly the thing... I now monitor the joystick input through the RCTRL-ENTER indicator and even when I'm not touching the controller it keeps sending random messages... it never is 0-0 centered on x-y axis even when I'm not touching it, it always has a large Y value and when I trim, it just nose dives. Also, it keeps adding rudder to the right (x) and I have to twist it alot to the left to keep it still. Its some kind of lotery, sometimes it works fine, but other times, as soon as I take off, the heli just goes beserk... :(
  9. thank you, I had the same problem!
  10. Hi! I have a logitech force 3d pro (i bought it the day I got black shark). Well, I always had problems flying the heli, very unstable, if I release the joystick it would always bank very hard or just flip backwards or fordwards, taxing was very dangerous... two days ago I played without my joystick and it was very smooth. The autopilot worked perfectly in routing mode. Of course, I can't really play this game without a joystick but it seams unreasonably hard to play with one... so, my obvious conclusion was the joystick is the problem. I've set a "Dead zone" of 20% already, and I'm with 35% sensitivity... but its very unstable still.. Does anyone know what are good settings for this joystick? Or is this a triming problem?
  11. Hi. Been away from PC games for years, used mostly console (PS2 and PS3) for gaming. I alredy missed the good PC games that are totally unavailable in consoles, like strategy and flight sims. Looking up on the internet etc. I decided to get black shark. Got it two days ago and I'm inlove with it, but still learning alot and fighting to control the heli... Always been a fan of sims, back to the days of the Falcon F16 and Strike Eagle II (1989!) and early nineties... last time I played a sim was with Micrsosof Flight Simulator 2001... things have changed :) greetings to everyone and I hope I can get some tips sometime! ghost dog
  12. step by step training missions I suggest training missions in wich the "instructor" only gives the next instruction AFTER you complete the previous one. MSFS has this sort of tutorial implemented since 2001. You would complete a gradual step by step training program and get "exams". Like doing a perfect taxi and takeoff, destroing a target etc. etc. Its just that in the training missions suplied with the game you go very very fast on the lesson without any control, you just watch the computer pressing all the buttons. Sometimes the window is just focused on the HUD and we cant see the buttons pressed or lights.... congrats on the hard, but still wonderfull game
