  1. Historical Skin representing a P-47D-30 of The Turkish Air Force, circa 1948. 180 such P-47Ds were deployed to the 9th, 5th & 8th Air Regiments of the Turkish Airforce through 1948. After reorganization they subsequently equipped the 151st and 152nd squadrons of the 5th AB (Air Base), 181st & 182nd Squadrons of the 8th AB and 191st & 192nd Squadrons of the 9th AB. They were retired between 1952 and 1954. A last minute entry from me this time, I won't admit how close to the deadline I began working on it. I was a bit lost for ideas in light of other wonderful entries, so I decided to have another crack at a Turkish warbird, unfortunately info on Turkish P-47s is much thinner on the ground compared to their Fw 190s I portrayed in the last contest. I was able to identify two basic schemes in Turkish Service, bare metal overall being the most common, but also the following with tan/sand upper surfaces, I found this to be the more interesting of the two and did my best to represent it accurately. I was sadly not able to find to which unit this scheme belonged to or when the scheme was used specifically, besides that it had been photographed in 1948. Includes custom pilot, due to their historic placement side numbers are not variable. Download: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ukov8gfnnQmsyIeDXsmG6It7bP4xQG5a/view?usp=sharing As to danerpin's post prior to mine: Thank you, though in the end I found that 'pilot_P47_headset' had to contain a capital P, unlike 'pilot_p47' for the body. That being the P in P47. Got there in the end though!
  2. I'm not asking about the texture file itself, I'm asking about the prefix at the beginning of the line that specifies what component the texture will be applied to. I sadly can't find the correct one to apply a texture to the pilot's helmet/face.
  3. Last minute question, does anyone know the name to put into the descripton.lua to change the headset texture? 'pilot_p47' works for the pilot but 'pilot_p47_headset' (the default texture name) does not work for the headset.
  4. We are in an identical situation it seems, I will also shortly be submitting a Turkish P-47! Let's see who finishes first.
  5. Seems you've beaten me to this scheme, I'll have to start again with something else. You did a fantastic job though, well done!
  6. When zooming out past a certain threshold, the position of the prop on the P-51D will change instantaneously. This is very slight but present on a newly spawned aircraft on the ramp, but very noticeable on an aircraft where the engine has been shut down or where the prop has been broken. I have uploaded a clip of the bug here: https://gfycat.com/admireddeadhellbender Tested in DCS 2.5.6.53756 Open Beta. Tested on both D-25-NA and D-30-NA variants. Thanks!
  7. While working on a mission I found that the southernmost of the three bridges in Boulonge cannot be designated with the 'attack map object' command, the AI will release their weapons on other nearby buildings, the other two bridges work correctly. The offending bridge is located precisely at 50°43'5" N 1°36'34" E Attached is a mission file in which 5 spitfires attempt to drop bombs with their 'attack map object' location set to various points along the bridge. You should note that none of them drop on the bridge, but onto the nearest available building instead. It's a small thing but I'd appreciate if it could be looked at, thanks! Bulogne Bridge Bug.miz
  8. This would be much appreciated, the modern pilot is a bit of an immersion killer on all but Reflected's skins.
  9. Having the Community A-4 Skyhawk mod installed seems to conflict with the P-47 and cause this issue.
  10. Still experiencing this in 2.5.6.47224 Here is a track file in which it occours as others have described. White Noise.trk
  11. This has already been logged as reported by Bignewy.
  12. Hope to have this available soon. It represents a hypothetical F-14A in Royal Navy service in the mid 70s to early 80s and will be available with several different squadrons. I've designed the scheme by referencing a combination of US and Iranian F-14 liveries alsong other Fleet Air Arm liveries of the 70s for a result that's hopefully quite 'authentic'. The omega 892 NAS tail would be a little anachronistic with such an acquisition, but it's so iconic I'll include it anyway. This will be paired with an eventual reskin of the upcoming Forrestal class carrier to represent the cancelled CVA-01 class of carriers should should result in some fun themed missions! Highly WIP at current.
  13. Winning skins have been added to the game in today's patch!
  14. While updating some skins to use the new pilot model's texture, I noticed that 'Pilot_AV8B_gear' which is the USMC camo cover by default, has no effect at all when defined. All default and old user skins skins are now using the pure white helmet from the default 'Pilot_AV8B_hgu68' and the default decal of 'Pilot_AV8B_hgu68_decal'. Is this a mistake or has the 'Pilot_AV8B_gear' texture been depreciated in favour of ''Pilot_AV8B_hgu68'? If so it's a little disappointing that all helmets are now plain white with the simple default decal and that the camo covers are completely absent. If anyone knows any more I'd love to hear it, thank you.
  15. Tested in DCS Open Beta 2.5.6.43931 hotfix This occurs both during hot starts at night and by manually deploying the light during a cold start. Lowering the Landing & Taxi light no longer illuminates the area in front of the aircraft even when its switch is in the "Extend & On" position. Only a very small area beneath the aircraft's intake is illuminated, as pictured below, as though the light is being projected from the stowed position rather than its deployed one.
  16. The winners have been announced in this week's weekend news. Here is the post and relevant quote: https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4219694&postcount=239 Skinning Contest Winners With serious review and consideration, we are proud to announce the 10 winners will have their work uploaded to our servers and the skins will be accessible to everyone. 17. I've had the opposite issue, user files for the CC are not picking up their RoughMets correctly, and after a little looking I found that the Chilean Fuselage 1 RoughMet file has seemingly been renamed. The file that user liveries are referencing is "C-101-fuse-1-CC-CHILE_RoughMet" but in 2.5.6 this has been renamed to "C-101-fuse-1-CHILE_RoughMet". The Fuselage 2 RoughMet does not seem to have been renamed and works as intended with all old user skins. If this could be changed back then existing user files would continue to work as normal. I'd also like to thank AvioDev for their continued efforts on this module, the PBR effects really bring the 101 to life!
  18. Seconding this, it is extremely noticeable when I turn around with TrackIR and one of my 'ears' passes through the canopy glass. On a lighter note what seems to be a new air rushing sound when the canopy is open is very nice!
  19. Very sorry! If it helps I've had this ready for a day or two, I just needed to wait for my account to activate to post it. I probably should have posted a WIP to let people know I was working on it. I'd also recommend looking at pictorial references where possible with historic skins, these A-3s did not have upper wing roundels (or 'squaredels' in this case).
  20. Historical Skin representing the Fw-190 A-3s of Turkey's Fifth Fighter Regiment, Eskesehir Airbase circa 1942/3 72 of these aircraft were delivered from Germany to Turkey in return for chromium and high-grade iron from late 1942 through to early 1943. Their equipment was largely Luftwaffe standard, excepting that their cannons had been replaced with additional MG-17 machine guns and that the FuG-25 IFF system was removed for security purposes. The aircraft was widely liked by pilots and remained in service with the Fifth Fighter Regiment until early 1949 when they were retired, having never seen combat. Includes variable side numbers and custom pilot. Download: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1_klutC8er8b8_BsPztaYKpspDYNEAMvC
