I'm not sure if this is intended or not, as I can't see it in other people's screenshots or videos documenting the refreshed FC3 cockpits. On my install all the steam gauge instruments have a cloudy texture over the top of them. Is this intended or an issue on my end? I've verified my install, and obviously, I'm using the default cockpit. Thanks!

I just opened up DCS to do the F-15C campaign, but upon entering, I realized my key binds weren't working. I opened up controls expecting me to have set something wrong, only to see that all my controls were gone and that about 80% of the controls were greyed out, without any option to add new controls. The only controls that I could add were view controls and function key controls. I scoured the internet but couldn't find much on the topic. I deleted any custom content I downloaded, such as a mission, and the clickable FC3 mod that I wasn't using. I deleted all the input files from the saved games folder, and also from the main folder, in the Mods/aircraft/Flaming Cliffs/Input. I also went and updated the drivers for my HOTAS. The HOTAS I have is the Winwing Orion 2 throttle, with the F-15EX II grips, and the F-16 EX joystick. Nothing that I have done has helped at all. I was even playing the F-15C earlier that day and everything was fine. Any help would be appreciated!

A dumb question: Which model C or E provides a better dogfight?

First off, a big thanks to the developers of the Sinai map. I posted nothing for a long long time.. but I'm kinda back i guess. Thanks to the Sinai map, and thanks to the incredible mission editor, the realistic sounds that we have now (love the distance sounds so damn much), and all those nice camera settings. The feeling is just "there". Honestly, this seems to be the first map that i'll keep. I've erased all other maps since I got the Sinai map. I bought all the other maps excluding the WW2 map (always hated WW2 stuff) so i skipped it. The Problem with almost every DCS map is that the Ground looks too simple, mostly no good Satelitte images, missing acsess ways to the building, missing or wrong buildings on every Airfield. A lot of "copy/pasted Buildings and many missing Parking lots for Vehicles, no main Gates, missing roads and so on. I've created tons of building after gathering hours and hours of informations from Nellis AFB, Falklands, and so on you name it, but i never finished one Model because the lack of ground detail in DCS was always frustrating. I started to use the scenery removal tool but this is also extremely limited and too much time consuming, more about this later. Looking on Bing maps/google, then back in DCS.. and the frustration was there and it was overhelming. I always wish that DCS will oneday use real Satelitte images to "create" buildings kinda like MSFS2020, but i don't wanne go into this topic right now. Another wish is that we (the community) will oneday be given the option to edit Airfields, add Landmarks etc much easier (MS2020 is a prime example here). Now we got DCS 2.8xx, and the Graphics have improved. Let me say that i can only play games or any Simulation in VR, looking on a screen no matter how big it is is too boring for me. There's still my room, and nothing is life size, the depth is missing etc. But in VR..one word, thrilling, insanely amazing. I've not yet made it to fly in DCS because i just "sit" outside the base with my VR Headset and big headphones on watchig everything like a spotter in real life.. simply astonished. Now... Tel Nof Airbase... again, a lot is missing, and i hope the Developers will hear me cause i really wanne push this Base to get more and more realistic. There's some stuff that could be erased from the map, and some simple stuff that the Developers could add. I would try to get as many buildings and stuff done as possible. Sure i need time, and time is rare cause i'm a full time artist and maybe i would need some support in the long run. Lets start with the Main Gate where i found a pretty good image on google, then i checked the spot in DCS... and sadly there's almost nothing at this place. Just the parking lot..and one lamp Pole...i was like.. anyway lets try it. I started with the Base guard "F-15", which is placed on some stands.. i played around with the Collision Shell and i was suprised to see that it finally worked out.. after that i was thrilled to create the 2 Spotlights on the ground which should illuminate part of the Bottom of the Eagle... and that also worked out pretty well..Call me nuts but to be honest, checking this location in VR is so damn nice, i played some chill out music and i was sitting for an hour on the fence watching the F-15 in VR from every angle.. incredible. Thanks to ED again, you bring a feeling back that i had the last time a very very long time ago. Next step would be to create the Main Gate buildings in the background As some of you may has noticed, the fence was from @Massun92, the palm tree and additional trees was done by myself, also the Light Poles on the Parking spot, you'll see much more later. The F-15 is the original Static Model from ED. Sorry for making this post so long but there's so much on my mind right now... Next post in a minute...

