Hi, Started playing DCS in VR some weeks ago and I'm having a blast. Bought the F-16 immediately and started the learning courses designed for it. However, I'm having issues with my controls when flying missions as they only allow me to use the F-16C_50_easy controls / version of the jet. I rather enjoy the more complex and detailed controls of the F-16C Sim version. This leads to my question; is it possible to have the full simulator controls for a mission flight, or is gameplay in mission mode limited to a simplified set of rules (/controls)? I guess the same question applies to multiplayer when I eventually embark on that adventure. Appreciate all feedback!

Hey everyone, I WILL UPDATE THIS REGULARLY WITH WHAT I AM WORKING ON NEXT Just making a quick post to inform all the Viper drivers that I have started a more advanced tutorial series for the F-16C in DCS. So far, I have gotten through the start-up, which is by what I have seen one of the most accurate and detailed videos on starting up the F-16C, I also just got done with a Taxi and Take-off video and I am currently working on the landing video. I am going to do a separate video going over more advanced portions of taking off and landing (i.e., taking off and landing with an asymmetric loads and belly landings). The videos I have currently made have already gotten a good reaction which is why I am making this post. My videos are aimed towards beginners and are even for people who have been flying the F-16 in DCS since release but even if you have been flying since release you might still learn something new. If you watch any of my videos, please feel free to correct something that you feel is incorrect or feel that it should be added. I know there are a bunch of tutorials and I have just about watched them all and none of them go into as much detail as mine, so I feel that what I am offering is new and refreshing especially if you want to operate and fly the F-16 to as close to its real-life counterpart as possible. So, check out the link below if you want to. DISCLAIMER: I am not a real-world fighter pilot by any means but due to my job as a Weapons Troop (AKA: Load Toad or 2W1) I have the amazing opportunity to talk with real-world fighter pilots of F-16s, F-15s, and even the F-22 (current jet I load on) and F-35. This opportunity allows me to cross reference a lot of info to make my videos as accurate as possible but yet easy to follow for even the newest of FNGs. Buonasera a tutti. Grazie anticipate, e starsi bene tutti. J.

So sorry to do this to y'all. I have googled it, I have watched the vids. I went through Chuck's guides. HARMS on station. ME mission I created, flying toward a Fan Song site. I start in HSD (right MFD). Power on pylons left/right (for some reason not on in air start ME). Hit AG mode from ICP, make sure Master ARM is on. Wanting to go HARM HAS mode. I end up at SMS page, no HARMS listed. nada. If I go into inventory, they are there, but I cannot select them from the OSB's relevant to them. WPN page shows OFF. I cannot turn them on. I have removed all weapons from all stations except the two HARMS to try and trouble shoot. I know it is something simple, but I have literally spent 3 hours on this collectively. I even watched WAGs video on HARM in HAS. Appreciate any help, no matter how dumb I will feel afterwards.

A new mission is available on the users files: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3315288/ Iran and China have entered an alliance of mutual support which has bolstered Iran's influence in the Persian Gulf. As a result tensions between this alliance and the US and Europe escalated to the point of war. This mission is set early in the conflict and involves providing CAP for ground attack flights. Fly a F-16C 4 ship armed for air to air into Iran and prevent red fighters from interfering with blue strike groups. Red forces are randomized as are some blue forces for replayability. DCS version 2.5.6 (stable) Please report any issue or bugs to my by PM, thanks.

hi! Like in the F-5, I would love to see the sight camera available for other aircraft like the F16 and F18, 'tape to the hud' adding also the MFD recording as option if available on that aircraft, like in the F-18. Then also make it available externally on our saved games folder as movie file. Ideally having a datacard, save it there. I believe it will increase squadron debriefs quality, and help creating promotional/marketing videos for DCS as well. Also, not having it mandatory shown when flying could be an option, even if saving the file. Thanks for the passion and dedication Diplomat

Hi, In my humble sugestion our Viper needs a little weight on the tyres like the Hornet for example. Actually the Viper looks it is "floating" and not in the ground with weight on wheels. Thank you in advance, F.

