  1. Atleast for fsx you have the accusim b-17: http://www.a2asimulations.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9&products_id=39
  2. My thoughts exactly! :megalol: Anyway, it did the trick and continue to be impressed about the level of depth that go into engine design alone!
  3. Excellent stuff! Warms my heart to see the community engagement on this project. For me however the first three reasons to play is the High Fidelity of the simulation which is unmatched by any other combat sim. Ever. Not sure how well that would sell as marketing material, but that's what counts the most for me.
  4. The pics were taken based on their quality as it was tough to find pics for the specific models. Same issue also with the silhouettes. I thought of using them originally but struggled to find one of good enough quality for all the models so I took the compromise of generic top-down view and thought that the identity could be seen from the photos. Will look at the 151 later..
  5. Thanks! Not sure of Dora's best tactics, they did get their noses bloodied in 1944 by Mustangs et al. But specs wise it's not a bad match for allies and in the virtual skies will not be impacted by pilot shortages as in the real deal.
  6. Thanks! Updated the engine type and added option with the 20mm. The firepower calculation still with 30x90RB of the 108 as I'd run out of space to do opt that in to the chart :)
  7. As reaching the Kickstarter goal atleast on some level seems obvious, I started to look into the birds we'll get on the first level with bit more details. I got carried away and thought I'd share my work for you guys to enjoy too: May I present the birds of DCS:WW2. And a disclaimer: one can find 10 different versions of the specs of different models, so I did my best to check the facts. And I ran out of space to fit in imperial units, perhaps for the next version then :) PS. Click the Infograph for a bigger version!
  8. A way to compromise could be to have detailed 160*100 map and then an extended areas that would draw major outlines (land/water borders, forests, roads and elevation) from standard maps and have just standard cities and random farms etc. So to have possibility for a long haul but without spending precious plane budget too much on that.
  9. First of all, after going through billion pages of comments, contents and rants I just kept on smiling due to the fact that we have two very promising ww2 air sims around the corner and good things happening to clod by community efforts. Good times for a genre many of us feared is fading away not too long ago! You will have my money for sure the moment I see the kickstarter out there. This will be an unparallel ww2 combat experience complexity wise! But a few q's: While thos topic is not as emotional to me as it seems to be for many, but isn't the kickstarter coming on Sept 5th so you can change things as needed before you publish it? So you could be vague / undecided on that part and leave your options open. And for the record all in one is my preference too :) 2nd Q: someone asked about the map size but I couldn't find a response. Can you shed some light on it? But two thumbs up and godpeed from my side!
  10. Finishing up my warthog setup and everything works ok, but I'd like to have the paddle to be configured so that I have to keep it pressed to work as a modifier. Now it works so that I press it and then the modifier stays on until I press it again. Is it possible to get it to work as Left Control or Shift works with keyboard. I googled that with X52 you do some 'latched' setting in the config program. Do I need to do something in the TARGET to change the behavior? Thanks!
  11. Ok, this is getting all twilight zone on me! So I got it to work for the most parts, but now as I started to walk through the training missions the axis work OK on all of the training chapters I've tried, but in ONE (Engine Startup) has the old behavior described in my original post. I've loaded the profile I downloaded to both SIM and GAME versions of the controls and doublechecked that axis config are correct on both of them. I can work around this by just training the startup on my own using the manual, but it would be very interesting to know why this behavior as it just doesn't make any sense to me!
  12. You know what, motivated by your answer I went back to check them even though I had checked them a hundred times. And though I had the configs correct in the A-10C SIM they were messed up with A-10C GAME which then apparently was the one that was selected as type when I took the "Create Fast Mission" to see if controls work. WOHOO! :pilotfly: But two questions in my mind still: what determines if it's 'Game' or 'Sim' configs that are loaded (is it the dificulty easy/med/hard)? I still wonder why the default .lua files were not recreated in the Input folder after I delete them and restart DCS? Anyway, million thanks! I knew this had to be something simple!
  13. Hi, I got my gorgeous warthog HOTAS yesterday and it feels and flies like a dream. However I have a weird issue with A-10C: The buttons work ok, but the axis (Pitch, Roll & Thrust) don't. The weird thing is that they work with DCS P-51D and other titles without any issues, so probably the stick and the drivers are ok and this is probably some simple issue. I've tried around a few things I found from googling around: - Deleted the .lua files for all joysticks and keyboard as referred in http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=95236. But when re-starting DCS it doesn't re-create any files. Why? - Downloaded a pre-made config from http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/131072/ and loaded the wathog files but they work ok. - Tried to copy the above files with the same .lua name as the original A-10 lua files were in the input folder, but same behaviour. - Tried to clear up all the axis, exit from the config, then came back and re-assigned them (yes, it detects it when I configure it). But always the same behaviour: My saitek pro combat rudder works ok, TIR5 has no issues, all the buttons work on the HOTAS but none of the axis does. The pitch axis does move however when moving the stick up or down, but it moves only up or down, but doesn't center when I let the stick go. I'm mesmerized but still hoping I could fix it instead of doing re-installs etc. I've got W7 64bit, the controllers mentioned above, 1.2.5 DCS. So close but so far and it's killing me as I decided to wait starting with A-10 untill I get the stick. Now I got but I'm stuck! :helpsmilie: Thanks in advance!
  14. That's a damn shame. Called quite a few bigger markets and game stores to check if they'd have it in their discount baskets but no luck. With the late add-on productions like FC and FC2 one would have thought even the Ubisoft crackheads would see the extra sales potential there and it would have made sense to digi distribute it even without perfect copy protections etc. As I wanted to get airborne asap while waiting for A-10's and SOW:BOBs I just snatched the LOMAC torrent that DL'ed that in 10 mins, let's see how FC2 DL version sits on top of that. That'll anyway give me time to look for a decent boxed version vendor and wait for the x-y weeks of delivery.
  15. Hi, I know LOMAC is Ubi's product, but as I intend to get FC2 running I hope it's ok to query it here: So I'd like to get to the skies still today can you tell me if it's possible to get them both as downloadable versions? I can find FC2 direct download version no problem, but LOMAC is always a boxed version that I'd have to order from abroad. I know the platinum version is coming (or is it out already?) but will that be downloadable? I'm located in Finland if that makes a difference. Help a brother out, I'd love to get airborne today instead of waiting for my box for ages.
