Thanks again StrongHarm, yes, was barking up the wrong tree, thought they were replacement profiles that you could just insert. Now, if I used Target, could I replace the profile, from the stored Txt files? Just out of curiosity.

Sorry,me again. Still a bit dim on this! I click "Make Txt" then what ? it shows the list of Joystick and throttle default txt files but doesn't seem to input them when clicked. What is the procedure?

Thank you StrongHarm, that's exactly the info I needed. I had found the files in Input layouts but had no notion how to add them to the game.

Is there a setting for the default commands for the Hotas warthog? I cannot get the coolie hat, right long, or K (keyboard ) to make soi, work.
How does any one remember all the joystick and throttle commands? No, I'm definately too old!:cry:

I've got it but it's too frigging complicated for me, difficult for an old dog to learn new tricks, I'm almost 70. Been flying sims since F17 came out on a floppy disc. Also been flying paragliders for twenty five years.

Would someone please tell me how to ground stabilize the seeker head ? In the trainer for use of the Maverick, the trainer uses the Tab key, but it doesn't work in the game.

The 1.12b patch
Forgive me if I am completely out of date. Just reinstalled Lock-on and Flaming cliffs, over the top. It runs ok, when the game starts Starforce checks the disk and off we go. Now after downloading and installing the 1.12b patch, Starforce asks for a serial number. I dont have one, never had one, wasn't provided with the two boxed versions I bought online.
So, is there an answer to this problem, or do I just play without any updates.

I am absolute beginner and I'm also trying to set cockpit views that stay put, so one can manipulate switches etc. Don't know what I'm doing wrong but GregP suggests pressing RCTL KP0 to view you want to change, untoggle snap views, save cockpit angles RALT KP0, great but it's still a snap view and in doesn't stay there when you lift off your finger.
Is there a way so I can choose a cockpit view and get it to stay there?

Game Mode
Just started with the game, but for the life of me I cannot get the sim to perform in game mode, I select game mode and game avionics but I don't get the Targets to show or any of the easy mode functions to work. What am I missing here?:helpsmilie:

I do have the latest version, what is 6 dof? How have you tweaked your settings to achieve your result?

Mike, are you saying that you are just unable to pan far enough to the right and left to view the switches?That is my problem right now. Just trying to get that sweet spot dialed in with the TIR, and have not found it yet.
Yes exactly, I can pan to the switch but have to sit way back, then it's difficult to rotate switch wheels and to see result, ( radio frequency) also there is to much jittering about.

I've got a problem using trackIr. If I try to click on switches or to use the mouse wheel, it is almost impossible to perform if the particular switch is far left or right. Because one is using track IR,:helpsmilie: the keystrokes that would allow you to access these views don't work.
What does anyone else do to overcome this shortfall?

I have the Pause/break key, but nothing happens when I hit it and cannot play the sim!

No, thanks but I know how to make and use SST profiles. I'm talking about simple in game mapping. The commands I have changed simply do not work. The axis commands do, except where they conflict with a default command eg; Slider to zoom view. It's got me scratching my head knowing what to do next. Even using the trigger to fire the cannon,doesn't work. I made the changes, saved and then loaded the changed commands, no dice.

Setting up the Joystick commands
First let me apologise if this has already been covered elsewhere. I set up my SaitekX52 and assigned every thing I would need but within the game none of them worked#. Is this game setup like Lockon, where you delete all the assignment already made for joysticks and start from there? :book:Also having made the aforesaid assignment I couldn't make the game save them! Any help please.

As a last resort, the installer can be executed even though it's corrupted. To bypass the corruption test, pass /NCRC on the command line. To do so, go to Start->Run, type cmd and hit Enter. A black console window should open. Drag the installer into the window, hit Space and type /NCRC. Hit Enter again and the installer should start. This is not recommended!
When all else fails, you will need to contact either the developers of the software you're attempting to download or your personal computer support channels.
To anyone interested,this trick solved my problem. The makers of the game were not interested, once they have sold you the game, job done. This took research of perhaps twenty minutes, why couldn't DCS at least try to solve the problem. Pissed off .

Kons lock on site
Don't see the relevance ,the site has nothing to do with Black Shark and certainly nothing in respect to the problem I am experiencing.
To elucidate, I downloaded the game and it worked perfectly for about three weeks. Didn't use it then for a week or two. Tried to play the game last week and then I got the corrupt file message. Further downloads and installations have all given me the same error message. I think it is because the game was un-installed without de-activication, because I am not getting the logon window when I start the game.

Corrupt Files
I have found that I can go online to play but I'm not ready for that yet. The game installed no problem, then after three weeks when I clicked the single player icon, the first screen came up with the music and then,:mad::mad::mad: the application error. Installed three times since but same message each time.

Downloaded and installed Black Shark but when I try to start the game I get a box that tells me "application error" file corrupt, then the game closes. Have re downloaded the files but same thing happens. Also burned the files to disc and tried installing from there, no difference. Seems I bought a game that I cannot play. Any suggestions would be gratefully received.:mad:

Is there anyway to increase size of hud information? I'm seventy and the eyesights not like it used to be. I know I can zoom the whole cockpit view but then I don't see the MFI's.:helpsmilie:
