  1. Hi, very interesting campaign till now but I am stucked in mission 6. Analysing in Tacview I see that immediatly after the start of the mission an A-10 with callsign Major Took Key-1 flies to the LZ with both Chinook and Apache behind him. At the LZ The A-10 kills himself by flying directly into a mountain. 17 minutes later both choppers arrive at the LZ, the Chinook lands but doesn't pick up the poor chrashed pilot. The Apache is already on it's way back and also kills himself by flying into a mountain. The Chinook takes off at the moment that my flight cross the border. We crossed shortly after that but I didn't noticed the Chinook. I started to destroy all enemies and after one hour of priceshooting I took off to Senaki. What went wrong? nullThe picture is the moment that the Chinook returned while I arrived at the LZ. Tacview-20240225-190250-DCS-Mission 6 A-10C II.zip.acmi
  2. Hi all, I got the same issue, it is impossible to go low with the current weather conditions. Flanky83's suggestion is a creative shortcut but I really would like to see realistic weather conditions that suits the mission. I fly VR, are there any pilots who were able to finish this mission the correct way?
  3. Yes, it would absolutely a benefit if you could give AI light commands. I believe that only the planes who are part of your group copies your light settings. Within Persian Freedom has every “bird” a unique ID (no purple marks in TAD or HMCS) so they don’t copy my light settings. I am not 100% sure but I believe that the command “Fence In” includes that the exterior lights are switched off. But giving this command too early results in that your flight members leave the formation too soon. But again, I can be wrong because sometimes this works but often it doesn’t work. However, I have stopped some time ago with analysing the AI behaviour
  4. Sorry, my fault but most important is that we can take over the kneeboard's wind values in the LASTE Wind correction and that is really nice! Thanks!
  5. In Mission 6 I'll need my two CBU-97's to destry at least some of assigned armour which is moving to the Marines. Targets are moving, active air defenses prevents flying low, winds are quite strong and different heights have differents directions, so I want to input wind information into the LASTE Wind Correction (further below the website which explains where I am talking about). Based on the wind assignments in the DCS briefing and wind corrections as explained by Boris, I calculated for this mission the following wind settings (22o ground temperature and 2o divertion between Map North and Magnetic North): ALT WIND TEMP 00 250/8 22 01 250/16 20 02 250/16 18 07 99/14 9 26 319/23 -30 Our Kneeboard contains also a Weather report, but compared with the DCS briefing the numbers seems to be different so I'm a bit lost which info I should use to make a good correction. Weather report out of Kneeboard mission 6: And here you can find how to deal with Wind Corrections, explaind by Boris: Brrrrrrt Animal
  6. Again, great campaign! What I am missing are instructions regarding exterior lights, this would add realism to the missions. Besides this, my winger follows my lightsettings except for flashlights, I've noticed that sometimes these stay on even above enemy grounds. As far as I understand out of real life, after takin off in potential hostile environments all exterial lights are switched off. Brrrrrt Animal
  7. Ah, thanks for explaining. This means that we won't see any purple wingers in our TAD and HMCS. I like the way you've set this up, much less AI mistakes but a disadvantage is that it's hard to use Vaicom Pro voice commands (it reads the F10 phrases but this is hard to reproduce). But I really like your campaign and can't wait for your next one! Brrrrrrrt! Animal
  8. I took over the recommedations and yes, now I can close the mission. Thanks for this link!
  9. thanks for your quick response! Score: 100% - no cheating, no missing messages, message at the and that I completed the mission, the green Finish button is visible but doesn’t respond. If this is a ED issue then they really should solve it because I can’t continue and that really spoils the fun.
  10. Hi Stoop, You’ll have to adjust your TrackIR settings in a way that the HMCS cross stays in the middle of your sight. Basically this means that you have to narrow the view curves. I use a 38” curved screen and had to adjust it a lot, however the sensitivity of head movements is very high and it takes some time to get used to it but you can get a perfect result with the cross in the middle even when you look to your six. cheers Animal
  11. Hello, I cannot finish mission 6. No cheats, no fast forward of the time. I have played the mission 6-7 times and did everything exactly as described. I saved the mission (.trk file) but it is too big to upload. What should I do? My regards Animal66
  12. Yes, after 6 times I can do this mission almost with closed eyes The only issue is that my wingman vanishes sometimes without being hit or falling out of the sky. I can’t find any reason for this. I don’t believe that this has to do with the mission but is a DCS issue.
  13. Hi all, I can’t end mission 4 although my score is 100% and the green END MISSION button is available. I did a DCS file check and played the mission about 6 times now. I also checked it through Tacview and the only unexplainable thing that I saw in one of the missions is that my wingman vanished without being hit or falling out of the sky. The file is too big to include but we all know the AI has it’s own mysterious ways. Biggest issue is that I don’t know what to do to continue. I use Steam edition and no cheats whatsoever. any advice? edit: I found the problem, I have accelerated time from WP2 to WP3 and seems that this is a way of cheating...
  14. Hi all, I got the same problem and as far as I can recall, I hadn't this problem with the A-10c and believe that it has to do with the new APKWS. I spot a target, make it SPI through the TGP, choose a laser guided weapon, fly in a straight line to the target while activating the laser and then out of nothing the TGP looses track. This happens 75% of the time. Sometimes I see without any reason that the TGP camera is shortly moving by itself, sometimes coming back to the target but most of the time it is pointed let's say 10-30 metres away from it. I can imagine that when you make a turn and the TPS looses direct sight, that te TPS can be off target. I can't imagine that this is normal when the TGP has full sight.
