Hi guys, This flight went well IMO. Still trying to be smooth and fly where I want to but I'll be honest I didnt plan on ending up where I did :megalol: Please check it out if you have 10 minutes spare. All comments appreciated. Well thanks for the replies. I need to think what I want and how much I want that and to be honest I dont have the money to build / buy a better spec machine at the moment but I do fancy building one in the future. I'm very happy with my spec as I only had a 800 Mhz system before and this computer was brand new and fairly cheap at around $200. ( £130 including basic DVD Rom, 19" benq monitor, basic mouse and keyboard). I've added: Logitech G11 Keyboard Speed link Cougar SL-6630 Joystick Belkin n52te game pad wireless PX xbox controller External LG DVD RW Drive The system is very fast IMO for everything I do at this stage so I think I will just be happy with it for now and add Windows 7 in time. :D

In another thread the idea of overclocking my CPU was mentioned but I dont think I can on my system. If I attempt to I know it's at my own risk, no worries on that score and I know it isnt an exact science. But I would like to investigate the idea. I have looked up guides to overclocking and it doesnt look like my BIOS will give me the kind of access I would need. Info below might be of help: If it isnt possible to overclock through the BIOS would it be possible through a Windows program maybe? If so which program ? phew, Just got home and got a nice few replies :D Thanks @EtherealN Hmm 2 core and one of me cores is at maximum :cry: Well I live and learn :megalol: Like I say I have no problem playing the Sim so maybe I should worry less and be proud of one of me cores :thumbup: @Distiler Yup I'm running Windows XP When I next re-instal I'm going to instal Windows 7 Ultimate. Looking forward to the better core management :D @Falcon1906 I agree now, 25 FPS isnt as bad I was thinking. When I play World at War I get 40-50 and Frontlines Fuel of War about the same. I did read that thread and just got lost in all the tweaking I was doing with no luck. Think I will start again but gently rather than tweak it all at once :huh: @Frazer Thanks for them figures. Hi guys, First off thanks for all the support you have given me. I know there is a great seach function and lots of threads RE: FPS. I have been tweaking settings in all kinds of ways with no improvement. :helpsmilie: I've played with graphics.cfg, options.lua and my graphics settings with no luck. Also reducing limiting what my computer is running. In cockpit I get 24 - 25 FPS regardless of detail. If I move forward close to HUD I can get 30 FPS External of Helicopter I get 47 FPS I'm happy with this as a high quality image setting but wished I could tweak a little more from the Sim. Having said that I am having no difficulties flying at 25 FPS but when I hear people setting max FPS to 60 I feel a little sad :( I know it's a CPU hungry Sim & I havnt got the fastest computer on earth but when I check the game is only using 50% CPU so it cant be pushed that much.... can it? :cry: I'm going to reset my options / graphics files back to their original setting but if anyone has some ideas I'm willing to try anything. Maybe list some tweaks / changes I could try and I will try each in turn and report any change in FPS. I'm attaching my files as I have changed them. Just watched your track and it was great watching how you went about the mission. Okay I have a strange question to ask but I hope you follow my idea::music_whistling: I brought a Steering wheel a long time ago from a charity shop for my PS2. Works fine on PS2 for general playing, isnt anything flashy. :thumbup: The Pedals connect to the wheel by a 5 Din socket Well I cant find an adapter for this to USB but think I can convert 5 pin din to mini din :) Then mini din to USB :) Where was I? :huh: OH yeah. After all this what do you think are the chances I can set up the pedals as rudder input for DCS Black Shark? I just want to see how foot control feels but without the expense. I know I could get a decent setup but for the cost of a few connectors it might be fun. What do you think? :pilotfly: Have you done anything similar? :D
