  1. You tried the one I wrote? I am pretty sure it doesn't work anymore. I wrote it for DCS 1.5. I didn;t get Peter's solution to work (probably my fault) so I created a black polygon with lua...again that was for DCS 1.5 But my buddy Jabbers is currently writing a new tool that lets you setup you cockpit and generates all the exports according to your screen setup and resolutions including black backgrounds. It is far along but still WIP. Best to ask him in the splashone gaming discord if you can try/beta test the current built. cheers, WELD
  2. I do like the rotational and translational shake for flying but it makes a recording imposible to track (matchmove) properly for video content. If you could point us kindly to the lua to temporarily deactivate it? I would be very grateful! Thank you so much in advance! WELD

  4. I love the rain on canopy effect! Adds a great feeling to the experience. It looks like a lot of work went into it and ED went the extra mile to make it look as good. Why not go the last step and make it the right scale. I believe it would contribute to the scale feeling of pit, plane and environment not having 1 inch water droplets walking on the glas. But of course I don't know the reason behind it, maybe a more appropriate scale of the effect was causing a too big hit in performance which then could still be implemented as an option like display resolution?   7. To ignite the afterburners on the hornet you have to lift the finger lifts on the throttle while pushing it to maximum. Without doing that it just goes full mil power. (was added last patch) If you want to go from burner to mil power just deactivate finger lifts (assuming you have it on a switch or key unless your throttle has finger lifts like the real one) and take the throttle back for a split second out of burner and then back to 100%. cheers
  8. For a while I thought at least in FC3 planes the code is as simple as "other coalition = show as enemy". But then I had countless times getting hit in the F15 and flying back home damaged to get fired on and killed by my own air defenses on final... which implies that ED actually already has a more complicated system in place than I thought there is. Will be interesting to see where ED is gonna go with that. Would be cool though if there was a radio option to tell the airfield AI to "hold fire, my IFF is shot"... since I can't just squawk a safety code :)
  9. For those that say they don't experience that problem...is that still the case when you land on the carrier again and rearm and take off? Because that is when it happens to me mostly.
  10. I assumed its intentional and maybe like that IRL. I also had friendlies crossing my beam while I had a lock on a more distant target and they just picked up my lock onto them.
  11. Worked perfectly! Thank you so much! Took me an hour at first but the problem turned out to be something else. I had MIST loaded once,on mission start, time>1, do script file - loadM IST ...which loaded fine the night before and I could call mist commands. Last night it didn't work/load mist anymore until I set that trigger from "on mission start" to "no event". No idea why that is a problem now and wasn't before but all works great now. Thank you for your help @Zayets! WELD

  13. Yeah like I said the triggered actions should happen for at least 4 player slots for now. Being able to make part of a group or aircraft type trigger the moving zone instead of a unit should solve it.

  15. Good day gentlemen! I'm currently building a mission making use of the "unit in moving zone" condition. Inconvenience is that this forces me to make about a 100 triggers so all player slots are covered. Is there a script in any of the libraries (mist, moose etc) that is a bit less specific like "part of coalition in moving zone"? Actually since the vehicle pulling the trigger zone is of the same coalition I guess I would rather need something like "part of coalition that is type aircraft in moving zone". Even "part of group in moving zone" would be a huge reduction in needed triggers already. Thank you for your thoughts in advance! WELD
  16. Nope just drive up and hit U. Flaps half, full throttle and grab both handles top of canopy (hands off stick). Don't be zoomed in on the HUD...a wider FOV gives a more impressive perceptual speed on launch :)
  17. The camera doesn't need smoothing and motion blur would just add to the fight for FPS. There are several reasons for the different stuttering we have in DCS and motionblur wouldn't fix any of those. Regarding one kind of micro stutter...flight simulators have slow constant motion on screen and are due to that more sensitive to perfect and constant frame rate matching your refresh rate. When you manage that DCS is perfect smooth. If not then you get frame drops and motion-blur wouldn't help. The only situation I can see motion-blur adding something is when you very quickly turn your head to check your six. Then even with perfect constant 60fps it won't seem smooth because you split a 160 degree camera pan into ~5 frames. However the motion-blur effect will probably reduce your fps and consistency overall and lower your experience outside of quick head turns.

It would indeed be wonderful to think about density altitude and getting a metar of the airfield on F10 map, actually having full meaning to the altimeter setting, looking at the cloud shapes to know what the weather is changing to and anticipate convection and temperature inversion. ED has the pioneer attitude so I could imagine they gonna take on challenges like that at some point.
  20. I believe we see the same problem on Blue Flag frequently. FPS slows down to games freezes for up to 30 seconds for everyone. You can even see as forward observer that (mostly SA11)AA launches and the server orclient starts to lag. Even or especially when SA11s engage AI mig29 with multiple launches. We even started warning each other before attacking an airbase so everybody can have a nose high attitude in order to survive the incoming lag.
  21. Actually I got pretty good in blindly scrolling and clicking and waiting for the response instead of waiting. That way my plane is already half way refueled on blue flag for example once it visually assembles under me :)
  22. @Nineline I was wondering...when you load into multiplayer it usually takes a few minutes before you can move freely on the slot list and then another few minutes until the plane and the environment gets assembled below you. Is this part of the mission load management also addressed/improved in the new updates? Or more likely for you being allowed to talk about...is it being looked at? cheers, WELD