  15. I all, After 250+ flight hours in A10C/II I really would like to go to the next level by joining a group of serious A-10 pilots. I like to play campaigns but get frustrated by the fact that my fellow AI flight members respond badly to commands and do unexpected things what kill them. I love to learn, like to do longer missions and try to do this as realistic as possible. Do you like to share your knowledge to get a new team member? Then I am more than willing to join! Stay safe, Animal66
  16. I totally agree. All campaigns are really fun and the storylines are good. But regardless how good you are, there are quite some missions which only can be completed together with your wingman/flight. Unfortunately they not always respond and react as they should and it is often not possible to fulfil the mission by yourself. This is reported and noticed, so let’s hope that the AI will improve as soon as possible. But don’t let this stop you to do campaigns, there is a lot what can be done and much to learn. And agree totally with Yurgon to master at least some basic knowledge and skills, the A-10 had a learning curve but mastering piece by piece can be so satisfying.
  17. Okay, thanks for answering. IRL they have this possibility.
  18. Hi all, Is it possible to see through SADL the available weapons of my flight members during a mission?
  19. Hi al, A couple of days ago I have posted the folowing in the in the A-10C Operation Piercing Fury Campaign section but got zero response and I am sure that there are members who can help me out. The problem is that my AI co pilots respons very bad to given commands. Piercing Fury is my first campain where this occurs but also in other missions my AI flightmember(s) respont quite bad. I am aware that the build in AI has its limitations and can react sometimes in an unexpected way. This is accepted and I try to make the best out of it. I use Voice Attack and Vaicom Pro for commands. If a command isn't clear, then I use the F-buttons. The problem shouldn't be related to the radio, no easy comms, using the correct radios with correct frequencies. Would this be wrong, then I won't get any response at all. I understand that my AI teammembers must "see" the enemy, otherwise they response my command with a "negative". So let's take mission 12 "Juggernaut Pt.1 as an example where my flight of 4 have to destroy 6 convoys, each equiped with air defences. At the moment my flight tells me that they have seen targets, and then especcially air defences, I want them to start with taking out air defences with missiles from the east. Voice Commands understands perfectly when I say: Flight, Engage Airdefences with Missiles from the East. DCS repeats this and adds "At my SPI", so I'll take care that my SPI is on one of the air defence verhicles and my TAD shows right top SPI ON. I get no response from my flight, so I have tried all other possbilities, e.g. instead of Flight I choose Wingman and Second Element, and instead of using Voice Command I use the F-buttons. No response. The only response that always works is Engage Ground Targets. The problem with this is that at least one will be ejecting within 1 minute and the other two won't survive the attack till the end. This also happened within other missions but there I was able to fisinsh the job by myself and got 85% instead of 100%. Mission 12 cannot be done without support of your team, even after adapting the weapons configuration and other settings in the mission editor. Am I doing something wrong, or is this simply how it works? Stay safe! Animal66
  20. Hi al, First of all, this is my first campaign and I love it! The only thing is that my flight members Hawk 2-4 don’t perform quite well. I am aware that the build in AI has it’s limitations and can react sometimes in an unexpected way. Okay, this is as it is so I try to make the best out of it by giving specific orders but it seems that they don’t get it. Radio and frequencies are correct, no issues there. I don’t have experience with other campaigns but within other missions everything seems to work well although these are only with an AI wingman. First of all, I understand that they have to “see” the enemy, otherwise I get a “negative” as response. The only command they respond to is “engage ground targets”. But I want that they start to take out air defenses with Mavericks, so I command F2-Flight F-3 Engage with... F4-Engage Air Defenses F1-with Missile... F1-From the North. After selecting “my voice” speaks this loud so the command is correct. But none of the flight members acknowledged or respond to this. Again, they only respond to engage ground targets. I have tried all variations, to my F1-Wingman, F2-Flight and F3-Second Element. I have read the manual over and search in this forum to find out if I do something wrong or want something that is not possible, both aren’t the case. Because of my other flight member’s stupidity (ace level: ejecting during anchoring, bingo fuel when my tanks are at least 70%, or simply disappeared without any reason) I have to redo mission after mission (currently I am doing 12 for the fourth time after 6 times doing 11). Who can provide me with some good advice without adapting the missions, at least not too much. My regards, Animal66
  21. Yurgon and Shagrat, both thanks for responding. I understand that most of the experienced Simmers are focussing on MP but I think that there is still a huge group who are simming solo. And besides that, I think that improvement of AI is not only for the solo simmers, but will also benefit experienced simmers if the quality of response improves. I understand that upgrading AI can be a challenge and time conserving job. But I am convinced that an increase in AI also leads to an increase of the value and attractiveness of DCS. Anyhow, mimicing my lights settings makes it mor realistic and that's what I like.
  22. Hi all, I’m JJ call sign Animal66 and this is my first post. I have a question about the use of exterior lighting during combat/hostile situations. I notice that during combat missions the exterior lighting from the AI planes remains on. From what I understand from a real A-10 pilot is that during combat flights they always switch these off. As far as I know it makes no difference within DCS whether the lighting is switched off or not, but it would be more realistic if this has some impact, e.g. the enemy spots you earlier with exterior lights on. In addition, it would also be nice if you could give specific commands to your wingman / flight via the radio. Do you find this useful? If so, would this be technically feasible? Cheers, Animal66
  23. This is not a gamma or monitorsetting issue. I can't read anything on the control light panel, neighter can I see if the steeringwheel/gun is enabled, very anoying.
  24. This is really an issue, i.e. it is impossible to read the causion light panel.
