hi, new here, learning bombing. when i try to drop bombs by using tdc depress to select and lock target, the target(diamond) raises with the asl line. i can move the target around with TDC direction and then have target designated, but what i want to do is, if im accurate on the first depress why wont it just stay, why do i have to bother with tdc direction? same goes for when i try to take a way point and set it to target, wont stay locked on, im sure im missing something simple, as this has been the case through my DCS learning

So started noticing this issue back when fuse options were first brought to DCS WW2, basically it seems that the bombs phase right through units that they hit, the collision with the unit seems to start their fuse (so instant fuses detonate when they should) and it does slow the bombs down but penetration seems way too extreme, with bombs punching in one side of a ship and out the other without much difficulty when ideally they should be 'stuck' in the ship or bounce off landing in the water on the side they were released from depending on the specific bomb, ship, bomb velocity and impact angle. I would expect it would be quite rare for most of these bombs to go in one side and out the other on the vast majority of the ships we have in the game. See the attached track for an example(BombCollision.trk), I'm using a mossie with the GP mkV (30 min fuse) to make it extra apparent, and using a supercarrier as my target as it is very easy to demonstrate the issue, however the problem seems to apply to all ships.

Hello folks. I am a new pilot to DCS and I am trying to understand why I have a target on lock to drop GBU's I pickle, it drops, count down and it miss's the target. I made sure it was locked every time.. I even see the bomb search when its falling... Any tips?

Hi everyone, Probably more of a pedantic one, but the current FAB-100 (note not the FAB-100 bomb that can be found on the I-16, MiG-15bis and MiG-19P) and FAB-250 bombs are actually depicted as OFAB-100-120 and OFAB-250-270 bombs respectively (they even have it written on their respective models). Now with update 2.7.8.16140 OB, we have a new bomb implemented, the FAB-250M-62, as an actual FAB bomb, would it be possible to change the FAB-250s display name to be better in line with what the bomb actually depicts? For anyone wondering FAB- bombs are high-explosive, general purpose bombs, whereas OFAB bombs are high-explosive fragmentation bombs.

Hi! Still noticing that the CCRP marker moves during rolls and is greatly offset when you actually reach the target. It works fine with a TGP since you can reset it, but with no TGP it's way off and very hard to get back onto the stpt. This was supposedly fixed in last patch, but it still remains an issue. Any updates on this?

Hello everyone, I want to create triggers that will activate when any kind of weapon is in the zone - any missile, any bomb. What I want to do is activate the trigger whenever a runway is hit with a bomb or missile, but I don't want to create triggers with a gazillion lines. I'm hoping there's an easier way to do this than I know of. I don't fully understand all the trigger options, although I've been reading through the documentation. I considered LUA scripting but if you knew me you'd know I should stay away from that - I could very well start a real war. So does anyone have a direction they can point me? I'm happy to do the work as long as I can get a general idea of what options to use. Thanks, Dave

None of the bombs I launch from the 21 work (at any launch parameters). All of them just hit the ground and do nothing (as the video shows). It works on all FC3 aircraft, just not in the mig21. Can anyone else confirm? Last time I used bombs was a month ago and they worked fine, so not sure if the recent updates did something or I did something in this mean time I can't recall. Have tried verifying files, reinstalling the mig only (haven't got the time to fresh reinstall the whole game yet). Dcs 2022 06 29 20 24 14 185_cmp.m4v

Hi everyone, If a bomb with a delayed fuse impacts a ship, it doesn't move with them and will instead remain fixed relative to the world when they come to a stop. If the ship is moving sufficiently fast enough (or with a bomb delay long enough), the bombs will phase through the ship and be fixed underwater. The distance may open sufficiently enough so that when they explode, no damage will be done to the ship. This is particlarly important for situations like the Falklands War, where the Argentinians made use of bombs with delayed fuses, allowing them to attack from very low altitudes (and thus degrading the effectiveness of shipboard radar). At the moment this kind of thing is more difficult to impossible unless bombing stationary targets. bomb_ship_impact.trk
