Model Helper Points (Connectors)

Here is a basic list of some that I have found out on my own, and I encourage any others who have gathered some knowledge on them to post them here to make a sort of directory. Some are standard across all models, and some are model-specific, while others are custom to the user's naming preference when creating a model.

 

BANO_0/1/2 - controls the flood of the white, red and green lights respectively.

 

RESERV/0/1/2_BANO_0/1/2 - controls flood of secondary lights.

 

RED_BEACON - controls position of rotating beacon.

 

RESERV_RED_BEACON - controls position of secondary beacon.

 

MAIN_SPOT_PTR - positions flood of main landing light.

 

RESERV_SPOT_PTR - positions flood of secondary landing light.

 

FARA_3 - positions flood of third landing light.

 

Gun_point - controls the position of the gun.

 

Pylon1/2/3/etc - controls the coordinates and rotation of the pylons.

 

Point-probe-M/M01 - controls contact position for refuel probe (Su-33 only maybe, didn't work for F-15 FM).

 

AIR_REFUELING_RECEPTACLE - controls air refueling probe contact point (also in code).

 

DUST_WHEEL_001/002/003 - controls the location of touchdown dust for main, left and right wheels.

 

FLOW_001/002 - controls the positon of the left and right wingtip vapor condensation (also in code).

 

AFTERBURN_001/002 - controls the location of left and right FORSAG afterburner model I think (also in code).

 

FUEL_JETTISON_001/002 - controls the location of left and right fuel dump effect.

 

INVERS_001/002 - controls position of contrail effects (also in code).

 

FLARE_DISPENSER_1/2 - controls position of flare release position (also in code).

for lights I was able to name the connectors what ever i wanted, actually for everything i have named them whatever i wanted,...

 

those are just for whatever the Stock planes use :)

 

But It Helps.

i think an intern with nothing to do should be able to make a List of systems that dont use any LUA that are linked to connectors by name, CURRENT AND FUTURE Connector names.

 

Since it seems like they are shifting a lot of stuff to use connectors (effects, etc) instead of LUA Line w/ Coordinates.)

Connectors have actually been used since FC2 IIRC.

yeah, they are putting more emphasis on them now it seems.

 

older models only have connectors for gun and pylons,

 

 

newer ones however got connecters everywhere, lol.

I guys:

I try to create dummies for contact gear gorund compresion....ect, I create 3 dummies for main gear, and 3 for right main gear, 3 for left main gear, I used a-10.dll, when I export to dcs, my aircraft start well, when it starts to walk on taxiway the nose and main gear not work fine, What is the problems, I select all Dummies TYPE:CONECTOR and the dummies are calling Point01, Point02, ect.ectNuevaimagendemapadebits-3.jpg

Sorry to pull this post from the dead, but I had a question about these, specifically to the INVERS_001/002, I noticed in the main list something about "alos in code" is mentioned, does this mean I have to add code to my lua file or else they pick up a hard coded location?

I think the INVERSE uses the Exhaust Coordinates from the LUA. (not sure)

 

Easiest way to see if it's working is to go to high altitude and see where the source of the contrail emission starts.

Well I have the exhuast set in the lua (and working fine), and its at the right points, but high altitude contrails come out to me what looks like 0,0,0 of the model

 

I think the INVERSE uses the Exhaust Coordinates from the LUA. (not sure)

 

Easiest way to see if it's working is to go to high altitude and see where the source of the contrail emission starts.

what's wrong at your side guys ?

AFTERBURN connectors used for both exhaust smoke and contrails currently

if there are no AFTERBURN connectors then program use lua engine nozzles pos coordinates from PlanesConst.lua or from you mods folder lua file if you have your own aircrafts - positioning both exhaust smoke and contrail effects

 

INVERS connectors not used yet unfortunately

i hope this will be used in the future for contails

coz with different animated INVERS connector we will able to push farther back the contails depending on thrust or exhaust gas temperature to a point when condensation starts to make visible

you need to specified nozzles in YOUR lua file or in PlaneConst.lua or as AFTERBURN connector

INVERS is not good

except if ED already implemented in next versions

 

we know you are a tester, so i think you cant talk about what you are testing but maybe you can tell us which version you test

1.2.7 or over ?

 

maybe ED already deleted contrail from AFTERBURN connector but not imlemented yet for INVERS

 

AFAIK in 1.2.6 heat blur, afterburner flame, afterburner illumination (with omnilight), exhaust smoke and contrail used with AFTERBURN connectors

 

one more: or what kind of engine do you use for your aircraft ? (hopefully not a prop) :)

That's what I am trying to say, I have the nozzles specified in my lua file, which is an AI B-17, the heat blur comes out of the exhaust fine, the contrails dont. Last night I tried the INVERS, but as I found out and you said, they dont work currently. I will try changing them to AFTERBURN tonight and see if that works.

 

I am working in 1.2.5 right now, trying to do as much in release as possible or else no one else can enjoy it ;)

maybe a dive into SFMData LUA might reveal something.

I didnt notice it, possible its hard coded... or I am missing a little chunk of code somewhere...

A-10s use its own special AFM readable connectors

AWACS and other cargo aircrafts (props as Tu-95 as well) read PlaneConst.lua file

they use Engine_Nozzle_Pos setting in 1.2.6 and in 1.2.5 too

but use these coordinates for exhaust smoke too in 1.2.6
