[solved] Help: Windows Mixed Reality Calibration (IPD)
Dunx replied to Dunx's topic in Virtual Reality
Solved. Let DCS autolaunch WMR/SteamVR itself! My original startup procesdure was... Steam > WMR for SteamVR (autolaunches SteamVR) > , DCS Changing to following procedure allows the Calibration to change DCS, and also shows the fancy ruler while in DCS... Steam > DCS (select WMR version, autolaunches WMR for SteamVR + SteamVR) EDIT: New Problem Oh boy, I hate Steam. The new startup procedure prevents SteamVR shutdown. -
Hi @Alpiinoo, this may help...

I have never been able to get the software IPD adjustment in WMR to work with DCS uising the HP Reverb (G1). It only seems to change the image in the Cliff House. I don't have anything else VR available to test. Is this normal?

Please make bushes and trees disappear after getting hit by a projectile

I love this idea. My maps would quickly show a path of stumps between the target and home base! -
With regard to point 1... just think Dymo (I'm british so hope this translates) I've sat in a lot of vehicles that have been "re-labelled", and some that just had sticky labels (prototypes). I think other language labels are perfectly fine. HOTAS... I did buy the F/A-18C grip for my WH and setup Hog and Hornet as close as they should be, however, after the Harrier and Spitfire I decided to have common commands for all aircraft (flaps, slats, lights, gear, etc). VR and muscle memory pretty much forced me to do it.

I understand this map is free and ED may eventually find time to optimise it. My main concern, from this thread, is the "You must upgrade to continue use" tone. Some of us simply cannot continue upgrading our hardware due to ever reducing availability and ever increasing costs. Most of thge DCS modules I own are still in early access. I have been steadily decreasing/disabling settings to continue using the software while waiting for their release. I know that I will soon have to stop updating DCS so that I can settle on a version that works (stable, acceptable performance, etc). This means I will never see the completion of modules I have paid for. Sadly, I have already had to stop purchasing new EA modules.

I can confirm that this was (still is?) the case with Volume Licencing and Microsoft Action Pack Subscription. It has been a while since my last hardware failure so not sure about current builds, however, last year a processor replacement forced a windows reactivation. Microsoft were happy to reset our VL/MAPS counts though.

Thanks sir, I did try reducing distances but all other settings are already low or off. Also using 60 Hz instead of 90, with forced motion smoothing. I am flying single player VR using the Hornet Free Flight mission. The multi-player server was around 17 fps near land, but the 75 players may have also caused issues. I did have slightly better frames when testing a barebones mission with the Hornet, but still a less than the 30 I am used to in all other maps (except Channel I don't own). Looking forward to the optimisations. Don't worry, Normandy was like this at release too

The FAQ states "Some FPS struggles in certain areas of them map, optimizations are on going", sadly, for me, it is when I get about 10nm from any island.

Well chaps, thread printed, I'm off to the patent office... "Mile Long Automatic Stabilised Guided Telescopic Refuelling Hose With High Visibility Stickers" ... see you in Monaco!

The codebase for Windows 11 is based on Windows 10 (aka copied and pasted). Drivers and apps should "just work this time" (tm) https://www.theregister.com/2021/06/24/microsoft_windows_11/

...but... I'm clinging to this! The shelf life of my rig has been forcibly extended.

I also have this problem in VR. The only way I found to close the canopy was with a key bind.

Progress pictures on the Eurofighter Typhoon
Dunx replied to DashTrueGrit's topic in DCS: Eurofighter
Wait, what, erm? is that the "peeping" EuroHeliTyphooFighter by Razmiltruetechgrit? -
Would really appreciate an update of the other features that have been "Subjected to Change" so that we know what our final product will look like. Until this post, the GEN-X was still on the 2021 plan.

Please make an option to turn these canopy reflections off

The CE2 reflections are quite harsh too. Don't judge me! -
Midi-Chlorian clouds, they are.
