  1. Yeah I think rudder pedals are probably required. Because when I start flying to the right, I twist the stick and it don't seem to be working. But I have a lot more information thanks to you. Need to configure the throttle as a slider. Hopefully that helps. If not, all get me some thrustmaster rudder pedals. Thank you for your support, I really appreciate it.
  2. Yeah flying the AH64D is way more complicated than I expected. My dream was to be an attack AH64D attack helicopter pilot. Probably good that didn't happen, I suck. Seems to be more difficult than a Jet Fighter pilot, that was my other dream. Well either one. But from my research it seems AH64D pilots are constantly adjusting the controls. Jeez just flying the thing is so difficult. how do they manage combat. Well I hope I can do it, its a real challenge. Just trying to get help man, this is way more difficult than I thought. I just want to fly the Apache.
  3. The X-56 does not have a slider. I use the throttle for collective. But the AH64D just spins out of control. I was told I need to yaw. But I don't have rudder pedals. Just using the stick for that. Should I use a hat switch for yaw? How do you do it? I dont have rudder pedals. Should I buy some? I just use the stick, would a hat switch be better than turning the stick on the X-56? Can't get the AH64D off the ground, it it just spins tot the right and crashes. What is your setup, how do you do it?
  4. I don't understand why ED does not provide us with a default package, for default standard military configurations. For like the X-56. Or Thrustmaster Warthog. This stuff costs a lot of money, and I think it would be fair to get a basic lua file. When you buy their cockpits. Its really confusing, and takes hours to setup. Maybe I am stupid, but this is really complicated stuff. I wish ED had a more comprehensible way of getting us setup. Just youtubing stuff, doesn't really help. I wish they had a full on training program and software packages to install to get you flight sticks setup. I mean Eagle Dynamics is a big deal. DCS is the is as good as it gets when it comes to military simulations. I wish they would acknowledge, that setting up these aircraft, especially the AH64D can be difficult and close to impossible. Without, professional help. I mean I willing to pay someone to set this up for me. It just, like you buy the cockpit and nothing works. Like I had the X-52, it was falling apart, but it worked with the F-18C. But the AH64D was not working, so I bought the X-56. Still don't work, and having issues with my jet fighters as well. My point is, I wish ED would take HOTAS configurations more seriously. So we don't have to spend hours or even day trying to figure this out. Other people got the AH64D to fly, I can't do it. It just spins out of control. I love ED very much, I just whish they had more support in getting your flight controls setup with a basic military setup. With a package. Charge me for it, all buy that! ED makes a package that is guaranteed to work on your flight sticks. The most common and modern ones. I think once you buy a high fidelity cockpit, like the F18-C, you should be able to select your flight stick. Then you get the proper configuration files for that flight stick. For all the basic functionality. In a addition to a map of the of the controls. If it means more money, I don't care. What's the point of buying an $80 dollar cockpit and have no idea how to configure it? It just takes up to much time. And if things are not working then what? Just You Tubing all day.
  5. I watched a bunch of YouTube videos, to setup the Ah64D flight sticks, for basic flight. But when I push on the throttle for collective, I just spin in circles and crash. The same thing happened with my X-52's, so I bought the X-56 thinking it would fix the problem. What am I do doing wrong? I can't get this thing off the ground. Well I do, but I immediately just shoot to the right and crash into the ground. New to helicopters, I am sure its not the controls, I am just not understanding how to fly these things. I really want to though, I really want to fly the Apache. Real bummer I can't figure this out. Please help. How do I lift the helicopter straight up, an fly? I am not using the X-56 HOTAS software, just manually configuring the controls. Is there a good .lua profile out there that I can configure the stick and throttle with?
  6. Ok, so what about the F-18C. It worked perfectly with X-52. The X-56 has duel throttle, so just check the axis commands? When I thrust forward or backward just no response. This is a high fidelity cockpit, and the X-52 is old and junk. I am just really surprised, I buy a $300 dollar flight stick and the F-18C is giving me problems. I know how to configure it. The F-16C works perfectly, probably because it has only one engine. So that is a clue. I have the Thrustmeter warthog as well, which is also duel throttle, I wonder if it would cause the same problems. Plus the Axis commands for throttle are weirdly reversed on the X-56. I dunno, $80 bucks for the cockpit and $300 for the flight stick, and the aircraft doesn't work right with just basic flight out of the box. Maybe the X-56 sucks. And for the Ah-64D, I can't it to work, oh well. Thinking about hiring someone to come to my house and configure this for me.
  7. The X56 has the dual throttles, but why would this happen on the X52 regarding the AH64D? Is the AH64D even a stable product, its nothing like other Eagle Dynamics products, the graphics are really bad and it just simply does not work. That's why I upgraded my flight sticks. The K-50 Shark works fine. All ED products rock, the F18C is amazing, and the F16C. I mean can anyone actually fly the AH64D? It seems half baked. I can't get the thing off the ground. Is there a profile I can use? But from the X52 I would use the slew profile, then manually make my config in DCS. This is a real bummer as the X52 worked, with everything except for the AH64D. Then I got the X56 and its really cool. My X52 is super old and don't work so good. Now nothing works. Except for the F16C. I spent a boat load of money on this stuff, so it would be nice to get a solution. I wish ED, would have a install package when you buy a cockpit. I know this is complicated stuff. But, if it could recognize your HOTAS and configure it via military grade configuration that would be AWESOME. It takes so much time to figure this stuff out. I just want to fly and blow stuff up.
