  1. The solution to this problem still evades me but I found a work around. The Virpil throttle has a bank of six buttons ... I mapped the Engine Start action and Engine Stop action to four of those buttons. As soon as I press the Engine Start button, the throttle advances as expected and works for the rest of the game.   2. OK ... now things are getting interesting. Just on a whim I used the Startup Procedure (auto start) and both engines startup ... AND both of the throttles now work ... soool, the problem is not on the VirPil side ... go figure. However, when I'm working with a manual start the original problem still exists ... this game can be confusing at times. Thanks ...
  3. Howdy all, I have a problem with the Virpil throttle working in the A10-C cockpit. I assigned the throttle levers to Throttle Left and Throttle Right. After this assignment, when I move the throttles, the little white line shows that DCS is getting the signal from the Virpil throttle, BUT the throttle in the cockpit does not move when I move the thrust levers on the Virpil throttle. Also, I've assigned the six push buttons to Taxi and Landing lights on and off as well as APU Start and APU Off and they work, so I know the throttle is communicating with the A10-C II. I've uninstalled DCS ... then reinstalled it and then installed the A10 from scratch. I had high hopes for this but the solution evades me. Otherwise this is $811 down the drain. Thanks, C. T.   6. I've read hundreds of posts with regards to this persistent problem ... I'm still stumped. Here is what I've done Made sure that my router forwards the ports required by DCS Made sure my firewall is not blocking the traffic (I turned off Norton and Windows Firewall to take them out of the picture) Made sure all machines (server and client) are all on the same version of DCS Made sure all machines were using IPv4 with IPv6 disabled in Windows Made sure my internet provider doesn't use DS-lite to connect me with the internet Used http://www.canyouseeme.org to make sure the port 75.190.210.172:10308 can be seen ... it can. I entered the local IP of the machine into the MP Connect By IP option ... 192.168.1.xxx:10308 ... still cannot connect to the server. Made sure the Public check box on the server is selected. Made sure the server can be seen on My Server List (go to Profile then press the My Servers). The server comes up in the Local Web GUI user interface when the hyperlink is clicked on. Rebooted the server many times Not only do I not see the server in the MP dialog ... I cannot enter the server's IP (Connect By IP button) address to connect to the server either "Server Offline" or "Address Not Available". This was working swimmingly until the last update ... now ... not so much.   9. I've been watching a lot of Ralfidude's videos and one of the cool things he does is switch to a view which allows you to see the weapon flying through the air and hitting (hopefully) the target. What key stroke combination shows these graphics. Thanks, C. T. Blankenship

This happens to me if an update is applied on the client side and the server was not upgraded to the same version and vice versa ... the short and sweet answer is all clients trying to connect to your server and the server itself must be running the same version of DCS ... currently this is 2.7.5.10869. If that isn't the problem make sure that when/if the server is/was rebooted check the IP address of the server machine using the Windows command prompt and typing ipconfig. Many times when I reboot the server TCP/IP address (the last three digits of the TCP/IP address). When this happens to me I have to go into my router and change the port forwarding options to the correct TCP/IP. This also has to be done in the SRS-Server software (if you are running that program) For example, a Windows update changed my server's IP address from 192.168.1.12 to 192.168.1.13 ... so to fix it I had to perform the above steps. If you are running the latest version, go into Multiuser and search for CHAOS's Hog Pen ... you should be able to see it. Also make sure the port of the server is 10308 ... this must also be configured in your router's Port/Forwarding section. You can also log into the website and select "User Profile" next to the "Login" text ... look for a button on the left that reads "My Servers" ... if everything is kosher then you should see your server in the list.   11. Thanks LT ... I figured out what the problem is and unfortunately it is resulting from my multi-screen setup ... Multi-monitor distortion on edges of left and right monitor (on three monitor setup). This is VERY disappointing as this functionality is pretty critical to how I play the game. The three monitor setup is not critical since I have an ASUS ProArt 27" 2560x1440 as my main screen and I use TrackIR so my visibility is good. So, to fix it I had to go back to the 7680x1440 1 Monitor setup in the Control Panel -> System tab. It's OK I guess but now I'm back to the distortion problem ... sigh. Maybe BigNewey can wade in and give me some ideas. Thanks, C. T. Blankenship
  12. In the Controls tab ... with the Axis Commands filter applied is a mappable action called Zoom. At the beginning of this ordeal I was using the X-56 H.O.T.A.S. Prior to the 2.7.5 update I was able to map one of my rotary dials on its throttle to the Zoom action thereby allowing me to zoom in and out so I can discern distant objects more easily. Now, when I try to map the dial to the Zoom axis nothing happens. Note that when I am selecting the control I want to use to Zoom that DCS recognizes that control when activated and allows me to assign it. So, I know that DCS is successfully receiving the signal from the HOTAS. I then tried to map the zoom to a second dial on the X-56 throttle ... same problem. Then I tried a rotary dial on the throttle ... same problem. Right about this time my TM Warthog H.O.T.A.S. arrived. So, wishing to start with a clean slate, I uninstalled DCS and wiped out the directory since it was not completely removed since DCS is smart enough to recognize a file that doesn't belong to it during the uninstall there by leaving the install directory. So, I deleted the C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics folder. I then reinstalled DCS, A10C and the A10C II along with NTTR. I then installed the Warthog throttle, stick and pedals. Next, I tried to map the slider on the right side side of the Warthog's throttle to Zoom ... with great anticipation I tried this out in DCS. No joy ... no zooming allowed. Next, I disabled TrackIR and retested ... again ... no joy. I've done everything I know to do. Prior to the release I was able to map this action to the rotary on the X-56 with no problems. I'm at a loss ... any new ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, C. T. Blankenship
  13. Can anyone tell me what the following variables stand for and do? FOV = 1.106157; (Field of View) viewDx = -1.162454; (?) viewDy = 0.000000; (?) Also, I basically lucked into this solution ... I just started plugging in numbers after almost giving up and got lucky. I have no idea what possessed me to try and fly while the only functioning monitor was my front one (both the left and the right monitor were dark). As soon as I pressed the Instant Action buttons for Cold Start (A10, Nevada, Cold Start) the two outer monitors came alive and the distortion was gone!   14. The final result ... now I just have to get the color palette the same between the center and the other two monitors. Freakin' YAY!!!
  15. I nailed it ... it was a three step process ... first one is illustrated by image 1 ... I setup my three monitors as 2 1 3 with 1 being the main monitor ... Next I setup the Graphics options as illustrated in Image 2 ... Finally, I modified a .lua file I scrounged up on the internet and modified it to its final form ... which follows. Download the file and put it in your C:\Program Files -> Eagle Dynamics -> DCS World OpenBeta -> Config -> MonitorSetup subdirectory. Your location may vary based upon which drive on which you installed DCS. The setup consists of two ASUS - 31.5" WLED 2560 x 1440 165Hz Curved Gaming Monitor (VG32VQR) and one ASUS 27" 2560x1440 (PA278QV) monitor in the middle. One weird feature is that monitors 2 and 3 remain blank until you enter into game play.
