IceMaKeR's Cockpit

Hello All,

Here are some pictures of my Cockpit, it's Wip but starts looking good!

The most parts of the front dash have been made by a friend, Dimbug with a laser cutting machine and based on ReactorOne draws!

The MFDS and Engine panel are LCDS the other instruments are rendered by a pico projector.

Except the fuel panel all the front dash is functionnal.

Also the Warning panel is functionnal.

The CDU is a Tactile USB screen that fits exacly the size of the real CDU! I plan to put cutted buttons on top of it to get a more realistic look

All is based on IO Cards except HSI, ADI, Altimeter that are encoders on a Leo bodnar card.

Curious what you do when you want to take your hands off the stick or use autopilot? It looks like the stick want to go full deflection with the weight?

As others have said, really good work so far!

No, the stick can stay in center position without any help he goes full deflection only when he reaches more than the half way.

I put it in this position to take photos of the front dash.

Nice pit icemaker. What are you using for the gear handle?

It's an iron tube i have bent and 3 plexy circles glued together.

Thank you guys..

Some News from My A-10C WorkShop.

I'm changing iocards to Arduino (Thanks to overpro, who made this possible!), so i started the full conversion with the front console.

everything is wired on a home made Matrix PCB plugged to an arduino board AT MEGA 2560 with an ethernet shield to receive data directly from DCS via UDP.

I added an SSC32 Board to manage all my console servos (5 for now but i can use up to 32).

file.php?id=33202&t=1

file.php?id=33145&t=1

i Fixed the Board on one of the Front Console Door for easy maintenance.

file.php?id=33203&t=1

file.php?id=33206&t=1

I passed through the console cables cleanly

file.php?id=33204&t=1

Once every panel is wired up

file.php?id=33205&t=1

And finally the front console fully working...

file.php?id=33207&t=1

Some esthetic work is to be donne, like eyebrows and T-Handles, but everything is working so i can fly with it!

another thing i created specific metadata for windows to show all my homemade interfaces to show more sexy!

file.php?id=33139

here a little video to demonstrate the operation of the front console fully functional (well OK I have a servo motor that died during the video!)

The correct ramp start procedure is not always followed as it should be but it's just a demo of how works the Cockpit / simulator interface.

Maybe not avaliable yet because is upluading on youtube.

Hey Ice. C'est tres bien. Any chance we can begin putting some of your learnings into the wiki. PCBs, schematics, etc?

Very nice indeed Icemaker  I am having a few UNO's with Ethernet shields but I haven't cracked how to extract the values from the UDP nor sending values back.

Will be monitoring you thread closely.... And subscribed :smilewink:

Cheers

Hans
