  1. Hello ive been doing some research lately on ECM and how effective they are based on formations and such. I was wondering if this is in DCS because it currently does not seem like it. If not it would be very important to realism to implement especially due to a lot of high fidelity models now having operational ECM. Heres a short quote from a Ukrainian pilot on the impact of formation ECM jamming. "They use individual electronic countermeasures and some group ECM,” Juice added. “For example, in groups of strikers they use this formational ECM, which is very powerful, and there are also some choppers with EW on the border, and some more stuff on the ground. It makes it very hard to find anything, to lock onto something.” EW in general needs to be looked at more in DCS and it would be great if we could start with this.
  2. nah i actually started from the ground at ramat david
  3. having the exact same problem in syria SA-5 gammon launched at me and the HAD system said it was behind me the only SA-5 in that mission was 40 miles plus. Also noticed possible problems with the PGM status its saying PGM1 and when I fire the missile it goes nowhere near the target(yes it is in range). For example I fired at a search radar 20ish miles away with PGM1 but went 10 miles and dove into the dirt. it was a vey SAM heavy environment though abt 26 SAM systems in the bottom half of syria.
  4. thanks hey i noticed something else as well while using the HAD it was indicating that an SA-5 shot at me from behind me but in reality was abt 40 miles away. Even with a PGM1 status on the target it was giving me false readings.
  5. Hello, I've been doing a lot of SEAD recently but it seems like i hit search radars and EW instead of track radars sometimes. So, I was wondering if there is a way on the HARMs HAS page if there is a way to filter out that band of radar or the class of threats that EW and SR fall under. Thanks
  6. sorry not yet they will be coming in the next week or so. thank you for your patience. Since there are over 300 SAM sites it will take a while but the sam sites closest to the coast will be put in first
  7. Does anyone know the approximate percentage of old SA-2 and SA-3 systems failing? I've heard that many of these old Russian SAM missiles can fail to launch or track quite often and I was trying to implement that failure in DCS as a trigger percentage to replicate Syrian bought, Russian made SA-2s and SA-3s. If anyone has any information it would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Working on a google map that shows locations of SAMs as recent as 2013 (there are no more recent sources) that contains SA-2,3,5,6,8,9. This should help you in your mission planning. The empty sites are used to spread units out and also for more SAMs in storage so its possible these sites would be used in a conflict. Let me know if you are interested in helping or have any updated info. I worked on it for abt 5 hours and also lost abt 2 hours bc it didn't save but hopefully this will be completed in the next month or so. Currently it only has some of the southern SAMs but all locations are accurate and you can actually see the launchers if you zoom in on some. I am working on recovering the info I lost so that Damascus has all its SAMs. Here's the link: https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1HF_PQ5XQJLSwCJR5QeuuE90u3Zuc5H-O&usp=sharing
  9. keep going up in speed however and altitude the F-18 will start losing its advantage since it was designed for more lift at sea level due to carrier ops. take the 18 up and get fast you will be able to get inside his turn radius and you might be able to outrate him somewhere near 460 knots since past that the 18s performance drops and the 16 reaches its max potential. I think we might also have to blame the flight model right now because the 16 should have decently better rates anywhere from 1-2 degrees than the current flight model. Im excited to see the new one when they start fixing it more a little more AOA tuning should also help the viper.
  10. it could be an issue with RAM DCS takes up pretty much all of it so it could be data transfer speed or just not enough im having problems in vr due to only having 16 GB. I have a Ryzen 9 and a 3070
  11. cool so i wasnt totally wrong. thats good to know XD ill try some of it out ig when i have time
  12. Yeah that's what I figured I was just wondering if it could almost be used like the R-27R so that you wouldn't send any radar pings to their RWR. But I guess the TWS mode works just as good for that.
  13. Hi guys, I was going through the guide again getting a deeper understanding of the F-16 and I remembered that we could use the TGP in Air to Air mode. I was wondering if its possible to launch a missile on a TGP track without the radar being on using it almost like an IRST system. I would think on AMRAAMs it would launch it in the general direction and the go mad dog or if you could launch AIM-9s off of the TGP track? If not on the AIM-9s do you think it would be possible for the AIM-9 to track the IR designation in game or IRL? Or could we employ mavericks in an air to air capacity or maybe another IR guided missile? I know this is a lot of questions but if this is possible IRL I think it would be great if we could add it to the game somehow. Thanks!
  14. Ok i have noticed the completed cockpit on the F-15E unit and the high quality details so I guess they are doing testing to work out the last things. I also think the 2.7 update probably halted their progress IG. they might have had to update the f-15e more to make it compatible with the update
