  1. Mustang................A quick question. I'm about to order and torn between getting the Super Hornet HOTAS and the HOTAS Max which is a Hornet throttle but Viper stick. It seems the Viper stick will do everything the Hornet needs but have extra buttons to use. It also has a palm rest. Does the Hornet stick get tiring with no palm rest?
  2. That's why i'm not waiting. I'll just suck it up and pay the $80. I hope I get one that works right. I'm tired of the Warthog HOTAS.
  3. I'm considering buying WW HOTAS. Shipping is $80 to Colorado this morning.
  4. Oops! I just saw this can't be reproduced. So, it never was a problem. Probably why it never bothered me.
  5. It's not a bad thing. We can't see the landing gear animation either, but it's pretty nice to see when we do. Any noise added is good. As long as you know that's all you'll be adding that you can see/hear. Videos are different and we get to see what we can't when flying.
  6. Yes, I mentioned sound in my first post but no way to see the animation realistically. The sound will be good.
  7. Is this still a problem after 2 years?
  8. Way to turn it around bud. Nobody is more into immersion than me but this could only be seen while flying outside the plane like superman. You don't like realism with your immersion? Go ahead and put the animation in the gun but in reality nobody would see it.

    HOTAS

    You look just like Alonso.
  10. No, I pay through the nose for it too. A 10CM extension is another answer but it's no cheaper. It is a bit more precise along with a softer action.
  11. Ok, thanks. That's just a little over what I use 10CM would be 100mm
  12. What size do you like best for the Hog? Hornet?
  13. I don't know how long it will last but i'll give a positive vote for Maingear. Mine only cost $3000 but runs sweet. Zero complaints.
  14. I use a 10CM (4") and it feels just right with the default black spring. More precise and not so stiff.

I'm considering taking a chance. Lots of people who bought the Warthog had problems and I never did. Not even stiction. Maybe i'll be lucky with WW too. If I did have a problem I might just buy another brand of base/stick instead of trying to get it fixed. I don't see anybody who has a problem getting it fixed. All they get is frustration. Is the throttle ok, or does it have problems too? I wish another company made a specific Hornet HOTAS too. I'm picky about realism as much as possible. That's why I bought so many Warthogs. It just seems the HOTAS to use for the A-10.

    HOTAS

I'm not sure i'm ready for their CS. Especially, being in China. After reading this thread i'm thinking another brand. I've had 6 warthogs because I tend to buy and sell things. I've never had one small problem with a Warthog but I know lots of guys have. It's all how lucky we are. I could buy a WW and have no problems at all but my odds of that with Virpil are much higher. So, I need to think about this some more.
  17. I was about to order one of these. Thanks for the thread. They aren't getting my money.

How does it feel with no extension and default springs?

Yes, a good investment. Positives are beating up the negatives.

If you wanted to buy a specific Hornet HOTAS. Would you buy a Winwing?
  23. I'd grab it from ED for $39 while the sale is on.
