  1. I think Vulkan will still take a while to come and before that, we will get a DLSS implementation this year. If you remember the 2023 and beyond video, it had a text saying that it was recorded using DLSS. I think the build used for that video was based on DX11. Otherwise the text would have said something like "recorded with Vulkan" too. We've been getting a major patch each year with engine features and I suspect the next big one is going to come with DLSS. We are still probably a year or more away from Vulkan and this is something that can ease the wait with interim performance gains. Let's see what near future brings us
  2. Sorry but I disagree. I don't know any way to refute the claim that no game can run DLSS in DX11, other than mentioning an example (I purposely didn't name it to avoid breaking any rule). It's Impossible to discuss some things without talking about the world outside of DCS. We will get DLSS at some point probably later this year, before DCS moves gets Vulkan because it can run on DX11.
  3. The big civilian flight sim I will not mention here has DLSS available in DX11. DLSS3 is only available in DX12, but that's a different animal.
  4. For me VR pilot body is a must. I never fly without it. Immersion is a driving factor for me in DCS and when I play in general.
  5. I think they said rencently that the big remaining taks for the Supercarrier are tied to the implementation onf Vulkan. So I wouldn't expect any big updates this year.
  6. I don't expect any supercarrier updates. in the roadmap they released a few months ago they stated that Prifly and ready room aren't coming until Vulkan is released.
  7. Looks great! I wonder how Wadi Rum mesh will look like.
  8. That's exactly what I'm doing with great results in the other sim, running it at a resolution much higher than the native res of my G2 with OpenXR Toolkit. I can't wait to have DLSS in DCS to do the same
  9. It would be great to have some of the static radars on the island and mast animated, They are there, but they are frozen. I guess there's a number of animated parts limitation in the engine or something. Also, it would be great to have some signal flags and day shapes hoisted. It's typical to see the restriced ability to maneuver day shapes during flight ops on a carrier. Thanks!
  10. I think they mentioned recently this would finally come in the next big Tomcat update, but some more precise news would be greatly appreciated.
  11. At least for me, it would be inmersion. I play in VR all the time and the inmersion of reading the mission briefing in a virtual ready room or watching AI flight ops from PriFly is a big plus.
  12. With Top Gun Maverick coming finally next month and it's potential to boost interest in naval aviation, I'm hoping it will bring us some of the lomg awaited new features for the Supecarrier such as the briefing room or PriFly (fingers crossed.......)
  13. I agree with that list. I know team has been working on updates for supercarrier module for some time, so hopefuly in 2022 we will see sim of them come to fruition...
  14. I was expecting a DCS 2022 and Beyond video today in the newsletter. Might be coming later in the day... Last year's one was published 364 days ago Besides that, it's great to see that VOIP is coming along nicely!
  15. I think when the new clouds were released, one of the notes of the patch was that the team is aware they need to improve their look when the Sun is near the horizon (above or below)
