  1. I enjoy flying the Huey quite a bit and so I wanted to a create a mission whereby I transport marines from the Tarawa to shore repeatedly. The only problem is that I haven't been able to find a way to load infantry onto the helicopter from the deck of the ship. I'm able to pretty easily allow taking troops from shore to the ship and making them disappear off the deck by deactivating their group after they disembark, but I haven't been able to get this method to work vice versa. I know about CTLD, which seems like an ideal solution, and I've tried to use it, but I've never had much luck in getting it working. It never seems to load for me. I was wondering if there was some way, however janky, to get this same functionality in the base game just through the use of triggers. Thanks in advance.
  2. this is awesome. i used the original liberation and enjoyed it, but i was kind of disappointed that it only worked for the caucasus map. i like how this not only works for every map, but it also has different time periods/eras and seasons. the ability to choose which forces are fighting and the freedom to play as either opfor or blufor is fantastic. great work.
  3. There have been so many B-17 sims in the past. I even remember some really old one, b-17 flying fortress the mighty 8th I think it was called. Even the B-17 in IL21946 wasn't too bad an experience (except having to both fly the plane and use the bombsight at the same time), but to bring the B-17 up to the quality that people expect from DCS modules would take a lot of work, especially given how complex the machine is. You couldn't take any shortcuts, you'd have to put out a good full-sim product worth the money. There are a lot of talented devs making modules for dcs and I'm sure someone could do it and I, for one, would love to see it happen.
  4. The asset pack is lacking in many regards, we can all agree on this, yet what is the most strange is that the Channel map is being released while there's only two flyable aircraft that fit the time period, that being the Spitfire and the P-47. As far as non-flyable AI aircraft go we have the Ju-88 which is limited to torpedo bombing, something almost completely useless seeing as there is only one allied ship in the entire game that is sizable enough to be attacked with a torpedo. We also have the B-17G, which is very nice and welcome indeed, as well as the A-20 which, although a strange choice, adds well to the experience. The thing is, will we ever see some actual explosive bombs for the Ju-88? Or perhaps a He-111? As it stands the German side has no capability to bomb anything whatsoever, except with the 250 and 500 pound bombs strapped one-at-a-time to the bottom of the 109/190, which is totally impractical. This limits almost all missions on the German side to defending against allied bombings by B-17's, when, given the time period, it should be the other way around. Just a thought. :music_whistling:
