  1. Thats all well and good but can you imagine how much his wife is nagging?? "Honey, I want my kitchen back and I want it back NOW! Its been 5 years!" *Disclaimer: I am not saying that women belong in the kitchen. For the sake of digging this hole any deeper I will now stop talking.
  2. Critcism is always a good thing when it is constructive. If I was outside the 159th looking in (as GG is) I would probably say the same things. Well done Spetz for your work on this, everyone has to start somewhere (even Glowing AMRAAM had to start somewhere!) The movie IS NOT intended as a recruiting tool. Rather a member of the LOMAC community (Spetz) trying his hand at making a movie (it just happens to feature the 159th).
  3. As Hi Hat has correctly stated the skins are for 159th use only Im afraid. Just a little something to give us some identity in LOMAC land. Thanks for your comments on the skins, 159th_Invicta takes the credit for updated the Su-33 and creating the 25T. We are always open to recruiting although there is a procedure in place to prevent folks joining JUST for the skin. It has been a busy RW time for us so I apologise for not being contactable.
  4. Hi All I have a question which I hope some of you ME gurus may be able to answer. If I place (for instance) an MLRS or any other of the arty systems and assign it to fire on a target at a given time, is that system able to fire again during the mission? I notice kit has reload times stated in the encyclopedia section. If the arty fires on Target One, will it fire on Target Two once the reload time has passed? Cheers
  5. I have been involved in a DIRCM trial and its a good system, the detection methods used the distinctive IR sig of a launch. As for the 'standard' detectors Crusty, the ones I work with are Very good and very reliable.
  6. Are any of the aircraft in LOMAC fitted with a DIRCM system IRL?
  7. There is the difference, of course, between spamming (8 AIM-120's in 3 seconds) and the 'ripple fire' tactic. Please note the word tactic. Spamming, in the eyes of the majority of players that I have seen, read & talked to, is annoying to say the least. It cheapens the victory of your opponent. I doubt anyone has ever congratulated them with a 'GK' message afterwards and surely that is the best compliment one can receive? An acknowledgement from your foe that, yes, you flew and fought well and deserved your victory. To be hit by a spammer, (and spare me the 'what are you doing in range anyway blah blah blah'. To avoid getting in range why dont we just sit in our cockpits on the deck eating cake all day? I like Battenburg BTW), just ruins the game for players. I'm not saying that people are unhappy about being splashed and if you think I am saying that please re-read this paragraph. The 'ripple fire' is, as stated, a recognised tactic and one used by myself and the 159th Guards when flying co-ops or online HL. I have seen a lot of RusFor players use it also. So, spam if you will though I doubt you will earn respect from your opponents and, unfortunately, you may find your list of pilots who will fly against you getting thin on the ground. Or in the air if you see what I mean.
  8. "We shall defend your right to have babies, even if he can't, which is no-ones fault, not even the Romans" "Whats the point? Whats the point of defending his right to have babies if he can't have babies?" "It is symbolic of our struggle against oppression!" "It's symbolic of his struggle against reality..."
  9. Are you talking about the realism levels we all play at or how we employ our chosen aircraft? I'm just asking so I can disagree with you early on! lol
  10. Atlantic Conveyor was sunk by an Exocet ASM. Her most valuable cargo, Chinook helicopters, went with her. I dont honestly know if she carried any Harriers. Funny how threads wander isn't it? Oh, and thats a very valid question Sharpshooter.
  11. In the Falklands example do not forget that the RAF Harrier was also employed for most of the 'mud moving' freeing the Sea Harrier for what it was built for..CAPs. Of course, you *could* argue that the RAF Harrier was never designed to operate from a Royal Navy ship...I would say the aircraft was, just not the pilot.
  12. For shots of our recent training flight look here: http://159thgdsavnregt.forumsplace.com/message12.html Our 2 newest Strike Wing pilots doing a good job.
  13. As with most things I imagine a re-write of the ground units AI would be quite a task.
  14. Totally agree! Thats why the (then) Soviets built them dirty, cheap, easy to use and LOTS of 'em! :-) But then I was talking about their amphibious qualities...not their survivability, lol.
  15. In theory you *could* operate the Ka-50 from the Adm Kuz BUT as has been correctly said it would not be a realistic deployment of the aircraft because of the corrosion factor. The comment about the WAH-64D (its correct title being the Apache AH Mk.1 in British service) being deployed upon HMS Ocean is correct altough IIRC they were modified for the deck trials (certain components and seals on the airframe were changed for anti-corrosion).
  16. I don't know about crossing the Kerch Straits but I would like to see the Russian kit be as amphibious as it built to be. The BTR series, BMP series are designed to be amphibious with built in propulsion systems (BMP's by use of their tracks, I believe the BTR has a water jet its the keyhole shaped door on the back). The MBT's are amphibious also but require some work by the crew to fit the snorkels first. There are a lot of rivers and bodies of water to effect the land battle and they become natural defensive barriers. Hmmm, NATO forces one side of a river, desperately fighting a rear guard action as Russian armour forces through the river to form a beach head under fire...
  17. The mighty Westland Lynx only at 5?? Thats a travesty of justice! Someone should fire the researcher if they think a Chinook can carry (only) 10 people!
  18. Frog & Hog having seperate ladders? Mind you, now we are just expanding things...remember K.I.S.S. And NO,, thats not an offer!
  19. X-45 here. A little stiff when new (stop laughing at the back) but a good HOTAS 'on the cheap'. If your budget is up to it the X-52 seems to have good a community rep (and has nice lights on it too....if your easily pleased lol)
  20. @ Cali, Thank you. Yes we do have a laugh and Krymsk can get busy with both Fighter Wing & Strike Wing in the air. Su-33's and Su-25T's everywhere! @ Paralyzer, Im away from my own PC this weekend so I cant post any shots until Sunday night/Monday. However, if you visit our forums there is a screenshot thread in the public section. Some pics have been lost when the site was re-worked (and I lost some when I reformatted) but there are still good ones from recent online flights.
  21. OK, I'll put some up in the screenshot thread...where else would I?? lol
  22. Gets my vote. The North Cape theatre would provide some excellent scenarios, and give the Adm Kuz her 'proper' operational area (not that Im biased...lol). Also, the North Cape would give a more plausible theatre for a NATO carrier battle group to operate...and no, thats not a cue for the 'Hornet Liberation Front' to start up! lol. Several countries in close proximity, good airbases for both NATO & Rus AF, strategic targets (ABs, submarine/naval facilities...) and a plausible (word of the day it seems) conflict setting.
  23. Not sure if this fits your plans or if you have considered this already but... For the A2G set ups, how about if the team is given a box in which to search for and destroy targets of various types. The box would have to be big enough to give good target seperation but not too big to stop players just cruising around for an hour! The box could be defined by geographical features (no further West than the River Blah, no further North than rail-line blah blah etc). Not only are the teams competing on weapons delivery skill but also in the use of their search tactics, teamwork etc to find, fix and strike the targets. A team with good co-ordination will find and clear targets quicker than a team who are cruising around dropping 500 Lb'ers on the local orphanage! I am using this set up to create some 'teaching' scenarios for our Strike Wing...but don't tell them that!