  8. I bought the Open Beta and the Steam Version. I upgraded to the Logitech X56. I setup the controller to the tee on the official YouTube channel for DCS. But when I use the collective the helicopter just fly's to the right and then pins to the ground. I don't know what to do. I spent like $500 bucks on this sim, new controller and bought the two versions. Open Beta and Steam. I can't get any altitude on the helicopter it just spins to the right and the just smashes into the ground. It is weird, as soon as the sim starts the Helicopter feels really unstable. This happened on the X52 and X56. And on another note, I had the X52 and that worked perfectly with the F-18C, with the X56, the throttle rolls the aircraft. I can't figure out why its doing that. The F16C works fine. Please help.
  9. Bummed it did not come out today. Really bummed.
  10. I heard VR reduces the graphics. And it is hard to keep that thing on your head for a while. I want TRACKIR 5. Its bomb. Its what all the DCS Squadrons use. VR is for now a gimmick.
  11. Angle of Attack (AoA) So awesome!!!!! https://www.skybrary.aero/index.php/...of_Attack_(AOA) I still dont get it, in combat. I just have a hard time considering angle of attack in combat. I admit, I don't study all this complicated stuff. About (AoA). Not sure if its relavent. In combat. I die all the time in the first mission of the campaign. If I keep playing, I am sure I will progress, but, kinda sucks I have no idea what I am doing.
  12. I was asking the same thing...are you a real fighter pilot? I wonder if, being a real fighter pilot makes DCS super easy. Even in multiplayer. I wonder if they just dominate. Problem is if we are not real fighter pilots and they are, how are we supposed to not die insantly? We cannot take them on. Us lonely gamers. Trying to learn everything about how to fly and use our cockpit effectively. We could never match them. Question is, how many real modern fighter pilots play this simulation/DCS? WellI would not mind going up agains tthe best. It would be honor to fight a real fighter pilot. I would die sure, still be fun. But I guess if you make a squadron, and a real fighter pilot is on it, then you would learn a lot. And fly with the top ELITE. I would like that very much. Bu funny thing is, a modern real F-22, A-10, F-16 or F/A-18 real actual fighter pilot would be unstoppable. He would configure his systems so fast and hard hit you with perfect speed and altitude and AoA (if that matters), use the perfect weapons at the perfect timing. BVR mode RWS mode, then switch to TWS SST mode...flawlessly. If thats even how they do it I dunno. I wish I did know how its done. In this simulation they probably just go for ACM mode as fast as possible. And say screw the FCS A/A radar and just blow you away. A real fighter pilot in DCS probably makes special confgiurations on his HOTAS that we would never know. Basically the real thing, but certain tweaks for the simulation. To make him unstoppable. And you know, he is a real fighter pilot, so he can switch to the right systems at the perfect time. Making you dead. When I play multiplayer I hope I don't shoot down a real fighter pilot that would just make him mad. Thats the last thing I want, I want to be friends. And fly togethor. I love the USAF.
  13. I wish I was 12, I had a great imagination back then, as I get older it deteriorates. Growing up in the 80's my inspiration and imagination was fun. Now today, being old, I have a hard time designing star fighters and creating worlds. I don't even draw anymore. Once you become an adult life gets really hard really fast. Plus in Terminator Salvation there is some awesome 3D models made in Maya. The A-10C and HK's. Its awesome. How would you not want to do that? Fly an A-10 against and HK? You do realize the best USAF fighter pilots went up againt Artificial Intelligence sentinal Drones...they lost every time. SkyNet will be a reality soon enough. The USAF and DARPA is making SkyNet. If that happens then humans are out of the loop. Only machines will control the military. And ICBM's. Most of you probably think.."naw, not possible." Nope, its closer than you think. I don't want to see fighter pilots replaced. But, its looking that way. And for all military personal...will be Automated by SkyNet...not even the soldeirs will be human anymore...its called a Terminator. Laugh all you want...it is going to happen...thanks DARPA and the USAF....Russian too. Computers are everything. Artificial Intelligence is the new Dawn. Here is the real deal, if the smartest people in the world can build SkyNet, they will. They don't care if its possible if becomes self aware and nukes the planet. They will do it anyway. I would. Apprently some dudes in Korea got arrested, because they were building Terminators...A.I CPU's and everything. Thats kinda funny. But thats case in point, especially with quantum computing. If SkyNet is possible, someone will build it. So DARPA has to be first. Otherwise, well...thats not good. What happens if Russia and the United States build SkyNet? Would the two systems become friends? Probably not it would be a double down of M.A.D. And excecuted. Meaning Thermal Nuclear War. "Lets play a game."
