I realize this is a rather pointless topic without a track or specific example but why does it seem so much more difficult to see or lock targets on the radar in MP vs SP? In MP If I train the radar on a BRA given to me for a bandit, I see nothing. Or if I can see the datalink HAFU on the radar I can’t lock it even when it’s within range and not in the aspect to be notching me or be hidden by terrain. In SP, if I see a HAFU on the SA Page or the radar, all I need to is move the TDC over it, query its altitude, slew the scan volume to that and within a few sweeps I’ll get a hit. In MP this doesn’t work. Why is that?

Since a few weeks, i can´t see any F18 on my Datalink (HSI page or Radar page), neither can ppl see me via DL. This started after the additional Link4 got implemented, also i only encounter this with the F18 clients in Multiplayer. AI planes seem to appear correctly. On startup i activate my DL (yes, the Link16), i can see contacts from Awacs as well other donors directly such as F15, F16, etc - but none of those donors are actually F18, despite them having DL active as well. Aren´t they supposed to appear as donors also ? And why can nobody see ME although i got my DL activated as well `? As far as i remember, there is no additional setup to do apart from powering the DL. Am i missing something ?

Hi there, i was practicing ACM modes on the viper. I noticed that in SLEWABLE ACM mode, the radar goes all the way left and right, irrespective of slew/right left. I can see it with the antenna position indicator, and i also tested that i can lock a target while slewing "full right" while the target is on left gimbal. Why am i able to slew left/right if the radar is fixed at full sweep in this mode? Is that a bug or am i missing something?

Hello everyone, I apologize if this has been asked before but i couldn't find something similar to define my issue. I am still learning the viper so please excuse my ignorance if i am doing something wrong, i have tried to read the manual as much as i could. I still cannot find what might be wrong. Using CBU 97 or a similar loadout and i get the coordinates for attack. I just put my TGP on target. Bombs are ready and i release them on time. Then i see that bombs are ALWAYS falling short or behind that target. Most of the time behind target to the north and no hit unfortunately. At first i thought it is BA, so i set it lower to 1000 or 500ft. I got closer to the target somehow but still miss! (Could someone explain depending on what we are setting this BA? i can guess that if it's higher the bomb shells will spreat out to a wider area? i realized sometimes they don't even explode if i set it to 500 or lower.) My second guess: WIND. I am checking it but there's no wind at all so they shouldn't be dragged by the wind. Then i tried something else and i slew my TGP before the target like 400-500ft to the south (considering i'm flying north) and then i hit the target. How is this possible when there's no wind at all? What do you think i am doing wrong? I am going to reproduce it and upload a track as soon as possible but i thought someone could enlighten me. Thanks!

Anyone getting a freeze up on cold start it seems to happen when I switch to stores heading alignment or try to switch past it. I’ll try and see if I can get a track posted. Update: I could not find a track as it CTD after I try to click anything post freeze. Unless anyone can direct me on where to find the track in an alternate area.

Multiplayer mission as Redfor on Syria circa 2018 ~0600. No AWACS in mission, but was expecting F2F DL. No amount of mucking with switches showed our 4-ship to any of us at any time. Even attempted sending a DL air contact... would give alert to wingman/element, but nothing appear on HSD for them either. IFF Left short/Long would show brief green circle on FCR for targets..so that was working, just no persistent F2F...even cycling IFF L/R All/None and All/Fght/TGT didnt change anything Have track, but its MP and ~60mb so probably not helpful.

When attempting to drop two JDAMs on the same target in PP mode, the first hits the target correctly but the second always falls well short. Not just a few yards short, but not even in the vicinity. I enter all the parameters, select QTY and box two stations, then proceed as normal to release the weapons. Both weapons release but only the first gets to the target. What am I missing?

I'm just cheking here to see if I'm having a "brainfart". Weapons Armed (yellow) WAS rockets (only have 1 type loaded) Tell George to lock up target with rockets activated. COOP indicating in IHADSS. Align to target, solid marker, everything looks good. Press fire.... nothing happens. IHADSS shows "WEAPON ?" as I pull trigger. Change CPG to free weapons, he fires as normal. Switch back to COOP, no go. Change to guns, fires as normal. Sooo, what am I missing fellow rotorheads?

I just installed the OpenBeta version so I can use the South Atlantic map. I tried running a mission with the Viper and went to boresight the mavericks on start up, but the boresight button is missing. I tried running the mission without it, thinking that maybe it's automatic in an OB update, but the mavericks wouldn't hand off in manual or auto mode. And it doesn't look like they're boresighted, because the maverick crosshairs are way off from the TGP.

