I've just got a Quest 3 and found it a great alternative to the G2, I have found the edge-to-edge clarity adds to the immersion and I am able to get what looks and feels like G2 visuals to me. The head tracking is miles better than the G2, I used to have the lights on full in the room and sometimes position in VR would jump around with the G2 when it lost tracking, Quest 3 I was flying and didn't realise my wife had turned the lights off and the headset didn't miss a beat. I am also finding using the targeting pods easier with the quest 3 not sure why. Overall happy with the change to the Quest 3, I had to play with all the settings to get the performance and visuals I am happy with, but that's what we sign up for with DCS VR. Would recommend giving it a go if you are looking to change the G2, just buy a better head strap.

I think turning down the level knob on the top left screen is the way to do it, saw it in a Casmo or wags video.

Mine was similar, used for for an hour with no problems one day, next day display was continually shutting of but steamVR, WMR, dcs all working as they should just just no display. The previous problem I had that was cable related always came with an WMR error or some other software crashing, this time is was just no display hence looking into those settings.

I had the same issue with my G2 with the new version of the cable after a month of use, HP sent out another one and I had the same problem. I found the issue for me was that the WMR setting for putting the display to sleep was to 5 mins, not sure if an update change this setting but once I change that to never it stopped shutting down the display while using it, both cables work fine.

Anyone know what thing that looks like a line cutter on the nose is for? Some kind of tiedown point?

Haven't tried Taz1004's mod I will look at that. I'm running through Steam so I assume that is a "Verify integrity of files" option?

I am having an issues with trees in VR, I attached my best effort of a photo of them. They appear with a flat square around them then slowly render but look terrible when low or on the ground, very blocky and almost like they have no textures applied. I have tried changing all the settings regard trees and scenery but no change. When flying over caucuses map the whole forest is moving as trees are changing shape and the shadows are changing as well. I did have a trees mod installed but that was in 2.5 and I believe I removed the relevant files. I have just installed an RTX 3080 ti but had the issue when using RTX 3060 ti as well. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
