  1. Just a thought, but couldn't you adjust this in TIR? Limit the Pitch Down to -5 degrees or so, or whatever the angle to the bottom of the canopy side is. Then zoom in so the hud is actual size on the monitor. I don't have the sim ready to go or I'd test it. Cheers, Pogo
  2. Hi, The measurement is in Millimetres and uses the European convention of using a comma instead of a period for the decimal point. Cheers, Pogo
  3. Rest assured I read everyone of your posts and they are much appreciated. Cheers, Pogo
  4. Outstanding work, as always. Thanks for all of your hard work! Cheers, Pogo
  5. Your projects are looking great! Very nice work indeed. Are you still looking at going with an Arduino based solution? Cheers, Pogo
  6. Hi Ice, Just a couple things. The stick in A-10C isn't shaped like that, a more accurate example would be as you see it in this photo- Granted, that is an A-10A, but while the grip changes in the C model, the stick doesn't. This should be far easier to bend than what you are trying to do. Also, here is a very quick sketch I did of a DIY tubing bender you could build. The important details are - The bottom disk should be the same radius as the bend you want to put on the tube. - The bottom disk should be of the same depth as the diameter of the tubing you are bending. - The top disk is fastened to the bottom disk and serves to support the sides of the tube and keep the sides from collapsing outward. You should still pack the tube as tightly with sand as you can. Try to keep the tubing from sliding or rotating as you bend it. I hope this helps. Cheers, Pogo
  7. Back in the old days we used to pack the tube with sand, bend it and then pour the sand out. of course this was with small diameter brass tubing but I suppose it could work on plastic. Just a thought. Cheers, Pogo
  8. Thanks Dimebug, great work! Cheers, Pogo
  9. Given the resources available in these forums, here is how I am dimensioning my cockpit (should I ever decide to build it). 1. Determine the dimensions of the front center (pedestal) console. This will give you the height of the bottom of the front dash. 2. Determine the dimensions of the front dash. This will give you the height of the right and left consoles. 3. Determine the dimensions of the right and left consoles. This will give you the height and width of the AcesII seat. I haven't done this exercise in great enough detail to post actual measurements that I would be confident in, but it it should work out well enough. Cheers, Pogo
  10. Actually, there is little point to that Succellus, I am definately not the market they are aiming at. If anything, I am part of a very niche market that is willing to pay for quality, while Saitek is aiming more at the mass market. Saitek, and even Thrustmaster with the Warthog, are forced to make certain design compromises to package their HOTAS' into a desktop format. It is cheaper and easier to build an analog instrument such as a VSI for the A-10C than to try to adapt one of their products, at least from my perspective.
  11. In my opinion, they are expensive and poorly documented. Given my experience with Saitek products I would just as soon avoid them. I have an X52 Pro, the Pro Rudder Pedals, The Flight Yoke and Throttle Quadrant, and while they work somewhat well, the mechanical design of the various units are sloppy at best and the SST software continuously blue-screens my Windows Vista. IO boards

Hi Flim, Just an observation, but support for the PHCC environment seems to be dying down. Especially since the development of the USB UPHCC boards have stalled. I was considering them at one point, but now I am looking more closely at the OC boards, or perhaps even an Arduino based solution depending on how ambitious I want to get. Cheers, Pogo
  13. All I can suggest is that once in-game, you bring up the axis display box using RCTRL + ENTER. This will show what your controller axis' are doing. Then use the Aileron trim to centre your aileron control. Keep in mind that even if your ailerons are perfectly centred, you may still experience some roll effect due to asymmetric load-outs and wind. If this happens continue to trim as required. Cheers, Pogo
  14. Make sure that the bars aren't stowed.
  15. Hey Trigger, I may not say much but I read and review your build thread constantly. I just want to wish you and yours the happiest of holidays! Cheers, Pogo
  16. Outstanding! Thank you Cheers, Pogo
  17. Very nicely done! Cheers, Pogo
  18. If memory serves, the rotation does control the volume in the sim. I distinctly remember turning down the volume of a TACAN's ident code.
  19. Hassata, I am running Vista 64bit and have tested this on both a single monitor and a second monitor and it runs with no problem. I am not sure of what version of D3D file I have but it is from the current DX runtime distribution on the MS DirectX download page.
  20. One option that I am considering in my cockpit design is a Pico Projector like this one. http://www.amazon.com/3M-78-9236-7713-8-Pocket-Projector-MPRO120-33LBS/dp/B002NZG4BE/ref=pd_cp_e_1 This technology could be very useful for HUD projection. I am also considering using it in a rear projection setup for the MFDs and possibly the RWR, since I haven't found any LED or LCD solutions that don't mess up the main A-10 instrument panel layout. There isn't a lot of wiggle room for using 9" LCD screens for the MFDs.
  21. Very nice work! I'll be trying this out. Cheers, Pogo
  22. Yeah, I've had issues with the driver in 64bit vista where windows would see the throttle unit but not the joystick. A Windows update and a Driver re-install seemed to clear it up.
  23. So if you click on the X52 column for an action in the configuration screen and click on add, it doesn't detect and add the HOTAS button that you press?
  24. I am assuming that all of the buttons and axis work in the Windows game controller panel? Make sure you have the proper aircraft selected in the FC2 configuration panel. Is it just the buttons that don't work or are joystick axis not working either? Cheers, Pogo