The autopilot and the FCS are not working in my F18 . I have tried the deadzone adjustment without success . my X56Rhino is new and calibrated . indicators show that the system is active the aircraft just porpoises through 10 degrees + and- AOA the stabs don't seem to react I thought about uninstalling and reinstall but cant find a way to do it. Any help would be appreciated.

Every now and then when I align the HMCS during a cold start the procedure fails. At the first step, when I go M-SEL and align my head/eyes with the large cross, I get a "FAIL" message at the end. When this happens it seems there's nothing I can do to fix it. I have tried turning off the HMCS and start over but I always get the "FAIL" message in the end, which then prevents me from continuing to the other two alignment steps. Does anyone know what might be causing this? I suspected it could happen if I'm aligning during rearming but I have also seen this when the jet is completely undisturbed so I haven't really found a correlation to what else I'm doing during the cold start.

Hi all. As the title says, I just cannot make the ILS get to work in a TCN ILS/LOC app in NTTR map (this happened with Nellis and McCarran airports) I have In DED SEQ TCN in T/R, BCN correct (LSV), TCN channel works fine (12X for Nellis AFB, also I get the audio signal from the audio panel) ILS is showing ON, have CMD STRG indication, frequency is correct (109,1 for Nellis), and approach course correctly set (209) In HSD PLS/TCN is set, and DME shows below 20 nm distance. Problem is in ADI I get both red flags in the flight director and ILS just wont work. Am I forgetting to connect something or is this a bug? I would appreciate any help with this. Hello - I hope you are doing well. I cannot access the air to ground radar on the f-16! Based on youtube tutorials it should be as easy as pressing the AG button right below the HUD. Also when I am in the FCR page there is no option for ATG radar. Is my DCS in an old version that does not have this or what? I am using steam with automatic updates and the game seems up to date! Please help!

Was flying mostly the F-16 lately and went back to the F-18. I never have issues with radar locks in the F-16, however I had heard about difficulties/bugs in the F-18 when trying to perform a STT Lock. That is: you have a radar contact either in RWS or TWS, and when trying to STT, you lose lock after a few seconds. I went through reddit and the forum to try and figure out if it's a bug, if it has since been fixed, or if it's working as intended. I wasn't able to find something recent that would answer that question. And, I have started some SP F-18 missions and I indeed can't keep a STT lock for more than 2 seconds. So if it's a bug, I assume it's still not fixed? And if it's working as intended, can someone kindly explain why the F-18 radar is that "temperamental" versus the F-16's? Thank you.

In a downloaded mission (ISIS Camp) i'm in cpg seat and in a hover. Sliding slowly towards the right side of a tiny valley. Use "slide left" to get in a better position: "Coming left" That goes painfully slow, and mostly backwards. Does George not know how to compensate for a draft in the air? I had to "take the wheel" myself in order to get to the position I wanted. Also, further down same valley, but now facing the opposite way; still drifting right. The wind had not changed direction

Without any reason, it trims to the right in plain flight. I have a hat bound to trim, and that one does not drift or need calibration. The hat never sends any signal in A10, F18 or the AH64 without me moving it. But in The F16 I have to correct trim to center regularly without having fired any wing mounted ordonnance. I don't know what is triggering this. Anyone?

I'm not talking about the gold or transparent canopy, or the reflections, I'm talking about the mask/shader/haze/glare effect that gets applied to the inside of the F-16 canopy and makes the entire world look glazed over. Any idea where I can nuke that in the lua? It's not so bad in flat screen but in VR it feels like I've got vaseline over the lenses.

I spent decent time in BuddySpike event with hog and couple of times TGP locked somewhere and I can not slew it anymore from there.I never had that issue before.I cant boresight,spi,steerpoint or manually slew (basically every hotas command that should move tgp).Only fix works for me is switch-off TGP and then turn it on again. Unfortunately I couldn't find what cause that issue.However everytime I had that issue tgp was outside of the gimbal limit.

I am struggling with acls. I get to the point when 6 miles out I get the correct call out from carrier. At 5 miles I push couple on auto pilot. The plane starts a gradual ascent, I do not get p/r symbology. Just distance to carrier lower right of hud. If I take control then the cpl p r flashes. Like it was deactivated. However it was not activated because the plane kept getting higher. I was on speed and had auto throttle engaged at Round 145 knots. Once I take control and center up the needles I try again and it won't engage. I hand fly it in. Other times I get p and r on hud but when I couple the autopilot it still won't engage. I have watched several you tube videos and I'm doing what they are doing, but I must be doing something wrong cause it won't work for me. My fuel state is about 40 percent full. I make small corrections. I even wait till I'm about 3 miles from carrier and still the acls autopilot will not engage. I wish there more indepth videos explaining the process and why and what to do if it won't work and how much tolerance you can be off for it to still work.
