  1. The HIND (and HiP) have a gauge to help enter and maintain a stable hover.
  2. There is a way to take off to deal with that issue. It is called light on wheels. What you do is give it just enough power to create a bit of lift but not enough to actually lift the wheels off the ground. You observe the helicopters tendencies then compensate until it appears stabilized THEN you give it enough collective to lift it off the ground. Doing it in this matter allows for controlled take offs.
  3. I have a comment about that. You don't FLY the KA-50 you just give it polite suggestions. And no I am not trying to make some lame Yakov Smirnoff "in Russia" joke. I am DEAD serious. Most people that have issues flying the Ka50 have them because they don't truly understand how the trim system works. The are basically fighting the computer for control of the helicopter. You make course changes but the computer does it's best to return to what you actually set it at. Basically you sort of enter a "tug of war" if you will with your own helicopter. Once you learn the Ka50 it is actually the easiest one to fly. It is certainly the most stable by far. Given, I don't have much experience with the HIND yet so this may change later but as of right now I would rate difficulty from easiest to hardest as such, Ka50, Huey, HiP, Gazelle, and finally the HIND. I place HIND last because this bird LOVES (LOVES) the vortex ring. I have a LOT of experience flying DCS helicopters and the HIND is alarmingly easy to put into VRS. Really that is the only issue I have had besides drifting around a corner sending me into a rotation.
  4. Marklar would you happen to know where it mentions the correction for the magnetic declination in the Mi8 manual so that I can mark it?
  5. That still puts me off 1.525*. (6*-4.475*=1.525*) Is that avoidable?
  6. No I did not do that. Thank you.
  7. I flew the Mi8 today in conjunction with the NS 430 navigation system. The course was from Sukhumi-Babushara to Sochi-Adler (62.1NM/115.km 297*) The distance on the doppler was dead on accurate comparative to the NS 430 however the drift was off by 9km (4.86NM) to the left on the doppler. 9 kilometers!!!!! How do I correct for this deviation?
  8. I just don't recall seeing this centering problem before.
  9. The HIP rudder does not seem to be acting correctly. I do not have full right pedal. Left and center appear to be working correctly. All "special" options are unchecked. I do not have rudder trim on. No other airframe is having this issue. I am playing in OPEN BETA 2.7. This is not a hardware issue as I have tested it with 2 computers, keyboard, VKB T-Rudders Mk.IV, and Thrustmaster TPR pedals all with the same results.
  10. is this forum dead or something? I expected 20 solutions by now.
  11. I got them working now but the resolution seems off.
  12. Here is my LUA file. I seem to have the right one working but not the left. Also the right one is not centered. _ = function(p) return p; end; name = _('Practice'); Description = 'Left MFCD on the left monitor,Right MFCD on the right and camera on the center' Viewports = { Center = { x = 0; y = 0; width = 3840; height = 2160; viewDx = 0; viewDy = 0; aspect = 3840/2160; } } LEFT_MFCD = { x = 3840 + 212; y = 0; width = 600; height = 600; } RIGHT_MFCD = { x = 3840 + 1236; y = 0; width = 600; height = 600; } UIMainView = Viewports.Center GU_MAIN_VIEWPORT = Viewports.Center
  13. I need assistance setting up some view ports. The first question I have is can you set the left/right MFD view PER aircraft or do you have to do it as a monitor setting? For instance I do not want my Ka-50 ABRIS to display on a small screen. I do want both MFD's in the A-10C and Harrier to display. Here is my setup. I am using a 4KTV (3840X2160) and TWO 7 inch AMAZON KINDLE FIRE tablets (1024X600). I am not using ALL of the display on the tablets. I am only trying to create a 600X600 viewable area. I am using spacedesk software. I can get all 3 screens working but I can't seem to target the MFD's correctly. I am setting the main monitor (43 inch 4K) at X0 Y0 W3840 H2160. The second monitor (AMAZON KINDLE FIRE) I am setting at X4052 Y0 W600 H600 The third monitor (AMAZON KINDLE FIRE) is X5076 Y0 W600 H600 I have seen another tutorial where the value was +. So do I use 3840+212 (y value) to center it? (212+600 (viewable)+212=1024). X is the first vertical pixel per monitor despite any resolution of other monitors correct? I would really appreciate some sample code (per a specific aircraft if possible A-10C as an example) or better yet a copy paste for my system to help get me started. TV 3840X2160 KINDLE X2 (1024X600) (600X600 viewable)
