As title really - under what circumstnaces are the TCN and ILS options not availbe on the left hand side of the HSI so I can box them and make them visible on my HUD? I don't player super regularlly so it's obvious I've potentially missed something on manual startup, but everything else was working file. I could still input TCN frequences and see the elements on the HSI display itself, but I didn't have the option to put them on my hud... What step did I miss? Cheers in advance, Roy

Hi The other day I flew together with a guy online. It was one of the popular servers in EU. I was in the F18 for some bombing. My wingman said he would do CAP and the he further said "then I will take the F16, cause the missilis are broken on the F18". I did not question it, I was busy. I haven't done much A2A in F18, but I think it's about time to do some A2A training. Now I wonder, is there any issuses with F18 and A2A? In case it's true, it would be nice to know, when training. Hello! I don't know if that is normal or not, but flying the quick free siria flight, if I want to make a hover, well.. I first slow down, but as soon as I do, I have to press the right pedal to maintain straight line. No problem. Normal because torque, I supposed. The problem is I cannot maintain the straight direction I was flying to even pressing the right pedal fully. It yaws continously to the left.

No matter what I do in the DDI setup, I can't get the Lat and Long to show up in my ATFLIR DISPLAY. even on A/G mode.

Does anybody know the limits on distance of the emitter from the designated waypoint? Experimenting with the new PB modes. All HARMs missed. From what I could see they ended up impacting at the designated waypoint ... which suggests that the targets were too far away? 1.5 nm doesn't seem like it should be a problem - but there must be an algorithm for the relationship. Then again, maybe I just did sommink wrong!

Im sure its not a bug, but my TGP in Litening and ATFLIR is grayscale instead of green. I probably downloaded a mod and didnt remember it. Is there anyway to change this? Are there any settings for example, or does anyone know which scripts would've been altered or how I may find the originals?

Since the last update, I dont appear to have my JHMCS anymore? I know you need to enable it in a mission and am told in the instant action, its on by default. However, in both scenarios, I cant get it to display? I have checked my controller binding for the HMD display brightness knob works fine and I can also try using the mouse on the switch , it turns fine, but no display. In the mission, I ask ground crew to equip, they do and and the NVG's work,, but no HMD Any ideas?

Not liking the latest A-10CII behavior of TPOD and weapons. With pod I get chronic ,weird gimball roll lock or random crazy slew. Lets say I lock on to target at some distance with angle offset of 80 degrees between by nose heading and course to target. Got target nicely locked up, a quick shoot of laser to get slant dist. I then roll on to the target preparing to lase and weapon release. With nose almost on target, I get GIM ROLL from TPOD, and it goes crazy, slews wherever off the HUD. wrecking the shot. Just crazy effed up behavior. MavH sucks. In day light, it will not lock on nice contrast target like a BTR or tank. I make Mav my SOI, slew reticle over target expecting nice lock. THe reticle just glides over the target, and wont lock. But on rare occasion it will lock. Unreliable. Worked well in A-10C v1 so there. In sequel not so much.

Last night, flew the F-16 as part of REDAIR, assigned to Russia since Iran wasnt allowable. Loads consisted of 2x AIM-120Bs and 1x AIM-120C and 1x AIM-9X. Got into the air and went to MM mode and noticed only 1 Med Missile available, so I thought I might have moved during the reloading process. Got back on the ground and tried again. Switched to MM mode again to check and only the AIM-120C was recognized. I could not step to the Bravos. I cant post a track due to mods being used on the map.

Is it just me or have the F18's displays suddenly become a lot less bright? Yes the switch on the right is on day setting, en the knobs above are on day as well. contrast and brightness only make the display dim further down. -
In version 2.6 I could use the Litening's FLIR and lock onto a moving ship and now I can't in version 2.7. It won't lock onto a moving target so I can use GBU10 or AGM-E on the Target. IT won't LOCK anymore at all...I have tried so many times now it's .. well , you get the idea. Anyhow, CAN ANY of you LOCK onto Moving Targets now with this new version. I havent tried the moving tanks again just yet because of the results I am getting with the LARGER, SLOWER moving ships . If I can't track one of them , I have little hope of locking onto a moving Tank . HELP !~ ?? ~!!!

I have some concerns regarding to Litening pod and AGM-65s. First of all, the image quality of the TGP is very bad. Not in terms of resolution, but distinctiveness. No matter how much you play with the brightness and contrast everything is either too dark or too white or everything is just grey. Usually with IR view the ground units should be quite distinct on MFDs (white or black). Well that depends on thermal radiation of the ground too, but clearly something is wrong. Cloudy or sunny, always problematic. The AGM-65D WPN page display is surprisingly better in target distinction. I don't know how sniper pod will look like (if we will have it), but nowadays I almost gave up using the Litening. Second thing is when in PRE mode for mavericks, aligning is so difficult because the mavericks fail to obtain a lock on ordinary map objects. I try to do the alignment on my way to target area, but lock acquisition is really really picky. Maybe the only thing you can lock on except the ground targets is the huge metal electric poles. I almost never find something proper to align the mavericks until I reach the target. Then once I reach the target, there is almost no benefit for doing that. I don't think that image processing is currently included in the code, which should be there IMO. Because scripting will not take us very far. Normally you should be able to lock on most of things with corners, taking into account the heat dissipation around, weather conditions; which would be the true generic, reliable and high level simulation solution. AGM-65G image acquisition works the same way. There is the sea, there is the HUGE ship, with very clear view. But you cannot obtain a lock until certain distance because the image processing is not there... The only thing that matters is the scripted behavior, that will never let you lock before you reach certain distance... If you are scripting this, please script it well, so that we can lock from 400 nm. We will still have unrealistic product, but at least we don't have trouble in using it. I really hate complaining and writing all these, I know its EA, but I love Viper. Making movies with the Viper and being proud of stunning graphics is fine, but there are lots of operational issues right now. Is this really so difficult to fix? This is one of your most modern products.

Do most of those familiar with AGM deployment on to moving targets tend to rely upon the auto handoff on the D and G models. I've been practising its use lately and I find that it's often easier to re-designate myself directly through the AGM seeker head as the TGP handoff does not see all that reliable. I have found that It does work from time to time but not always. And yes, I am correctly bore sighted.

Hi, I just updated to the 2.7 stable, clouds look great now in VR. However, I just noticed today that when I fire HARMs in HAS mode, they loft like crazy and head off in some seemingly random direction, even though they were locked to a target that is clearly active in RWR. I shot 8 HARMS at different targets with the same result. Has anyone experienced this? It was working before the update. Also, this was online. POS mode seemed to work fine.

Hello, I have been able to use the tpod no problem in the past. Now with the ATFLIR and Lighting I get data displyed on the DDI but no image. I am not running any mods. I also did a fresh install of the F18. I am not sure how to run repair. I can not find the repair tool.

Hi guys, it was probably been talked about in the past, but the kill radius of rockets are nowhere close to reality in DCS. Eagle Dynamic really should do something about this. As an example, the HUGE S-24, which as an explosive charge of 271 pounds and a proximity fuse that will make it explode a 10 feet over the ground has a kill RADIUS of 300-400 meters!!!! (984 to 1312 feet). If the stats in wikipedia are true, that makes that thing extremely powerful against soft target! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-24_rocket Playing around with that monster rocket this week made me realize how weak it is in the game ... barely scratching infantry that are close by. Because of this and their weight, it is a lost of time to carry these around. Am I the only one who thinks that the rockets kill radius should be revised? It seems odd that such an important stat seems overlooked while so much efforts are put on corner case missile path trajectory.