Hi! I love flying in the F-15C and the F-22, and i wondered if there are any squadrons recruiting. I live in the EU and i got around 110 hours of flighttime. I still got things to learn and i want to learn with someone, and just fly multiplayer missions. If there are any squadrons that would accept me, please respond here. Thx - TCZ

I was trying to edit the RCS of the F-15C, but I was unable to find the F-15C.lua file. This is if it does exist. Is there an F-15C.lua file? If so, where is it? If not, what file has the RCS?

The F100-PW-220 engines in DCS's F-15 have a "Max Power Switch" that is not modeled. Could ED model the Max Power switch?

So we were flying in a server our group has set up and we noticed, (myself included), that the F/A-18C's we missing more than the F-16's. So I did an analysis on it. Made a video of my analysis and I wasn't surprised by the results. ED has done a good job on this. For reference;

Blindsided : 5th revision (v6.0.5.0) Original release in 2012, a decade of getting 'Blindsided'! Updated for modern DCS, now fully voice acted and re-scripted with a new twist or two! Mission download here! Co-operative mission supporting up to: 46 player slots (2-6 players recommended default, 3-12 on difficult). Flyable aircraft: CAS (Air to ground) - 2x A-10C (Old), 3x A-10C II, 3x AH-64D, 2x AV-8B, 3x F-16, 3x F/A-18, 2x JF-17, 3x KA-50, 3x Mi-24P, 3x Su-25T CAP (Air to air) - 2x F-14B, 2x F-15C, 3x F-16, 3x F-18, 3x MiG-29, 2x M2000C CSAR (Search and rescue) - 2x Mi-8MTV, 2x UH-1H [Briefing room] We have not received any word back from the eastern patrol, since they reported hearing heavy vehicles in the pass. We can only assume the worst. Twenty minutes ago we received confirmation that insurgent forces are attempting a surprise attack on the Batumi aerodrome. Be advised we have received reports that the insurgents are able to mount a credible anti-air threat, furthermore there are indications they may have the support of unknown airforces. US Specops are right now sending ahead a two man TACP unit, designation 'Ferret', to provide coordination for a counter attack on an insurgent outpost located due east. Before we can rid ourselves of the outpost though, we must succesfully defend Batumi from the insurgent forces closing in. Be aware that we are facing at least two groups heading in from the outpost. Local defense forces are engaged with light enemy units as I speak. Your aircraft have been fueled and armed, there is no time to waste, scramble! Aimed at: Pilots reasonably comfortable with combat tasks and start up, moderate difficulty level. Pilots up for more challenge can enable higher difficulty at the beginning of the mission (Radio options, F10 Other). Featuring: * Co-op and single player support. Note: Difficulty higher for single player. * Plenty of scripted events with radio traffic and detailing. Fully voice acted! * Combined operations of air to ground and air to air aircraft, all playing important but not interdependent roles (Set higher difficulty for best effect). * Adapting mission design: Air to ground, air to air and combat search and rescue operations are each an optional component of the mission. All you need to do is fly the right aircraft and the mission commences. * Dynamically generated randomized air to air threats for the entire duration of the mission. You can't be sure where the enemy air assets will strike from. * Dynamically generated CSAR rescue operations for both stranded aircrews and vehicle crews. * Up-to-date tasking can be requested even if a player enters the mission in the middle of it. No more guessing what state the mission is in. * Choice of two difficulty levels. * Some more aggressive, scripted AI behaviour. * Some munitions restricted through the warehouse functionality for a proper challenge. * On the move troop deployments. * Airlifted JTAC available (but not necessary) for operations against the insurgent outpost. * Optional AFAC available for the defense phase of the mission. * Adapt to rapidly developing situations as you fight an enemy that fights back rather than passively waiting for you to attack. * Be a part of a team where your actions truly matter to the outcome of the mission. License: Freeware, distribution allowed as is with all files and attributions intact. All rights otherwise reserved, unless specifically agreed upon. (It's ok to ask.) Mission download here!

