  1. Check the lua you downloaded with notepad++. I had a lot of trouble downloading it correctly. Ended up copy/paste raw contents into empty .lua
  2. I was unable to find the Lamp/Text output in any of the files either. Thanks for uploading your profile!
  3. Nice profile so far for the Apache. Hope you will post it when you are done! Just getting started on mine, but learning to fly it is taking most of my time lol!
  4. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3321306/ The creator of this profile has included a WORD file that you can easily use. Delete all text or just some of it. Great layout! LibreOffice if you dont have MSWord.
  5. You have to set modifier for each catagory (ie. Pilot, CoPilot and George). The warnings will clear.
  6. This is an excellent Warthog profile. I have never used your choice in Modifier button, but I will give it a go. Thanks so much for uploading this!
  7. json files should be located in Saved Games/DCS.OpenBeta/Scripts/DCS-BIOS/doc/json/ If you do not have a DCS-BIOS folder there, then you should re-read the DCS-BIOS install instructions.
  8. Just wondering if anyone has a graphical layout (jpg, png) of their Warthog HOTAS yet? There is a decent YouTube video about setting up the profile, but I was looking for alternatives.
  9. Is there a pdf layout for the F14 HOTAS? I read a few days ago that the F14 would launch with a good setup for the TM Warhog HOTAS. I was hoping that was some kind of PDF showing all the default keybinds. Otherwise, I will work on making my own. Thanks, NB
  10. Does anyone have a good Warthog profile for the FW190? A graphical layout in .pdf form would be great! I have tried Home Fries target profile, but the install method is pretty complicated (for me). I know the old 'make your own' response, but after working on Viggen and Harrier I am hoping to save a bit of time on the Dora :) Thanks T
  11. Just wondering about this Warthog profile for the FW190. Was it ever released? I think these great aircraft should come with a complete Warthog joystick profile. NoID has been creating some great profiles similar to the quality of the A10C. :)
  12. Thanks for showing your setup. Do you have a pic of the layout?
  13. I just wanted to say thanks for putting in the effort of making these missions/campaigns. I think I played some of your single missions long ago. I have asked for and hoped some one would make some campaigns of this quality. I will be buying them all!. Thanks again! NB
  14. what is on the horizon for DCS? Ive been away from this sim for a while. Just wondering what is up next? Ive given up on the Nevada map that was promised years ago. The DCS:WWII seems quite a ways off. Is there another A10C quality aircraft coming up? Thanks, TC
  15. Is there any chance of additional campaigns being made available for A10C and Ka-50? I would gladly pay a small fee for some professionally created missions or campaigns. Perhaps some missions that use some new or more complex mission builder capabilities? Even well crafted basic missions with a small story line would be nice. I am a loyal customer who really enjoys the single player part of this sim. I have bought every module, even though I only really fly the A10C and the BlackShark. I am still waiting for the free Nevada map promised so long ago during the Beta Test lol. It seems a good way to keep people like myself around buying more modules would be to provide some easy new content. (I say easy, meaning quicker and easier than a new module). Thanks for a great sim world! TC
  16. Hi, I have an strange problem with my controller assignments in DCS World 1.22. I just downloaded a nice new profile for my Warthog HOTAS for BS2 from the User Files on the DCS website. I put the LUA files (joystick, throttle, pedals) in the appropriate spot: /mods/aircrafts/ka-50/input/ka-50. My problem is that after I load each profile, I can only alter the existing button assignments. All empty button assignments are uneditable. For example, Joy_BTN1 is currently linked to Gun Fire. I can edit/delete this assignment normally. But, if I try to click on an unassigned command for pedals, throttle or joystick nothing happens. Even the Add/Clear/Default buttons are greyed out. I am assuming the problem is with the LUA files, but I dont know how to solve it. It is a great profile and it contains a nice editable layout. Any help would be appreciated, NB

  18. A suggestion for Flaming Cliffs 3 I would like ask that DCS include interactive training missions with the release version of FC3. There were some fine training missions included with the original Lock On. I tried to change the extension to see if they could be used in FC3, but was unsuccessful. Would it be difficult to port these missions over to FC3? I have willingly paid for LO, FC, FC2 and FC3. Since these sims are really just upgrades, I would like to see a bit more in the campaigns, missions and training. The one thing I think DCS could do better at would be releasing this type of content to keep their avid fans interested. I, personally, would have no problem paying a small fee for additional (professionally created) campaigns, missions and training. I really enjoy the fan created missions (i fly mostly single player). When A10C first came out, there were quite a few very creative builders, but with so many patches (a good thing!) the creation of these types of missions has really slowed down. Please dont file this post away as 'another whiny forum guy'. Lol. I am a long time supported of DCS and other high fidelity flight sims. As always, I just want More! NB
  19. Great info! Thank you. That helps a lot. Thanks, NB
  20. I am finally getting around to starting the tutorials for the P51. I have the throttle on my Warthog HOTAS split, one side for throttle and one side for engine RPM (I copied this from one of the profiles someone had uploaded). I noticed in the Take Off and Landing tutorials the instructor speaks about using Manifold pressure as a guide for take off and also setting the RPM to 2500 for landing. I am a bit confused about how to combine the throttle/manifold pressure with the RPM. Are these usually adjusted together? or separately? Are there certain RPM settings that are best for dogfighting? I am not sure if my question is clear. Usually a throttle is fairly simple, lol :joystick: Thanks NB
  21. Once you save the LUA files, (usually under /mod/aircraft/P51/input, I think)...you will need to open up Control Options within the game. Go to P51 controls. Make sure you are using the Sim controls (or Game controls for easy mode). You should have several categories, including Joystick, Throttle and perhaps rudder pedals. Click on any item on a category, then select load Profile. You may need to navigate to the correct folder. Do this for the Joystick and Throttle and you should be set to go. Hope this helps NB Note: Careful if you extra these files using the folder names included. Make sure the 3 LUA files in the joystick folder go into the game folder under P51 Joystick.
  22. Lots of good info here...Thank you very much! This: "This is basically because the stick travel is so small compared to the real stick, and there is no direct feedback in the stick/cockpit so you only find out when you are in trouble right at the edge of stall and the whole plane model starts shuddering." and this: "as soon as you start to stall one wing will drop violently" are great discriptions of what I was experiencing. I am testing with a slight curve for the joystick Pitch. Combined with a bit of practice, I am getting used to the sensitivity of this plane. TC
