resolved Leaving the HIND-I am sad - TRIM related
CaptainBiscuit replied to sobe's topic in DCS: Mi-24P Hind
I have experience with the Mi-8 and the KA50. Flying the Mi-24 felt warmly familiar. I can imagine it'd be a bit off putting if it was your first time. -
Most games are a lot more aliased in VR. Have you tried upping the headset resolution in the Oculus app?

Hi, can you try A10c ii. If I do missions (I usually do the georgia (?) easy mission) or on a private multiplayer session, it is fine until I quit (multiplayer will crash mid flight though). A few seconds after exiting, Steam VR will crash. I will be interested to see if the AMD card changes things. As mentioned, Quest 2 on link had no such crashes so it seems to be Steam VR but whether it is Steam + Nvidia or not remains to be seen (AFAIK). Thanks for your interest!

I seem to be able to run the A10 ii until I quit the mission. I've tried the mi8 in Syria and I get a little time before it inevitably crashes. Are you using 3080?

Thanks for your help. It is probably something to do with SteamVR and the nvidia drivers rather than DCS. I can play MSFS2020 in VR with no problems and that is using OpenXR. I could try that with SteamVR as the OpenXR runtime and see if it crashes. It is only the more recent modules and maps that cause the problem: Syria and The Channel and AC10 ii. I can fly on Caucases with a Huey for hours with no problems but the A10c ii crashes it. Syria with anything doesn't last long. EDIT: just tried Syria map with the Quest 2 via link and while performance is pretty bad, there were no crashes. In conclusion, this seems to be a Steam VR and 3080 issue.

tbh it might be an nvidia driver issue with 3080 and vr. seems to be a lot of similar complaints for other games.

dcs.logJust got a very similar issue with the MI8 on Syria map. FPS VR shows pink spikes in both cases. RAM usage is at 31.5 gb which seems a lot. In both cases it seems to happen when you decide to quit the mission.

CaptainBiscuit started following Reverb G1 Blue Screen - only in A10 II! and A10 II blue screen in Reverb
-
I have been getting frequent blue screens upon starting a A10C II mission in the Reverb headset (pc is fine but DCS freezes) and can only be fixed with a restart. I have never had any issues with DCS or the Reverb until now. I had a 2070 super and now 3080 with the same issue existing on both. I have also done a fresh Win 10 install after the 3080 installation due to a separate issue. I have no trouble in the OG A10c, AV8b or f18. Searches have yielded nothing..if anyone can help, I would be very very grateful! Captain Biscuit

Thanks, I probably should have started with that one. EDIT: the SAM shows up on the radar. Thanks for the help!

Sorry, I should have mentioned I am using Chuck’s guide. I also downloaded a user made mission from the user files. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3300511/?sphrase_id=11358029 The Sidearm seemed relatively simple with few steps so I am not sure why it’s not working.

Hi, Sorry for the beginner question. I am new to DCS and the harrier module. I am trying to get the hang of Sidearms and have set up some SAMs and AA in a custom mission. However, the ECM screen does not show any contacts. I presume this means the enemy units aren't painting me with radar. I therefore cannot fire anything at them. I have been following Redkite's tutorials and Grim Reapers but to no avail. On the carrier landing mission, the Tarawa etc show up. Not sure what I am missing here. Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere. Does the fact that the RWR switch skips past the "ON" setting and straight to "volume" have any relevance?