I keep seeing eagles flying around at mach 2 with ease. Yet, when I try that in the flanker it takes 5 minutes just to get to mach 1.5. I figured it was the weapons drag+fuel weight, so I put it in the editor with no weapons and reduced fuel so it had the same internal fuel as the eagle. The eagle still accelerated faster than the flanker. Ok, so maybe the extra weight of the flanker is causing more drag which is more important than thrust at supersonic speed? I thusly reduced the flanker's fuel even more until the flanker and eagle had the same total weight. Now I was certain that the flanker would leave the eagle in the dust because it has 44 more kN of thrust with the same weight. The eagle out accelerated the flanker again. This time I let the simulation run until the eagle had reached 2000 kmh. The flanker was still creeping toward 1600 kmh. My question is, why is this so? Does the larger airframe create too much drag to accelerate much past 1500 kmh? Does the airframe compromise aerodynamics in favor of high AoA controllability? Do the air intakes on the flanker not perform as well at supersonic speeds compared to the eagle? Does the space between the engines on the flanker cause some kind of drag at supersonic speeds? tl;dr Why doesn't the flanker's additional 44 kN of thrust make it accelerate faster than an eagle of the same weight? flanker-eagle-acc.trk

I would like to edit the RWR on the F-15 to allow for easier defending of missiles. Is there anyway to make the dots that surround the edge of the RWR screen lines instead of the dots or something similar? I haven't been able to find any files that are related to the RWR of the F-15C compared to the other aircraft like the F-16 or F-14. Stock RWR Very rough version of what I want to do.

Hello, most of you probably know this already, but I'm bringing this up again. The F-15C (and the A-10A) does not have any altimeter setting keybinds. This effectively means that the barometric altimeter cannot be adjusted, which is a critical oversight especially considering the probable rise of instrument flying due to the new (amazing) clouds and the upcoming weathersystem overhaul. This has been an issue for years. I believe I last posted about this like 4 years ago. The other FC3 aircraft apart from the A-10A have the binds (so the A-10 should get these too, along with the F-15) and the do work, for reference. The name for the keybinds are: "Altimeter Pressure Decrease" and "... Increase". I hope this is finally resolved to bring all the modules to the same state systems-wise within the FC3. Regards, MikeMikeJuliet

Hi there, When playing dcs world, i decided id go back to the aircraft i started in, the f15, to have some fun. Flew it for a half an hour or so before closing the game to run errands. However, when i came back and tried to play it, the f15 wont recognize my HOTAS inputs. What's weird is that it can recognize the button presses on the hotas, but not the axis inputs. So for example i can press my dispense chaff, flare, or any other button on my t16000m hotas setup, but it wont recognize the pitch, roll, or throttle axis at all. Also, it flew fine when i flew it before running errands, and i didn't end the game in any way that could harm the pc or its data. (quit to desktop, wait a few min, and then hit shutdown) i've tried deleting and reinstalling the f15, then the entire game, and still no avail. I thought it could be a hotas bug so i flew the f18 and su25t, but ran in to no problems at all. Throttle and stick both worked perfectly fine on the f18 and su25t, but still just wont work for the f15 only. i've tried remapping keys, clearing the axis and reassigning, but nothing works. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Hi! I am a new player and I am wondering what module I should get. Because It is cheap, I will only be getting one of the FC3 aircraft (A10A, F15, Su27/J11, Su33 and Mig29). I have created a poll as to which aircraft I should buy and could I ask you why you chose that option in the discussion below. Thanks!

Is the only thing you do in this campaign a familiarization flight or are there other missions. Every time I go into the campaign it just let's me do that one mission even thought I've already completed it successfully. Is there something I'm missing?

I know this might be a fairly dead product (development wise), but is there anyway that you could add the code to get the FC3 Eagles RWR (TEWS) and Weapon Management displays to export. I would love to build a cockpit where I can have that on my screens and not in the 3d model, but the FC3 code is pretty lacking when it comes to that.

ED doesn't believe that developing a full fidelity F-15C is cost effective, because it's a pure fighter. Are they wrong? Would you buy it?
