  1. The slowdown over cities in Quad views is resolved for me by disabling terrain shadows. Well worth it to have that smooth locked 90fps at 200% SS and other settings turned up. I suspect all the shadows from so many buildings push the CPU too far combined with the CPU demands of Quad views. 2. Wow that's crazy. It's amazing how polarised some of the experiences are.
  3. I've tried mine at 1.0 and it agree there's no difference. Today I tried just the default aircraft Su-25T instant action Caucasus then exit DCS. Still got the crash. Happens in 2D or VR. I feel like it's just better to go to task manager and kill DCS rather than using the exit option.
  4. I did the comfort mod from the Pimax Discord thread. Very good now. It's the only headset I can play DCS with high resolution at 90fps. Took some work on tweaking and modifications to get it perfect but it was worth it. Without this I would've stayed trackir as I'm not interested in blurry 50fps etc.
  5. Apparently it is "Closest friendly datalink member", but I'm not sure exactly what it will show for that. I have this one on, and have a friendly in the area but don't seem to get anything extra on the HMCS. Is it supposed to show a guidance arrow to friendly? Or it would just show when your helmet is looking at them - in this case I would've though this would already be covered by Donors or MIDS info. Or is it not implemented in DCS Hornet?
  6. Hi @petsild What font scale would count as different? Mine is 1.5 but I'm not sure what the default is. I shouldn't go alot smaller because Pimax Crystal resolution is huge. null
  7. Mission requires bombing runway, then ensuring transport plane diverts. Escorted and watched it land, once it despawns after landing the message accused of shooting it down and failed the mission. Track attached. Runway Refuse - accused of shootdown.trk
  8. All flights are VR, whenever I'm using the F-16 it will crash when I try to exit the game and I have to go through the popup screens. The popups are not clickable because they are in 2D and the VR has stopped, the mouse is trapped in the VR. It's not F-16 exclusive though, some flights of other aircraft it has happened but the F-16 is the one I fly the most and also most reproducable. Attached is my log dump dcs.log-20240126-084317.zip
  9. Adding to above about CZ, I think it could be that CZ DID work but it just doesn't remove it from the MFD page. Here's a track - It seems that CZ is commanded, and cursor resets to the waypoint in space above the ground, but remains an option on the MFD even though its already been actioned. CZ not removing from MFD after use2.trk
  10. Thanks understood about comparisons. Regarding HSD CZ option - I did some more testing and found where it happens. The CZ option is only on the HSD during A/G master mode. TGP and FCR retain the CZ option in all modes, but HSD loses the CZ option when leaving A/G mode, eg when switching to NAV or A/A mode. Is this quirk of the HSD being different to other pages correct behaviour? Thanks! That detail is very useful. When you say "SLAVE mode" - I assume this is the same thing as "INR Track" like we do TMS AFT to preserve the target location before TGP gets obscured. One last thing that was bugging me, sometimes with the TGP as SOI and the CZ showing as an available OSB option, using TMS AFT multiple times wasn't doing CZ. The only way to CZ was to use the OSB even though it was via TGP. Are there some types of cursor slew offsets that could prevent TMS AFT from commanding CZ on the TGP even when pressed twice? I can't remember all the situations, but once was when designating a target that was not visible due to clouds, though in that case CZ wouldn't disappear even when selecting it on by the OSB.
  11. Thanks! I didn't notice because in NAV mode the radar defaults to CRM mode with no CZ option. Easy enough to switch to GM mode though. Strange that CZ is on the HSD in BMS but not in DCS. Also noted that TMS AFTx2 does not trigger CZ on the FCR though, I wonder if the CZ TMS shortcut only applies to the TGP or if it's just not implemented in DCS yet for the FCR CZ.
  12. DCS F-16C manual page 205 states " The FCR will default to GM mode if the weapon delivery sub-mode is CCRP, DTOS, LADD, PRE, VIS, BORE, HARM, or HTS" However when selecting VIS mode weapon (AGM-65) or DTOS (CBU-97) it switches to AGR mode. Trying to cycle to GM mode manually shows that AGR is the only mode available ie GM is missing. Cycling the weapon to other delivery modes will return radar modes to the selection and defaults to GM. Seems that GM was left out of VIS mode, or the manual is incorrect. Track attached showing reproduction for VIS mode. DTOS mode is the same steps but with different weapon loaded, can be reproduced with CBU-97. VIS mode AGR instead of GM.trk
  13. Great info thanks, MSL & DGFT I knew but never knew E-J was one. I thought the emergency jettison happened so fast that there would be no need for a mode. The tactical systems section you referenced explains this nicely thanks. One thing I noticed when doing S-J to get rid of my fuel tanks is that my TGP will lose its point track of the target, I'm now understanding that this is because I didn't add the TGP page to the S-J mode. Setting up the SMS pages is how I got into this problem in the first place Actually using DCS-DTC which is great, though I didn't for the video report keeping it mod free. Love the DMS switch too, especially in VR. MRM - are you sure that's a master mode? I thought that was just the missile selection, MRM "medium range missile" ie AIM-120?
  14. Interesting thanks, I didn't know there was a separate master mode. Interesting that a whole master mode is just for one function, but I can understand there may be reasons. I always thought the S-J was a sub-page of the SMS page because I only ever had it open for a few seconds I never thought to look/use the page menu below it. In that case I could swap the S-J page with the Swap button while in S-J mode to move it over, however I've been using it just fine on the other page anyway. Out of curiosity, are there any other master modes besides A/A, A/G, Dogfight, NAV, and S-J? Thanks
