  1. Thanks. I was having trouble working out that there was actually a second fuel cock for the drop tank. I assumed that the drop tank just fed the other tanks automatically. Then I checked the manual which didn't make it super clear (I didn't read the whole thing) and then I watched Laobi's profanathon on the matter and got the idea. There seems to be a fair bit of stuff about the torpedo drop-tank but the slipper tank rarely gets a mention. I wasn't sure if the slipper tank worked just like the torpedo tank or not. As far as I can see it does. I very nearly finished Mission 5 but took a hit to various engine parts on the way back and the engine conked out on me with a full tank of fuel (ish). Scratched the paintwork up pretty badly on landing hitting a tree. Thanks for the replies! CptT
  2. Hi I am playing The Big Show campaign and I'm struggling to complete the missions due to a lack of range. I notice that I have the slipper tank attached. Does this just get pumped into the main tank or is there something I should be doing to use the fuel in it? On mission four, I have to fly about 300 miles and also fight at least one enemy plane and I don't seem to have nearly enough fuel for the job. Any hints or tips? Thanks. CptT
  3. I replayed the first mission and then fired up the second mission again. It took ages to initialise but it did run eventually.
  4. Hi I am playing on OpenBeta and I have recently come back to play the Epsom campaign after a long time away from it. I am on the 2nd mission, I loaded the mission, and it is completely unplayable. Nothing works: I can't click any controls and none of the buttons work at all. I am using an Index. I have played this mission before, a while ago, and it was absolutely fine. Does anyone know of a fix for this? I tried playing a Normandy map free-flight mission that I built for myself and that runs very smoothly. I can only assume that the problem is with the number of assets present in the mission. Cheers! 5. Hi I watched a tutorial video where it stated that the engine temperature will show in the IHADSS only if the engine temperature is too high. I am flying in Syria with an external temperature of 20C and I always have the engine temp showing in my IHADSS just below the torque percentage. Anyone know why this is and if there is anything that I can do about it? Cheers! CptT
  6. Hi Should the moving map be working in the Syria map? I set a free-flight mission up starting in Incirlik but the moving map doesn't show up after start. I set another free flight mission in the Caucasus map and the moving map came up straight after the INU finished aligning. Cheers! CptT
  7. Hi I have seen a few posts that say that the Virpil base is much better than the Warthog base (in particular the Warthog base has a very heavy spring) so I am considering investing in a Mongoose base. I have a Dx Desk mount for my Warthog base I was hoping that someone would know if this is compatible with the Mongoose base or if there is an adaptor for it. The mount was quite expensive and I would prefer it if I could reuse it. Cheers! CptT
  8. Thanks. I've never expected to catch an Axis fighter but I would like to be able to keep up with the other Spits. I'll give all those suggestions a go. CptT
  9. Yeah, I think I meant 2650 RPM. That could be a part of it. I'll see what I can do to iron that out and see what difference it makes. I haven't been going that high. I doubt I'm up for an hour most missions so I'll try that.
  10. Hi I've recently started playing on multiplayer servers and I have real trouble keeping up with other Spitfires and Mustangs. What are the top tips for getting maxiumum speed out of the Spit? Mostly I'm topping out at about 1650 RPM with 7 boost as this is the max sustainable settings. Are most other people sticking to this or is it possible to push past this for sustained periods? Cheers! CptT
  11. Thanks. I'm slowly leaning towards buying a 3D printer. There's one for about £230. It seems if I'm going to spend that sort of money anyway, might as well have a printer as well (not that I know where I'm going to store the thing). Would a 220mm x 220mm plate be large enough to print the items for this stick? Cheers! CptT
  12. What is the largest part that needs to be printed? I don't have a 3D printer but I'm considering if it is worth getting one and, if so, what size I am going to need. Cheers! CptT
