I am still at work but once I get home I’ll change my page file for sure. It actually makes perfect sense and normally it’s always the first or second thing I try but lately my system has been having some issues with it and I’m not sure why. This is the third desktop ive bought for the sole reason of being able to play this beast of a "game" and after a month of being back in the thing, windows keeps deleting my GPU drivers and replacing them with its pathetic lil micropenis bill gates drivers. I fought them off for awhile but because there are just so many variables, and I only know a small amount knowledge on these things, eventually I lost track of where it stopped being about the drivers and AMD's software and when the other potential variables started entering the picture (if any). I can no longer hide behind the graces of newbie status, since I have been playing DCS for 3 (maybe 4) years. I've been playing flight sims since my family got their first desktop 486 PC in the early nineties; think I was about 13. Flight Sims have come such a long way, improving upon every single aspect of the genre. They've also gained a wider player base. But for some reason 2 things regarding my relationship to them have stayed the same: 1) No matter how complex and advanced and realistic they get, I still found myself obsessing over making it MORE complex, advanced and realistic for the sake of immersion. I used to fantasize about what sims would be like in the future when I was an adult. 2)For some reason, despite everything I wanted and how awesome it is that these sims met my expectations and even surpassed them, I still suck. Maybe I did better when I was a teen because i had better reflexes but also the sims back them werent nearly as complex. I loved MSFS, that strike eagle game, (the one that's like an pilot mercenary version of wing commander) Falcon 3.0 was my favorite but it was hard one even then.I spent more time with that, I got that box with the add-ons and all this other stuff that sadly does not come with any games these days. and I even printed out binders full of technical data and schematics for every single piece of hardware and military vehicle I could find in the game. I was much better at Fleet Defender! cannot get good at them, especially my favorite, DCS. Its incredible frustrating and what's more, it doesn't seem like anyone really struggles in the same way. Ive watched so called noobs fly their first missioned and to my amazement most if not all of them catch on pretty fast, making it look easy. What am I doing wrong? Here's a typical scenario. I fired up a mission on Liberation, jumped into a harrier strike group, and couldnt even get in the air. First, I missed something written very tiny on the chklist and the engine crapped out and rather than waste even more time trying to figure out what happened I stated over. Waited 14 mins for my flight's actual start time again, this time I said F it, auto start! Once I was all set I decided to make tgt pts for my JDAMs, I did that right even if it took about 30 minutes to figure it out AGAIN, I was pleased because I think i executed it perfectly albeit slowly. I decided to do a STO and rotated my nozzles/H20 chk etc, then as i began to throttle forward the jet just loses power! Why? There's just too many variables to go over so I just restart again, screw the tgt pts let's just take off i think I had already spent 2 HOURS prepping this and I just wanted to get going! I got about 20 fit in the air and then I went down in the water. This is a reoccurring thing. I have had countless sessions like that one. Every day over and over again. I must be a masochist. I do learn a little each time but isn't there some ways of making it easier? I wish I had a friend who liked flight sims, but all my friends are boring artist types and were raised by pseudo bohemian boomers to see all "video games" as mindless entertainment and "mainstream trash consumer culture." I think its these antidepressants im on. They have compromised my short-term memory i think, I cannot memorize anything unless its been repeated a million times. I think what I want to raise some cash so I can get a better controller set up. I need to rely more on muscle memory in line with a good HOTAS setup. The one I got now is so-so, its CH products 568 stick and the pro throttle. I don't really like how they feel.

Heres some more! Mosty recent crash. I actually got off the ground in one mission and was able to end the mission the right way by exiting it. Thanks guys. I looked into both things; disabled the antivirus and firewall, and i did the SLOWWW repair . Still having major problems. Sometimes it crashes right after I take off, sometimes i cant even get off the ground, sometimes i cant even load the mission without it crashing. I have the settings pretty low too. what if windows crashes your shit (like it does literally every other session - DCS's fault the other half) and you have to do a full reinstall every week? Are they ever gonna go back to letting us download their software from torrents again so it doesnt take a full 24hr day? Not to mention how inconsistent their server is. Constant drop offs. I have literally spent over 1000 dollars on this fucking program.

my hardrive was corrupted so I installed a slightly older one that had windows 7, in a last ditch attempt to try and get dcs running again. Ive included specs and my log file as attachment. I got rid of those stupid extraneous files, ran repair and cleanup again, set all my graphic settings to low and managed to last one mission just trying the new a10c 2 and trying to figure out how to use the new weapons, which was frustrating in itself because I watch ways videos and I do exactly what he says and I cant always remember every step because it's a time based instruction which means I cant always catch every little thng he mumbles. One thing I really hate about this era of flight sims is that I LIKE Manuals! I like taking my time studying the instructions and referencing the manual during game play. But the community seems to be happy making videos because the value in that is that it gets them "likes" which is fine but I miss the good old days. Maybe I should just go back to falcon BMS, atleast its completely free. The only money I spent on that sim was printing those manuals on lulu. I was happy to do it and they're beautiful. But I'm not going to give ED one more cent, I'm not. I've spent WAAAYYY too much on this program, and it's impossible. It is unfinished, buggy as hell, and it's gotten to the point where I am afraid to play it now because it makes me want to punch my screen. It's so unpleasant but I keep coming back because of the hope that MAYBE this time I'll be able to have a session in which it wont crash or bug out. Where else can I find this intense a study sim? ugh I can barely write this post because this forum keeps cracking up now. "Invalid server response"? And the repair im currently downloading is taking forever .....hours! What happen to the torrents? Is the net neutrality thing in full affect here in the states? "This deal gets worse every time......" They may only one fully mapped aircraft, the graphics are outdated but it's free and it's just as rigorous a study sim. God bless em. Sorry for venting

Thanks guys, I think that C:\Users\mikey\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts\Export.lua is something leftover from that virtual cockpit application, although I stopped using it and have cleaned and repaired dcs many times since. I have no clue why thats in there, the file has over 6000 pages but only the first has any code written on it. Not sure if thats just because wordpad isnt meant for this file or what.

I am getting close to giving up on dcs but I thought I should at least post my log to see if anyone can make sense of it. I thought I had fixed it by turning off a lot of my graphics card features and only turningup the settings to dcs to high which runs fine. I have high disp. settings but most of the anti aliasing features begin to slow things down so i usually leave them off. It was running fine finally thought i fxed it, then after 2 sessions with no CTDs I downloaded and installed DCS Liberation, and tried playing a mission from that. I also turned on some AA display effects because I thought it could take it. But maybe not? dcs.log

I've been downloading the new OB for the past 6 hours, why the @*&^#*! did they stop using torrents? 'Im assuming that's why it now takes about 30-40 times longer than before? That's not an improvement at all. Sorry I still feel like a noob after one year of playing DCS.

No doubt that those pics look beautiful but Ive been on this forum and the bms forum long enough to notice a pattern of posts like "COMING SOON: F-104 Starfighter MOD by Iron Eagle productions (its really just one incel living alone who probably went to college for 3D design or something like that and are pretty good at what they do but lack the programming skills to necessary to do all the of the other work that goes into a module. The sudden slip into Alpha bro mode and the "calling out" routine was annoying, sorry. "get laid bro" (implying that johnny cakes over here was crushing pussy at his airplane job all the time because it's so easy for him unlike us other "cucks". I doubt this guy is a real pilot- maybe he's taking a training course or something. No, I really just think that a lot of these individuals just want the respect and validation for their design chops which is fine, but don't lie.