Blindsided : 5th revision (v6.0.5.0) Original release in 2012, a decade of getting 'Blindsided'! Updated for modern DCS, now fully voice acted and re-scripted with a new twist or two! Mission download here! Co-operative mission supporting up to: 46 player slots (2-6 players recommended default, 3-12 on difficult). Flyable aircraft: CAS (Air to ground) - 2x A-10C (Old), 3x A-10C II, 3x AH-64D, 2x AV-8B, 3x F-16, 3x F/A-18, 2x JF-17, 3x KA-50, 3x Mi-24P, 3x Su-25T CAP (Air to air) - 2x F-14B, 2x F-15C, 3x F-16, 3x F-18, 3x MiG-29, 2x M2000C CSAR (Search and rescue) - 2x Mi-8MTV, 2x UH-1H [Briefing room] We have not received any word back from the eastern patrol, since they reported hearing heavy vehicles in the pass. We can only assume the worst. Twenty minutes ago we received confirmation that insurgent forces are attempting a surprise attack on the Batumi aerodrome. Be advised we have received reports that the insurgents are able to mount a credible anti-air threat, furthermore there are indications they may have the support of unknown airforces. US Specops are right now sending ahead a two man TACP unit, designation 'Ferret', to provide coordination for a counter attack on an insurgent outpost located due east. Before we can rid ourselves of the outpost though, we must succesfully defend Batumi from the insurgent forces closing in. Be aware that we are facing at least two groups heading in from the outpost. Local defense forces are engaged with light enemy units as I speak. Your aircraft have been fueled and armed, there is no time to waste, scramble! Aimed at: Pilots reasonably comfortable with combat tasks and start up, moderate difficulty level. Pilots up for more challenge can enable higher difficulty at the beginning of the mission (Radio options, F10 Other). Featuring: * Co-op and single player support. Note: Difficulty higher for single player. * Plenty of scripted events with radio traffic and detailing. Fully voice acted! * Combined operations of air to ground and air to air aircraft, all playing important but not interdependent roles (Set higher difficulty for best effect). * Adapting mission design: Air to ground, air to air and combat search and rescue operations are each an optional component of the mission. All you need to do is fly the right aircraft and the mission commences. * Dynamically generated randomized air to air threats for the entire duration of the mission. You can't be sure where the enemy air assets will strike from. * Dynamically generated CSAR rescue operations for both stranded aircrews and vehicle crews. * Up-to-date tasking can be requested even if a player enters the mission in the middle of it. No more guessing what state the mission is in. * Choice of two difficulty levels. * Some more aggressive, scripted AI behaviour. * Some munitions restricted through the warehouse functionality for a proper challenge. * On the move troop deployments. * Airlifted JTAC available (but not necessary) for operations against the insurgent outpost. * Optional AFAC available for the defense phase of the mission. * Adapt to rapidly developing situations as you fight an enemy that fights back rather than passively waiting for you to attack. * Be a part of a team where your actions truly matter to the outcome of the mission. License: Freeware, distribution allowed as is with all files and attributions intact. All rights otherwise reserved, unless specifically agreed upon. (It's ok to ask.) Mission download here!

We have an M5.2 Tape F-16. However, we don't have many features. So, I would like to list the features not in the M5.2 in the M6.2 Viper which DCS could make: Improved IFF system (Mode 5 waveform with better distinction between friendly and enemy aircraft, maybe unclassified) Introduction of AIM-120D missile (two-way datalink, improved navigation and High-Angle Off-Boresight capabilities, a doubled range, but not necessary for DCS) Introduction of more advanced A/G weapons (GBU-39 SDB, GBU-54 LJDAM, unclassified) Integration of improved Link-16 functions with net-centric capability (UI Probably, likely unclassified) Integration of a new Universal Armament Interface to standardize communication between the aircraft and the weapons, illuminating the need for new OPF tapes with every new weapon system (UI again, probably unclassified) "Clean-up" tape (intended as correction to imperfections found in earlier phases, which are just bug fixes so nothing classified) Included minor updates like Auto GCAS capability nearly eliminating Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT) accidents, a leading cause of F-16 loss of pilot and aircraft accidents. This is probably unclassified. I might be wrong about some things, but I would like to make a feature request: I hope we can add as many of the unclassified features as possible. Thank you.

The 388th Virtual Fighter Squadron of the 132nd Virtual Wing is now recruiting. We are looking for pilots flying the F-16C. Pilots that apply should be experienced flying and operating the F-16C, as our training program is designed to teach you how to fly, fight and operate as a flight in a MP environment. High level of the mandatory flights with an Instructor Pilot (IP) during Initial Qualification Training (IQT) and Mission Qualification Training (MQT): Flight 1: 132nd Comms and ATC and airbase operations. Getting proficient handling comms with GND, TWR , Approach and AWACS. Flight 2: Tactical formations and turns Flight 3: 1vs1 WVR Basics Flight 4: 2vs2 BVR Basics Flight 5: SAT 1 Basics (Surface Attack Tactics) Flight 6: MQT checkout. Combining what you have learned in a simulated combat mission to show proficiency as a wingman on 132nd events. After IQT and MQT then pilots will move on to various topics in Continuation Training to gain additional proficiency. During all phases there is a heavy emphasis on self-qualification lessons, so new pilots will need to be able, diciplined and motivated to conduct training on their own to make sure to progress in accordance with the training program. About us: The 132nd are a mature group of laidback guys with a strong passion for military aviation. The 132nd was first established in 2013, so we have been around for a while. We are in the EURO zone and for timings and connection issues, we are primarly interested in pilots in this region. We conduct training events Wednesdays at 1800Z (2000 CET) and Sundays at the same time we conduct either a combat event, or normal or advanced training. We mostly fly PvE, but are often combining that with human aggressors flying Red Air to augment the AI. We also conduct a range of combined events with various organizations here in DCS to add the immersion for our combat and training events by bringing other virtual squadrons in to fly at the same time. Before applying: Before you consider applying, check that the following description fits you: - You know how to fly and operate the F-16C, including aerial refueling. - You are able to attend events wednesdays and sundays at 1800Z / 2000 CET. - You enjoy "slow paced" gameplay, where focus is on learning and becoming proficient in the aircraft to get the most out of this simulator, rather than fast paced kills on a PvP server. - You enjoy immersive and realistic missions. - You own the PG map. If this sounds interesting, please apply on the 132nd Virtual Wing website: http://132virtualwing.org/index.php/page/recruiting If you have any questions, please post it here in this thread, or send me a PM.
