Colliding with own bombs during a divebombing attack, bug?
Dr_Arrow replied to Spacehamster's topic in DCS 2.9
+0.1 G is certainly not slight upward pitch...You do not seem to have a slightest idea what that G represents. I think you should study mr. Newton's laws kinematics and dynamics of flight in order to understand what you did wrong. Anyway I know about a pilot who unloaded his aircraft with bombs in level flight during practice flight to some 0.8G and it nearly cost him his career as he was all set to fly a desk. -

No bug, complete pilot error. -
Is the L39 really that noisy in real-life?
Dr_Arrow replied to Spacehamster's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros
You can toggle in options settings "hear like in helmet" and after that things are a lot quieter, although you hear radio well. -
I sadly think that we won't see any Eastern aircraft from LN in some near future. Mig-21Bis was initiative driven mainly by Beczl. F-14/Viggen/Corsair/Aircraft Carrier are products for some 3-4 years to publish and support iin my opinion. Just look how much support does the Mig-21 need as a relatively simple aircraft compared to an immensely more complex F-14 with RIO. The current situation is quite sad for Eastern aircraft as there seems to be none officially being developed.

Bombs from the inner pylons cannot be dropped as singles, only in pairs. It works this way in the real aircraft.

As I build SP missions for myself, I would at least like to be able to force formation take-offs for planes. It takes 4 minutes for a 4 ship flight to depart, which is a time at which our AF wartime alert force could scramble 72 aircraft: [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCZA2CEJNKg[/ame]

FFB trim works correctly with my G-940 in L-39C/ZA and moves the stick as expected.

It seems like this bug is back in my 1.53108.79 Open Beta install. Every time I trim I get freezes/stutter.

Possible bug with releasing bombs in ZA?
Dr_Arrow replied to zerO_crash's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros
Unfortunately the manuals I have do not state why is it so. It is true that OFABs or other bombs on double hardpoints release as singles from inner hardpoints. The paired release from inner hardpoints is probably not due to weight distribution, but maybe some aerodynamic characteristics of the aircraft, I am just guessing here. Anyway the sim models bomb sequencing exactly as it is written in the manuals. -

Dr_Arrow replied to zerO_crash's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros
Certainly not a bug, according to RL manual and RL aircraft operations the inner bombs are always dropped in pairs even if the release setting is set to single. This is even backed-up a system called AOS, which secures that both inner bombs will release even if one of them got stuck, or one would release by itself. -

Jacks - for example the Krasnodar airport has PRMG only for runway 09. It is active only when the runway 09 is in use. This happens only if the wind component coming from the heading 090 is stronger than 3 m/s. Under all other circumstances, runway 27 is in use. If the runway 27 is in use as declared by ATC, PRMG for runway 09 is offline - even if you come to land on it, you won't get any indications. So in order for the PRMG to work you need to have the following conditions fulfilled: 1. The runway you are going to land has the PRMG equipment with associated channel. 2. The runway with PRMG is currently in use (active) as declared by ATC, this is determined by wind.

I've tested it more, it is caused by trim, when it is operating, as well as moving the stick, FPS drops from 60 to 20 for a second. Logs attached. My config: Intel i7-2600k @ 3.6GHz ASUS P8P67 Deluxe Kingston 16GB RAM NVidia GTX770 w/ 2GB VRAM Intel SSD 256GB Win 10 Professional 64bit Logitech G-940 Logs.zip

Yes, I also noticed this - operating trim, raising gear, or moving stick to the extremes causes stutter.
-
As far as I know it has never been operationally used or integrated with L39-ZA, it was only tested on the X-11 prototype and it is also not clear if it was integrated/wired. This X-11 with designation OK-HXA was presented with the PFK-5 photo container at Paris Le Bourgett Airshow in 1977. However, it was not the ZA, but ZO aircraft (no GSh-23 cannon). A picture can be found here, but the container is not visible: http://www.airport-data.com/aircraft/photo/000481961L.html

It is currently not possible, I hope that this feature will be re-enabled and could be selectable in take-off waypoint options/properties. Currently there is some 40 seconds delay between aircraft take-offs, which means ages when you have 2 - four ships taking off from parking. Aircraft take off in formation only when spawned directly on runway.

AP baro alt hold, as well as level hold does not work if QNH on the map is different than 760 and you adjust for it. If you don't adjust and leave it at the default 760, it works, however you fly at incorrect altitudes. I think it is a simple bug, where the feedback to the autopilot is not from the on-board altimeter with the player's QNH setting, but some "virtual" altimeter with fixed QNH setting at 760. This problem comes from the prehistoric era when Su-25T didn't have the altimeter with pressure correction.
-
I would only add to this. I also haven't found landing weights of Su-25T. But landing weight limits are very strict in IRL for SU-25. In our AF if the aircraft (Su-25K) landed with weight more than the recommended 11000 Kg and less than 12600 Kg, it had to be undergo thorough undercarriage inspection. Landing in excess of 12600 was allowed only in absolute emergency. Landings with weights between 11000 - 12600 Kg could form only 5% of all total landings. If this number was exceeded the aircraft had to go for general inspection/repairs. Landing at higher weights does not stress only the undercarriage, but also other parts of the airframe.

AI wingman landing lights always turned on.
Dr_Arrow replied to Amarok_73's topic in General Problems
I can confirm this, I hope it will soon be fixed. -
In real life - the GS-23 is not really meant to be used in maneuvering dogfights - I doubt it was ever used in aerial shooting against something else than a towed target. The aircraft's combat role is only a secondary, it was mainly designed as a trainer so the pilots would get accustomed to use the GS-23 as this is a cannon used on Mig-21/Mig-23 and other aircraft as well as to employ other munitions. PK-3 gunpods were for example never operationally used and at present the GS-23 in our air-force is exclusively used only against ground targets as far as I know.
-
It reads - PK3+GS On The Ground (PK3+GŠ Na Zemli) ... as I already wrote it is a button used only by technicians to check if the electrical firing mechanisms of the cannon GS-23 and PK-3 work, on the ground. To achieve this, the button removes all blocking mechanisms of the cannon and PK-3. This is not a button for pilots.
-
It is one of the protective measures of the AI-25TL engine to prevent surge/flame out because of GSH-23 gasses ingestion (the others are speed/AoA/G limits).
-
It is not a bug, but a feature, it works the same way in real L-39, as long as GSh-23 is correctly configured and selected and trigger depressed, the RPM goes down and RT-12 is engaged, no matter if the gun really fires or not.