  14. Yay, government is screwing us again........
  15. My solution was to go hybrid. I use an EDTracker for Yaw and Pitch while using a PlayStation 3 cam and a UTC MK II for X, Y, and Z. The camera used to lose tracking whenever I would look down or too far one direction, with an ED tracker I can be in the next room doing my best Linda Blair impression and still not lose tracking. I use OpenTrack to enable this HYBRID system. Here is where to get those items. EDTracker http://www.edtracker.co.uk (I could not get this to load at the time of this writing) UTC MK II https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=159647 Contact via email: vgddevices@gmail.com or PM, here on forum. OpenTrack https://github.com/opentrack/opentrack/releases MODIFIED PS 3 CAM https://delanengineering.com/shop/PS3-Camera-IR-Filter-Removed-p50254011 If you want just a camera solution here is a product on Steam. I own it but have not tested it yet. https://store.steampowered.com/app/929270/ViewTracker/ There is a FREE demo if you are interested,
  16. I have a VKB Gunfighter Mk.III ‘Modern Combat Edition’ stick and an X-55 RHINO throttle. I need mounts that will accommodate both. Any suggestions?
  17. it is all part of the new business plan to sell us a 2.0. Don't believe me? Go buy a Blackshark 3 or a Warthog 2 and get back with me.
  18. This is me to. I have so many airframes I have less than 1 hour flight time on it is not even funny. I am not buying anything new for a long time, cept the Hind...... don't you judge me. :)
  19. ........ OK then. Guess I am on my own.
  20. I would like to set up an appointment for a crash course training session. If you would like to share your knowledge please post so we can set up a time and date. Thank you.
  21. I was not able to get it to work. If you are able to please share your solution.
  22. I should start by saying I currently use a hybrid system consisting of EDTrcker (Roll, Pitch, Yaw) and a PS3 cam and a UTC MK II (X, Y, Z) for the hardware. I use OpenTrack and CL-Eye for the software. This is my preferred setup when not playing in VR. OK after that disclosure, I do have a TrackIR 4. I have tested the PS3 cam and UTC MK II with 6Dof and I found that it works just as well as TrackIR4. I can't speak to the version 5. I had 2 reasons for ditching Track IR. Number one is I got tired of TrackIR losing tracking when I look too far down or too far to the side. Going HYBRID totally solved that problem, I could not go hybrid using TrackIR as I know of no software that would allow me to do so. The second is I wanted to go wireless. Though I know you can do that with TrackIR they offer no "official" wireless IR solution, that also would not have solved the problem of losing tracking when looking too far to the side or down.
  23. $52.30 USD for the Delan VS $59.92 for the S18 , so yeah by the time you add import cost I doubt the Delan is cheaper for American consumers.
  24. OK I know why they are having that problem because I had the same issue. They need this driver which cost 2.99 USD. https://codelaboratories.com/products/eye/driver/ That being said them missing the driver does not make this a bad product though I admit it should have come with the purchase. I personally use a PS3 CAM with OpenTrack and I assure you it works as well or better than TrackIR. Also you pointed out that 25 percent gave it 1 star (which I assure you is due to the missing driver) but failed to mention that 45 percent gave it 5 stars. That is a bit disingenuous of you. There is also the issue of the company that you posted gave the price in pounds. So I am guessing it has to be imported for an American consumer. After the exchange rate and import cost I don't know that Delan would be much cheaper. Comment on that if you care to do so.
