  1. Just bought! Can't wait to fly it! Do we have an official release date yet?
  2. Correct me if I'm wrong but if it carries less tonnage shouldn't it be able to remain in the air longer?
  3. The Russian Federation debuted its 5th generation single engine fighter just outside of Moscow. The fighter has been dubbed "Checkmate" and was showcased in a Sukhoi pavilion. The UAC (United Aircraft Corporation) presented the airframe to the press and commented the Checkmate to be, "low visibility and high flight performance." aircraft and incorporating "a combat radius of 1,500 kilometers, the largest thrust-to-weight ratio, shortened takeoff and landing, more than seven tons of combat load, which is an absolute record for aircraft of this class." Russia intends to source Checkmate to eastern nations such as India and Vietnam for starters. Of course this is a few years down the road as it's first flight is expected in 2023 and deliveries in 2026. The intention of this aircraft is to be a competitive option for those who opted out of the JSF Program for whatever reason. At least that is how it appears to me. I received this information from CNN and the source link will be posted below. Feel free to discuss Checkmate and Russia's ambitions with this new aircraft. https://www.cnn.com/2021/07/20/europe/russia-checkmate-fighter-jet-unveiling-intl/index.html
  4. @zhukov032186 One wouldn't think that Russia, a global superpower and arms dealer, would be short on defense cash. I find it surprising that Russia can't fund the project further due to just funding issues. In the Eastern World, Russia is the number one power, funding less powerful nations such as NK, China, Vietnam, etc. Sure some of these countries, NK and China for example, can produce their own goods but its widely based on Russian technology. Anyways, I think Russia won't have a problem producing the Su-57 in the far future. Its just going to be a slow crawl to get there.
  5. Well, after reading all the posting in this thread I hope the Su-57 does do well despite its adoption problems that some of you have stated. It seems that with most fifth generation fighters the Su-57 is very expensive and slow to produce. The F-35 was the same way when it was introduced. So many people hated on the F-35 and look at it now, its successful. I think the Su-57 is an exception aircraft based on the limited knowledge I know about it. I think the modern Sukhois are the sexiest aircraft on the planet and very combat effective as well.
  6. Great video from RT. Full of relevant information including some juicy details comparing it to USA's fifth generation stealth aircraft. Hope you enjoy the video and feel free to discuss down below about Russia's new fifth generation fighter, which is now in service.
  7. Some of the font in the Viper is hard to read. I use a 27'' 1440p monitor as well. Getting a larger monitor should help. When I fly the A10C I can read everything fine. Seems to be a Viper problem on some of the switches. Just the nature of the beast I suppose.
  8. I'm sure it will be an improvement from your old rig. 32GB of RAM is what you should be having and that CPU you just equipped is no slouch. You should get a smoother experience than before but you are going to want to upgrade your GPU. Depending on your monitor, you should let us know what monitor resolution and refresh rate you are using, you should upgrade accordingly... 1080p = RTX 2060 Super / RX 5700 (Should be able to find in stock) 1440p = RTX 2080 Super / RX 5700XT (Should be able to find in stock) 4K = RTX 3080 / RX 6800XT (Ideal for 4K, Hard to find at the moment)
  9. So I recently bought the Huey and am having a lot of fun learning it. I figured out how to get rid of the collective and throttle indicator that is on the top left of the screen but I can't find the Crew HUD toggle on and off located on the bottom right of the screen. How do I turn off the Crew HUD? Thanks in advance!
  10. Thanks for the input, gentlemen. I do HOLD down the weapon's release switch and as the countdown comes into view before entering the piper my DSMS and TGP displays show an abort message. This doesn't happen every time so I'm unsure what I'm doing wrong but it happens enough that it is annoying.
  11. First off, let me say I'm new to the Hawg. I've learned the basics but small stuff get in the way. Sometimes when I roll in for a CCRP attack with MK82's I get "Launch Aborted" on my displays after pressing the Weapon's Release Switch. Why? Also, I forgot how to "Point Track". I use the TM Warthog HOTAS and everything is default. Any help would be appreciated.
  12. What cooler are you using? If your case supports it, an AIO cooler is probably your best option. But if you're looking to save some cash, grab a Scythe Mugen 5 air cooler. Its simple to install, affordable and it preforms well.
  13. Thanks for the warm welcome gents! Time to hop back in the Hog for more training. :joystick:
  14. Hello everyone! I'm xSCHIZO45, just call me Schizo :shifty: I'm new to DCS but have always liked flight sims. I started out in the mid-nineties with A-10 Attack for the MAC and that was a lot of polygon fun haha. Played several other sims that weren't exactly sims like F-22 Lightning 3 and the like. Too long ago to remember all of them. Now I got myself a quality PC and just bought the A-10C with the Warthog HOTAS and TrackIR5 Pro. I dabbled with the training missions and I'm still very much learning. I can see that this will take time to learn the Warthog and all her systems but that's just part of the fun I suppose. I aim to be a regular member here as I've always been quite the nerd with not much of a life. So see you guys around! Glad to be a part of the DCS Team! :bye_2:
