I also use high attack profile with bombs. I have also found that you can start to pull up when the CCRP timer starts to countdown. Although you have to have a good feeling for it, because if you pull too fast or too early, the bombs won't release. But, in this way I can pull up at 4000 (starting at 5k) and loft bombs from 6-7 kms of the target.

A very nice thread that I'd like to revive - as we will be getting a new model and a new campaign of Su-25. There has been written a lot about different fighter tactics and a lot about using the T-version, but vanilla Su gets often overlooked. I am still strugling with attack profile with Kh-29L, as I can spot buildings only from range of 10 km's after aquiring, firing the missile and waiting for impact I just come in to range of Manpads. Any advice here, are 29Ls viable weapon of the plain Su-25?

I think that it will be out just in days time. Training videos are out, promo video for campaign is out and with new page there will also be the possibility to buy it :)

Well at first I would set in targeting properties in ME weapons for the planes to use against targets (at every target you can set used weapons as ANY, MISSILE, BOMB...)

I wish you good luck with this venture and I hope that you will be able to get it released this year, because what is LOMAC (offline) mainly lacking for me are good campaigns - there are a few of them and because of their linear nature they do not offer much replayability.

Patch 1.13 Requested Features/Fixes List (*Merged)
Dr_Arrow replied to Colt40Five's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I hope that engine fires in Su-25 will be fixed, as usually fire in one engine means loss of the whole aircraft, even after shutting it down. -
For me, the absence of any DC generator is very problematic in LOMAC/DCS. The reason is quite simple - the lack of campaigns. LOMAC has been out there for some years, yet there are only maybe a few dozen of campaigns and only few of them offer well balanced and realistic scenarios (Red Hammer campaing comes to my mind as first). On the other hand - look at Il2 - there are hundreds of user made campaings and even many paid addons, so one can really choose what he wants. The recent campaign creation competition brought us only two campaigns, that's also saying something. The last point is that even though most of the handcrafted missions are fun, most force player to figure out the trick behind the mission and do not adhere to realistic procedures (at least that's my experience with most of the user made and even stock campaigns). DC generators tend to generate maybe a bit boring missions but not that player centristic missions. I don't think that LOMAC/DCS would need some super complicated dynamic battlefield, but also a simple well refined generator working within the constraints of mission editor would suffice. Good example of such program is RAMGEN by DoctorK that generates some nice and well laid out missions (and player can tweak them further in ME) - with bit of refinement in the area of even more randomization and a bit closer integration with the sim would be a I think a good starting solution for the lack of campaigns in LOMAC/DCS world.
-
Well I just hope that DoctorK will create a new RamGEN for FC 2.0. Because generally the whole lockon series is lacking good campaigns. Where you can download hundreds of campaigns for Il2 - for LOMAC there are maybe some tens campaigns and only a few of them are really worth it. With FC 2.0 and triggers and other randomization factors even the current RamGEN missions would be a blast to fly.

AFAIK - vanila Su-25 has the advanced flight model similar to Su-25TM.

Fantastic, DoctorK!:thumbup: Thank you very much, do you plan also some functional updates?
-
I think you have to have LOMAC installed in the default directory in program files folder. I am also not able to use my pilot in RAMGEN as I don't install games in my program files and I just enter mission debriefs manually into the program and use ramgen just for mission generation. I think we have to live with it until someone makes a new version with the possibility to select directory where LOMAC is installed.

any news here??, I love RAMGEN - it creates very good missions - often much better than the user created ones.

However, that chart doesn't say anything about weights of both aircraft. Are their weights the same or are both planes fully fueled?

Large Su25T Campaign "Foothills"
Dr_Arrow replied to ZoomBoy27's topic in User Created Missions General
Thank you very much for your work, unfortunately there are not many user created campaigns for LOMAC (compared to say Il2). Don't worry about some mildness - I prefer missions with realistic difficulty, where I can survive as I play DiD style. I just wonder how people can like difficult missions where you have to die 3 times first to figure out the only "right" approach for the mission. With Su-25/T I prefer to apply realworld tactics, the basic rules are if there are fighters - bug out, if painted by medium/long range SAM - bug out (unless you are on SEAD), try to take out ground targets from safe distance out of their engagement zone. -
I still think Kamov got the AP wrong
Dr_Arrow replied to My Fing ID's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Well, I would recommend to read this article for many posters in this thread to understand the basic concepts of autopilots and how it works in Ka-50: http://www.simhq.com/_air13/air_429a.html -
Thank you very much for the pointers. I know jpm's campaigns - but to be honest, while there are many missions - briefings, situational reports, etc. are rather rudimentary and not to par with Red Hammer, which is campaign with well thought and achievable mission goals with nice situational reports. Jpm's campaigns are fine in quantity but the ones I tried had non-existent briefings or just few words like, destroy this or this, but there is a lot of them so some may like it. I play lockon in DiD style, so I need to have good situational report of situation in campaign briefing to be able to create a well thought plan to survive in plain Su-25 :). It is also more immersive:) The ones on lockonfiles look nice though, I'm gonna try them.

Thanks for answer, I'll do it this way. Aside this glitch, it is a superb campaign. It's a pitty that there aren't many that good campaigns for the plain Su-25.
-
I know this is pretty much outdated - but I was very upset when after one hour of flying in the attack railyard mission I was just coming for landing and my plane has just disappeared :( Now I know it was probably because of Il-76 landing. Without mission success - the mission wasn't even logged in my log, so that's not too much encouraging.
-
Thanks for answers, I'll stick with T-frog then. With lower loads and keeping the speed up it sure can pack a good punch:)
-
Maybe a dumb question - but what is C/pi ?

I've read older topics about making Su-25TM flyable. It's been said by Alfa that there is no point in doing this, because players cannot use ground radar with SU-25TM as it is not modeled in the sim. However perfomance wise - SU-25TM is lighter by 1 ton than the plain SU-25T, which makes it reasonable to use as it could make a difference. Is this modeled when using SU-25TM as player flyable aircraft? Thank you for any answers.
