Building a mission on the Syrian map. M-60 tanks have a range ring in excess of 4NM and are engaging at that range with moving targets. T-55 has a range around 1.3NM. Chieftain MBT had a range of about 1.87NM. The later two are reasonable. Clearly, the M-60 105MM gun does not have a range like this.

I'm writing an "interceptor" Lua script, for air policing and such, and it works very inconsistently. What it does is it allows a pilot to fly up to an AI aircraft and perform an intercept signal (rock wings and/or flash external lights). This causes events that can be interacted with by the mission maker, but the default behavior is for the AI aircraft to "follow" the player aircraft. The script simply pushes a "Follow" task to the AI task stack. This has turned out to work very inconsistently. I have had several situations where I've been testing it and it works. Then, suddenly, it just stops working. Pushing the task to the AI does nothing. There is o following at all. Nothing in the dcs.log. I have not found any pattern to why this can suddenly stop working. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi all, Scenario - 2 ship of either hornets or vipers (makes zero difference) set to travel to waypoint X where the ROE changes to designated only and the attack group action is given. Target is either an SA-6 or SA-11 or SA-10. AI won’t fire on an inactive SAM site as we know so they are set to red state. ISSUE - AI will not fire unless target is exactly 47nm or less away. 48nm? No. 47nm? Yes. I chose three different Sam sites to test individually to see if it was something to do with detection signal of the larger Sam’s etc but that makes no difference. Despite target type, AI altitude, speed, heading and if the Sam site is in a valley or open ground the AI will not launch greater than 47nm. 47nm is fine for SA-6 and SA-11 but not the SA-10 as it has an approx 70nm launch range. Is 47NM the max AI launch range?

Hi I have just returned to DCS after some time with MSFS 2020. I wanted to start sling loads again as I had done before. I have just landed my Mi8 next to an ammunition crate Now the problem. Chuck says \ opens the menu. I have a note that says I used # This brings up the Main menu with F5 F7 & F8 only - no F6. It does not matter what keys I use I cannot the menu showing except # - with no F6. Any idea what the problem is? Help please! ChrisJD

Ai Petrovic has a problem if he loses his aim and goes behind the terrain. If something else appears near his line of sight at that moment, he continues to lock on to that new target without letting it know he is pointing at another target. This is how I selected and confirmed an Apache (NOT the yellow helicopter item) in Ai Petrovich, which flew behind terrain. Normally Ai would report losing the target (spinning right), but this time Ai did not break tracking, and started tracking and homing in on Kamov (spinning left), which was between the Mi-24 and the Apache. I just noticed this...and its Unique to the Normandy Map. As you scroll away from a building using the mouse wheel, it suddenly vanishes, roll the mouse wheel 1 click forward...and it re appears. Just 1 click and a whole village can Vanish ? On all the other maps this does not happen...its a gradual fade till the buildings are very faint....But they STILL THERE Can someone else experiment...we need UGRA to fix this...its Wierd I have posted this on the Normandy thread as well.

Not calling this a bug, I assume I just don't know what I broke; I was landing at a site about 7500', air temp was around 0*c, anti-icing running, cabin heater, pitot, clock, and battery heaters running. Ice warning still came on but no obvious effect on performance. Landing unremarkable. Sat light on wheels for about 5min. When I went to take off again, I noticed all fire warning lights were on, both overhead and on dash. No suppression discharge, no visible fire on external view. Generator failure lights also on. Aircraft still functioned normally, took off, conducted another landing at 10,000'. En route, I popped the suppression bottles but the lights remained on. Returned 30nm to starting point, landing normally at 500'. Any ideas what I missed that might've caused a false warning? Or was there some sort of fire bug that has no effect?

Compare the first picture taken with "Overcast and Rain 3" preset, where airport lighting is illuminated, to the second picture taken with "None" preset, cloud density 9, precipitation "thunderstorm," where airport lighting is not illuminated despite worse visibility. Note: Supercarrier lighting and CASE III functions normally with the same legacy static weather setting, indicating a terrain issue rather than a weather system issue.

Can someone explain me after stable version got update new AI F-15E can not use precision weapons like GBU-31 just when it come to drop point turned back and land . What I am doing wrong or this is bug ?

Two Helis have at their last WP the command LANDING. It`s always a airport. They prepar for landing but stop at about 20 feet above ground and stay there. Any idea why ? Maybe it`s a bug. -
I have been flying the JF-17 for a couple of years now and one of my favorite weapons to use is the LS-500. for some reason after releasing the bomb it just falls away and doesn't track. This is after waiting at least 5 minutes for the bomb to Aline. I have used this bomb more times than I can count and never had any issues. Also this only happens on the open beta version the stable version they still work fine.

If you tell them to attack a particular unit they will attack other units of the same type, for example a couple of Su-30's are to attack a particular patriot site using the Perform task/attack group command, but will also attack others even when the "SEAD" command is removed from them, and you set the ROE to "only designated". Also, when you set it to use all of their weapons, and group attack, they do not do this. I expect both Su-30's to fire all their Kh-31P's at that one target group, yet one fires both its missiles, and the other goes after another site about 40nm away.

I am trying to play a Radio Transmission upon starting the mission. I have tried setting an uncompressed, compressed 16-Bit WAV file 44.1kHz and also OGG file, but nothing plays back in the mission. I can hear the static from the radio transmission but not the voice file. I have turned up POWER as well to 600 but to no avail. PS. the Frequency is set correctly to 124 just as the unit is by default. Does someone know what is the correct procedure and format to playback audio files in a mission?

As per the title, should HARMs be able to target SA-6 launchers? I thought the Straight Flush was the only radiating unit in an SA-6 battery? -
The fog of war in 2.9 is so thick, I cant see any enemy units at all in F10 view! Red AC/ground units will blink on a couple times then gone. I can fly over an enemy location and see all the units (labels too) but in F10, nothing there.... Is this a new feature? New video setting? All settings correct in ME Also noticed supercarrier TACAN has about 60NM range max......at all altitudes. Is that new too?

Hello, with the new C-RAM finally we have a Close in weapon system but despite its low success rates sometimes, it does engage AT-11 Sniper and friends which leads to Blue on Blue incidents. -
Attached to the table obtained with getAmmo() applied on an F18 in late activation. The typeName should be "weapons.missiles.AIM_9", as is correct with other armaments, but currently it is "AIM_9". The code I am creating is to set the items in the warehouses based on a template that is given by the arero in late activation. The new warehouse API is fantastic but with problems like the one mentioned above it becomes a half-baked tool. The problem mentioned above is difficult to solve even by cross-referencing the data with getResourceMap (attached file)/DBUG_getAmmo.luaDBUG_getResourceMap_wsType.lua

Module Manager => Available DLC=>Campaigns Where are the a-10 and a-10c II DLCs? There are no A-10cs in the plane selection menu. Thanks 4 fix that!
