  1. Thanks for the nice words Kirkey! So cool to hear that you are living in the same town that Reginal Mitchel lived in! He`s Spitfire is a bitch on the ground and a lady in the air that is for sure. DCS did a fantastic job with this plane in my opinion. Must be very realistic! Taxi: The trick is to use the brakes a lot in conjunction with the rudder pedals. And you need good pedals too. After some practice this is a piece of cake. You will also get a turning effect if you use the throttle a little to get some air over the rudder. Also: check rpm "full forward." Take off: Important with elevator trim one notch down, full rudder trim to the right, and RPM full forward. Boost max 10. When these settings are correct just concentrate on keeping the plane straight with the pedals and pull carefully back at around 100 mph. ) The tail will come up without any use of elevator input. ) Hope this helps. 2. So great to hear that DSC users are following me on Facebook and also understand Norwegian Engish :-) Thanks a lot for the nice words! I made my own plans from Paul Monfortons 1/4 scale drawings and just recalculated all the measures up to full scale. I built up everything using only hobby tools. It was great fun so I hope you get more space in the future Goblin and build your own. Just take it step by step and concentrate on one part at the time. This way you won`t be overwhelmed by all the work required. https://www.monfortonpress.com/ I found Flightsim Heritage around 6 months into the build when they were making plans for computer production. Now they have these excellent plans for sale and they have built a very accurate prototype. This is a different approach than my old school making and more expencive, but you end up with a fantastic cockpit if you go for it! Lazer cutting, CNC machines and 3D printing. They helped me with the canopy. This item is so complex to make that it is actually amazing that they managed to build it. Heard that a retired airliner captain made the plug and another company did the vacum forming. Just wonder how they made them during the war without any computers... An original cockpit was not an option for me on my low budget :-) Spitfire Histories ( Robert Austin ) made these very good replica ( scale! ) controllers from 3 D parts he had constructed and printed out. Making these is a project on its own like the canopy is. Tore
  3. Just wanted to show you how good DCS can be for VR ( Oculus Rift S ) and my full size Spitfire cockpit. Maybe I can inspire others to do the same thing? To begin with my Spitfire cockpit was generic, but I realized that I had to make it all Spitfire. Especially after the great Spitfire updates from DCS during the last years. There is no problem to find all the controllers/buttons etc in VR !...and you don`t get motion sick after some flying time just like you do in the real world. Some don`t get any symptoms of motion sickness at all. It took me two years up to this level and of course this never ends. A fantastic hobby in my opinion. Only a few functions left to make. Drop tank on and off/drop and gear safety on the right side. One thing on the panel: Compressor on/off button. Found one on Ebay the other day and the seller said it was original. Then I can say I have one original part in the cockpit. :-) The scaling is nearly perfect and I`m convinced that all the other DCS planes are perfect too for a VR project like this. I have it moving in pitch and roll and also a buttkicker mounted under the chair. These things really manipulate a sim-pilot`s brain. Very cool to be honest. More information on Facebook - Spitbua- some information of it in English under "photos". Oculus Rift S. Using a lot of battery power so chargeable batteries are required. I don`t use them for anything else than centering the pilots head so there is no problems with it. Another thing is that you need a fast computer and a lot of tuning and testing before VR works good enough. It is worth the effort in my opinion. Tore
