Thanks for all the hard work that has gone into this huge update. Excited to get a look at the P-47 and Channel map, not to mention new features/ weapons on the F/A-18. Appreciate the more complete changlogs, as well as the more detailed explanation of each change. Great move. Thanks BN  For the past few updates the download rate has maxed my NBN D/L bandwidth (6 MB/s). Today, with a much bigger patch and I'm sure plenty wanting it, I'm getting ~2.6 - 3 MB/s. Perhaps a more realistic stress test of the current download system? Still faster than the torrent would sometimes sloooow down to. Update: I may have spoken too soon. About halfway through the download of the update only (not Channel map or P-47) and the download speed has slowed to 260 - 320 KB/s

Been here a long time like you brother, and yes, I still get the same buzz when I nail a new procedure, master a new system or aircraft, or crack a Case III landing or night AAR. Enjoy!!

^this.

Why no video from ED on this functionality?

Thanks for sharing that. I note the Ball was really hard to see until that last minute too.

The new download method we saw last time for the small patch worked really well again this time too. Obviously everyone was waiting for the SC and other updates this time, but the download still maxed out my NBN bandwidth. Very nice indeed! Like downloading from Steam now!

Looks stunning and I'm loving the features so far. Love the deck crew animation (not so much when they stop and turn) but very lifelike!! Thank you so much for your efforts on this so far. Looking forward to additional features.

Thanks very much for that G B

Thank you for your help! Much appreciated.

Thanks. That helps!

I need a diagrams please. Management of multiple aircraft in a stack, especially with multiple flights, is the bit that confuses me the most. I still haven't got this clear in my head how the whole process works.

Congrats!! I know how that feels. I was so stoked the first time I completed an AAR, back when we only had the A-10C to do it with, I set my computer's screen saver to: "Mr Transfer Complete!!" I don't use that computer for DCS anymore, but it still has that screen saver! :smilewink:

What about if you power-off the JSOWS by deselecting it from the MFD "Stores" page? Then reboot by powering it up/ realigning it again?
-
Yeah, I like the idea but this could be a problem.

The file server came up for a while but has gone down again just now. Getting the same 404 error again.
-
Yep. Same issue.

67?? I can get 67 too .... (if land twice) :smilewink: well done!

Yes, I use TackIR all of the time and have for years. I've also used VR a bit (Oculus CV1). Definitely no spinning with TrackIR but its been short burst of use with VR, I don't recall any spinning with VR, but it has been a while since I've used it.

Strange!! This use to drive me nuts!! However, for me, the the clouds stopped spinning ages ago ( I would guess more than 12 months ago - probably longer, even 24 months). I thought that bug had just been fixed?? Do many still experience this??
-
Quite true. When I first started using VR I was forever smacking my A-10C into the tarmac way too hard because I was constantly misjudging the height.

QUOTE=bomber;4313707]The font outline is great, there is also an LCD mod for the hornets 3screens which is very good and I use it. Will try the font also. Do you have a link for that mod please? UPDATE: No worries, I think I've found it here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3306396/

Harsh and funny all at the same time. Nice!

Thanks for that. I've just re-watched Matt Wagner and Jabber's Case III vidios again and picked up on that point. Any other pointers? Thanks for your reply.

I just wanted to throw in here on Case III approach landings to seek a bit of advice on flying the ICLS needles in the Hornet. Back in the day when I was constantly flying the the A-10C, I got reasonably good with ILS approaches, to the point where I could put it down on the the threshold every time in the thickest fog possible. So I feel I understand the concepts and steps necessary for an ICLS approach. However, over the last week or so, I've been training on the Hornet doing ICLS approaches. Mostly during the day because I'm out of practice and because the carrier night landing lights are not working ATM. My main issue is being able to follow the needles down for a successful approach with the Hornet. I find that despite my adjustments vertically or horizontally to get on glide slope, there seems to be very little change on the position of my aircraft glide slope marker in relation to the HUD ICLS needles. So much so, that I seem to be chasing to the needles to the point that I'm well outside the correct approach to the carrier (I can see it because I'm practicing during the day time). Am I doing something wrong with my approach? I'm coming in at 1,200' along the TACAN set to the BRC and then getting on-speed about 8 miles out at 1,200' waiting for the needles. From that point it becomes a mess! I'm starting to wonder: Is it just me out of practice? Are the ICLS needles working correctly ATM and representing a 3 degree glide slope accurately in line with the final approach for landing? To me the beam seems to be way to wide? Is it just me out of practice? Is it th lack of fidelity with the smaller needles on the F/A-18 HUD compared to the A-10C needles? Is it just me out of practice? Am I doing something else wrong? I'd really appreciate any advice/ tips on this from anyone who feels they have a sound grip in doing an ICLS approach to the carrier.
