In this clip I fire a total of 4 AMRAAMS with a TWS lock at an F-16 with my F-18. Only the 4th one manages to start guidnace to the target. Before the start of the clip I had already fired one AMRAAM from long range (~50 nm) and it went up high without lofting even tough I had a TWS lock. This can be seen at the start of the clip as an active AMRAAM on the right MFD. The 2 other missiles go stupid in the same way. I want to say this again but this happens only SOMETIMES but when it happens it is infuriating. Video is from today. This has happened in the past to me but was fixed before. This crash related bug has returned. Has happened twice in 10 Cat Shots. Hookup to CAT 2. Launch off the deck. As I do my clearing turn the game completely crashes a few seconds after leaving the deck. Happens so often I started to test it with the F-14A&B to see if it happens. The F-14 has never crashed. Hello. I just got back into the hornet and have encountered a real challenge when in BVR engagements. A head on, no threat scenario is all and well, but I am struggling to perform BVR tactics like cranking when being engaged by a serious threat without loosing my contacts when maneuvering. I figured out there is a spotlight function which follows the TDC, but it seems rather unintuitive to have to first select the target, and then activate the spotlight function as well as adjusting elevation if the target starts to maneuver as well. So, how do you most effectively work the radar in BVR, in both RWS and TWS modes? Thanks for any inputs! -
Right now I'm looking into the Orion F18 HOTAS from Winwing to replace my TM T16000m stick + TWCS throttle. The Orion looks really great and has all the controls I'd need, plus that preorder price on their website is extremely enticing. I just don't want to be left without a HOTAS for too long and I have until July 22nd to return the TM package to Amazon. Does anybody (or Winwing themselves) have an estimate on when the unit would be shipped out & delivered after preordering? Thanks

Our goal with the 21NSQD is to provide a high standard of training, exercises, and operations to complete combined with fun and lots of events. Note: The 21NSQD is currently a German based squadron (all leaders are from a German-speaking country) but we also want to have members from all over the world. In order to apply for our squadron, you have to meet certain requirements which are listed below: Minimum age of 16 years Minimum 150 hours of flight hours in your main airframe (Goal: You need to be experienced with your airframe) Keyboard or HOTAS (HOTAS is preferred) Good English knowledge We also provide training for specific airframes for new pilots without any flight experience in DCS. If you choose to join our squadron as a new aviator, the minimum flight hours do not apply to the minimum requirements. For already experienced pilots, you have to complete a basic course, which is the “V1 Checkride Course”. In this course, we will provide basic information about our workflow in our squadron for you to study. Does anyone know where the files are for radar performance? I have the CJS Super Hornet Mod, and in the .lua file for it, there is a line that reads: ' RADAR = "AN/APG-73" ' I believe this means the .lua finds this radar file to use in the super hornet. Where is the AN/APG-73 file located?

So, I recently downloaded the CJS Superbug Super Hornet Mod. I know this mod runs off the existing F/A-18C files, so it shares the same characteristics. This should mean it shares the same RCS, turn rates, turn radius, acceleration, top speed, and radar strength. How can I change the RCS? Because the Super Hornet has increased radar stealth characteristics. Also, if I can increase radar strength as well that’d be wonderful. I’ve never done modding, and I’ve never messed with the game files before, so any and all help is appreciated. Thanks!

Any chance we could break the Jet over 7.5G? Limit the use to a few seconds when at or above corner speed, or under 7.5g? I notice no negative affects in prolonged fights at 8 to 9G. There should be consequences.

I have spent a multitude of hours researching how I can try to edit the avionics and flight model of the CJS Super Hornet. Alas, I have had little to no success. I’m at a loss right now, and I would really appreciate some help. I know little to nothing about coding or computers, so this is all very confusing to me. From all my research, I found that the player flight model for the hornet (also used by the CJS Super Hornet) is a professional flight model. This PFM is a .DLL file and is encrypted. I heard the avionics are also encrypted (probably also in a DLL file [i never found it so I wouldn’t know]). Can someone help? I got DCS for my 15th birthday in July, and I found the Super Hornet a while ago. I just really want to make the flight model more like a Super Hornet. If someone knows how to edit these DLL files(idk if that’s legal. Is it?) please teach me. Or maybe if someone knows how, you could edit it for me I suppose? Maybe a developer could help me, someone with knowledge and authorization? Please, I just really want this. I know the Hornet and Super Hornet are really similar, but I love the little details. I love small changes that make each aircraft different, even if it’s two variants of the same aircraft. I love dogfighting, and I’ve heard of the AoA and slow speed performance of the Super Hornet being even better than the Legacy Hornet. I’d love to experience that. I don’t intend to sell or pirate the DLL files or anything. I know they took years of research and development, and I deeply revere that dedication. I would never steal that work. I’m not trying to pay anyone for this, and I don’t expect someone to help. I’m not entitled to help. However, I just wanted to reach out and see if I can find the right person who wants to help me. All I want is to fly the Super Hornet with my little brother and my friend. Please help, I’m out of ideas. Also, if anyone does help, here are the changes I would love to see: Decreased RCS to around 0.1-0.5 m2 (I think it’s in the .lua but I’ll put it in just to be safe) Increased radar detection range. (The AN/APG-73 did 60nm, but the AN/APG-79 does 80nm; I can detect a plane sooner than Legacy Hornet can) More consistent Radar STT lock (DCS Legacy Hornet loses STT lock a lot; appears to almost be intermittent at times) Increased thrust (to emulate increased subsonic acceleration) Better AoA performance (Legacy Hornet flew at max 35o AoA; Super Hornet allegedly has higher max AoA; 20% better seems like a good estimate) Increased lift (Better slow speed characteristics; more control at low speeds; 20% better seems good) Increased pitch rate (Nose pitches up or down quicker and with more control; maybe 7o faster) Increased survivable G load (requires higher G-force to break wings off airframe) (If I over-explained, I’m sorry. I just don’t know if I used the right aviation terms and want to make sure I’m understood properly)

I was making a custom livery for the F/A-18E Super Hornet (CJS Mod), and I finished the first dds file. When I exported it from GIMP and booted up DCS, it is just rendered as black. It was working before. I would periodically check the skin as I worked on it, but now it won't work. Someone, please help. I worked for at least 30 hours on this.

Does anyone know how to increase the amount of G’s pulled before the wings break on the F/A-18C? I would like to mess around with this and see what’s possible

Would it be at all possible to have aircraft carriers work like airfields, given that airfields have parking spots, i.e. 1,2,3… Giving the maker the ability to place aircraft on the cats lined up like they are in the image below or pick where aircraft spawn on elevators. Thanks!

Hi All, New user trying to get into the air. I have the F18 and having major issues getting into the air. I have learnt the startup procedure. All good. I have the TM warthog throttle and F18 stick, stream deck, saitek side panel and velocity one pedals. Long story short here is my issue. 1. The pedals show up twice in the controls list (Same thing happens in MSFS but they work there) 2. The warthog throttle works with the throttle in the plane. Great. 3. But the pedals also work the throttles and not the rudder!! Have cleared the bindings from the pedals (I think) but still they work the throttles. Any advice welcome. Thanks Josh

These missions have a light story behind them, data cards to go along with each mission, and proper briefings. We try our best to maintain professionalism, teach proper procedure, and most of all have fun and work as a team during these missions. They are also persistent, if a group of units dies one mission, they will not make it to the next mission. We also utilize several scripts made by the community to enhance realism, such as the IADS Script, various Moose Scripts, and so on.
