Everything goes as it should even if you don't touch the arming button - that was the point of my original post. Things only get weird when you actually use the thing.
Currently, not touching the 'launcher arm' button at all seems the safest thing to do at the moment.
But it doesn't explain why the arming lights extinguish after firing only once (are the rockets no longer armed after a single firing? Should I press the arming button after every shot?)
Nor does it explain why subsequent arming causes an increasing number of trigger pulls to fire.
It is in my opinion and as far as my knowledge goes a bit incorrect label for the button. What it really does IRL it sets the sequencer mechanism of the rocket in the pod on launchers to fire the first rocket. So you need to do it before actually firing first rocket and then do not touch it. If you fire without it the sequence is messed up and it is also messed up if you reset it after you fired some rockets.

I'm not sure I'd trust the claims of an individual using an AI voice over.
Moreover I doubt that his landing technique is correct. In all manuals, training videos and RL pilots discussions that I've had. one absolutely crucial thing when touching down Mig-21 equipped with SPS is to never/ever put the throttle to idle below the SPS mark before main gears touch the runway. Closing the throttle before touchdown as he says it would result in a very hard landing/crash and IRL would be considered outright dangerous unsafe. In the landing video he is smashing the Mig on the runway like there is no tomorrow for the airframe

Oh, I haven't read this, but anyway I hope that some FM tweaks will be coming, at least camera shake on the ground or mach tuck camera shaking will be corrected.

It would be, if the flight model was up to PFM standards - but it isn’t: it’s “just” AFM so would require quite a bit of work.
And even then both MiG-29 and F-15C already had PFM and still require (-d) further refining.
I think they are going to update the flight model to PFM standards for the updated frog. But as far as I know and have a lot of experience with current Su-25, its basic flight characteristics are quite well done and it can be flown by the book. I suspect mainly ground handling, suspension modeling and some areas around the edge of flight envelope would need some work.

I think that FF Su-25 is really a low hanging juicy fruit for ED. With updated 3D model and cockpit there is not that much that needs to be implemented/researched to make it full fidelity. Most of the instrumentation including RWR is done for Mi-24/Mig-29A/L-39/KA-50, weapon system is already modeled correctly. We have all navigation systems already in the game like RSBN/ARK. Flight model is basically done. Gunsight is nearly the same as in Mi-24. All the weapons are already modeled well, so I think it could be pulled off with not that much effort and I sincerely hope that also ED is thinking this way.

I agree with you all, very much needed to simulate rocket suppression, FAC, etc.

+1, this is still not implemented.

I've read books about pretty much every other conflict A-10s were engaged in, just not this one.
AFAIK, they started fielding TGPs right around that timeframe, but did so in Afghanistan first. OAF in '99 was still binoculars only, no TGP to the best of my knowledge.
So in Iraq in 2003 I would assume that they would bring lots of Mavericks, probably the last time Mavs were carried on LAU-88s, and probably only 2 per side (lower and outer rail, to prevent the inner Maverick from potentially damaging the landing gear on launch). Maybe an occasional GBU-12 to be lased from an offboard source like a Strike Eagle or a Tomcat or someone on the ground, but otherwise probably a bunch of Mk-82s, CBUs, and rockets, possibly including smoke rockets to mark targets, especially for AFACs.
But all this is just guesswork on my end.
... and wouldn't the outer rail Maverick damage optics of the TGP when carried?
-
I can confirm this, I had this happen two times already in my missions. After AI destroyed its target it went rogue flying straight and level not responding to any commands until it was properly shot down by a SAM

If you are just operating the switch ARC/RSBN then it is the correct behavior. This switch only selects what is present on the HSI if it is ARC signal or RSBN signal. The distance counter is independent on it and is connected to RSBN, so this means it always shows the distance to the currently selected RSBN navigation channel as long as you have valid signal and unless you switch the RSBN completely off by its own circuit breaker switch on the right-side panel.

Thanks Flappie, I did not know that the perspective was intentional, thanks for reporting it.

I just do not fly the Mi-24P without the voice of Petrovich. It is really painful during an attack run to watch out for the message "in range" when it appears in the corner. At least some voice overs would be great like "Fire/Missile off", "Target In range", "Target Hit", "Target Missed", "Weapons Ready", "Countermeasures employed", "Countermeasures out". Using the Hind without voice overs from the CPG makes it very unrealistic regardless of systems modeling in my opinion.

Thanks Flappie for reporting it, I saw the topic, but thought it is only about the tutorial not CCRP, let's hope it gets finally fixed soon.

This bug was reported some 8 years ago and even acknowledged. I see that some bugs are being addressed, so I will try to report it once more. Thanks for considering it.
Description:
CCRP in Su-25A will release bombs without consent immediately after pressing trigger when set to ripple and with delay. The bug does not happen when the delay is set to zero with ripple or a single bomb is dropped. The problem is related only to the non-zero delay, so there must be some small bug in the code. It does not depend on laser warm-up time. Track attached.

The standard operating for Mig-21BIS procedure is to lower full flaps at the outer marker, this means around 4-5km from the runway (speed around 360-380 km/h, radar alt at around 260-300 meters).

There's a historical precedent for this too, which Volk has alluded to. The two KA-50's that actually saw combat in Chechnaya flew with reduced Vikhr loads.
Yes, I think it would be very good for the Shark. Having 12 VIKHRs is overkill, especially for high mountain flying or less intensive COIN engagements where you have only a few dangerous/targets (AAA positions or such) as others can be engaged by unguided rockets or cannon. The report from Chechnya also mentioned that VIKHRs were used only on high value targets.

How do you tell him to scan 30 right off the nose, 7 clicks away?
I don't know, you look right 30 degrees and put the cross at a distance you think is 7 clicks and a short press petro management-forward? After that he will put targeting cross there and if there are any targets a menu will appear. I think it works quite well.

Same thing for the KA-50

It looks like your engines only take damage, if your cannon bursts are too long with the gun deblock mode. Very short burst are ok, so there should be no limit there. But I think there is no override button for launching AA-missiles at lower speeds.
There are also machine guns, but they are very weak. Even unguided rockets are better in dogfights than MGs.
De-block button probably should not have been implemented. Its use during flight is strictly forbidden (IRL career ending). The button is used exclusively on the ground for maintenance/testing of the gun's mechanisms.

But keep in mind that those photos are overexposed and it looks much different to human eye in real life than to a camera lens and from my experience I have to say that much less spectacular.

Still having this issue and haven't found a solution. I tried doing what you said but no clue what you mean as you need a good amount of right rudder on take off to maintain heading. Regular trim is working great (I have ffb stick).
The rudder won't trim when pressing the trim button, simple as that. Does this bird not have a rudder trimmer? I'm confused as I have it selected in the special menu and it's how the Mi-8 behaves. Anyone else have more insight?
I am also using FFB and indeed with FFB enabled, due to some reason, rudder trimmer is not working even when on in the special menu.

YADRO radio tuning lamp?
在 DCS: Mi-24P Hind
发布于
It is automatically tuning the radio to the frequency you are selecting. On R-828 or other older russian radios for example you select the channel and then have to press tune button to have the radio tuned to the frequency, Jadro-1A does that automatically and indicates it.
