The Falling Anvils is a group who focuses on the F-14 Tomcat and the F-18 hornet. We're a casual milsim group that runs our own ops on weekends and trainings to go with. To top it all off we are developing a formation team and are looking to do airshows on public servers sometime in the near future! After the latest patch in December, carriers have not been working for me at all: In missions containing any carrier, the carrier is simply removed, and if I create a mission in the editor where I spawn on it, as soon as the mission is fully loaded in I die instantly, even before the briefing shows up. I have repaired the entire client twice now, and the problem still persists. Some advice would be greatly appreciated

This tool allows for automatic detection of weather conditions, visibility, time of day/night, and based on that, it provides you with automatic managment of MOOSE AIRBOSS, with this tool you can automaticaly set recowery window for any weather conditions (except dynamic weather due to DCS limitations). Coastline detection and aviodance. It also manages things like TACAN, ICLS, Link4, EPLRS, Wind Over Deck and other Airboss/Moose features see github page: https://github.com/Bartek16194/DCS-CRT-Carrier-Recovery-Tool You can just simply put carrier in mission set speed to 30, put unit name and enable carrier automation in script, load moose + script into mission and its ready to go.

CARRIER AIR WING stands up within RAFAIR UK with 3 primary Naval Air Squadrons and 1 secondary Expeditionary detachment. A carrier air wing (abbreviated CVN in the US but CAW within RAFAirUK) is an operational naval aviation wing composed of several aircraft squadrons and detachments of various types of fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft. Organised, equipped and trained to conduct modern Navy carrier air operations while embarked aboard aircraft carriers, the various squadrons in an air wing have different but complementary (and sometimes overlapping) missions, and provide most of the striking power and electronic warfare capabilities of a carrier strike group CSG. CAW ETHOS New pilots of any experience are welcomed with the only requisites being enthusiasm, time, ability to cold start, take off and land safely (runway) within Openbeta build & the Super Carrier module. You will be expected to engage in a facilitative mentored training programme. It would be advantageous to have PG & Syria terrain maps. Our aim s to promote esprit de corps and assistance to one another in learning the roles and technical aspects of these exceptional aircraft.... all in an enjoyable and friendly hobby environment. In missions we fly formerly with NATOP procedures without the bull and in training there is plenty of craic!. CAW SQUADRONS 809NAS is equipped with F4A/B 892NAS is equipped with F18C 727NAS is a training SQN with the very capable free T45C CAW Expeditionary unit with AV8BNA. UH1h, Mi-17 & UL60 Pilots are encouraged to qualify and remain current in 2 or more operational airframes but there is no compulsion. All Squadrons wherever possible train and fight from the same carrier and tactically support one another when possible or planned.… decks are busy! TRAINING PROGRESSION Competency based syllabuses for the F18 & F14 have self driven pathways with plenty of mentors. All pilots joining CAW spend some time in 727, even experienced pilots (albeit that time may well be very short and is mainly a clarification of carrier recovery skills) The T45, a dual seat carrier capable trainer is used for basic flying skills training and in the intro phases of low level tactical initial BFM. CARRIERS & MAPS USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) USS SAIPAN (LH2) and USS Forrester are used so the SC module is required. Syria and Persian Gulf are used as well as DCS Caucasus and Marianas but not a requirement, if not held then some missions will simply not be available. All training is on default maps. MISSIONS Mission nights are normally Tuesday when we fly will all the other Squadrons of RAFAir and Thursday which is a mixture of training and CAW missions. Pilots are often active on most evenings, sometime, somewhere Timings are around 19:30(UK) to 21:30 RAFAir have 4 24/7 servers available to all. WEW Lads are looking for new members!!! Aircrafts we fly: F/A-18, F14 Pilot/RIO, F15c, F15e Pilot/WSO, F16, and Mirage 2000. Requirements: Mic, 18+ (we can work 16+, but we will interview you), Be able to purchase maps like Syria/Nevada/Persian Gulf, If you fly F18 or F14 you must have Super Carrier, Be able to show up to missions We Are a NA based Squadron and our op times are at 9pm EST on Wednesdays. We also host Arma ops that correlate to the DCS ops every Thursday at 9pm EST. We do like to have fun and also randomly hold game nights to have fun. If you do wish to join the group keep please the time zone in mind as well as the following rules. Take Missions seriously and don't purposely throw the mission. While we are not a full blown realism unit, we would still qualify us as MilSim. Our playstyle is set up for people who want to fly a realistic campaign in DCS without joining a full blown realism unit. You will be expected to talk on the radio relatively correctly and to take the scenarios seriously. We will not have a rank structure nor a chain of command. Mods are simply around to moderate, not to boss you around. Before joining the Campaign please pick an aircraft you are willing to fully commit to. This should be an aircraft that you are either willing to learn or are already proficient in. This aircraft should also be something that you are willing to fly for the main campaigns in the group. Due to the nature of DCS we would prefer people to stick to an aircraft. That being said, there will be opportunities in fun events/side missions for people to fly other aircraft, as well as different campaigns that may require different aircraft. You will not be allowed to fly in the campaign unless you picked an aircraft ahead of time. Before playing the campaign with us you must complete a check flight. This is not a daunting task and we don't want to fail you. We just want to know that you are confident enough in your airframe to fly in a mission. We require an attendance rate of 2 Ops per month. If you do not meet this rate you will be removed from the group. There are obvious exceptions to this such as family issues/a college class that got scheduled for that time. We are not expecting you to sacrifice your real life for this group, but you joined the group to play, so play. People who have just joined and have not passed their check flight have 1 week to at least attempt a check flight (if no one can do your check flight in that week for some reason an exception will be made) if you do not pass this check flight, the week resets. Once again, we are not expecting you to sacrifice your real life for this group, but you joined to play. Squadron Website: http://www.wew-lads.com/ Squadron Discord: https://discord.gg/gs8HqSRE8w

Hi. I, or my group has been flying the F14B for a little while now. Through couple game updates. ACLS is working fine in some missions, either setup in ME that I do or some of the official missions. Both SC and Stennis. But some times it just dont work. Procedure is followed to the point in all cases, and indicators are lighting up for acls activation. What is causing this? Is it mission related? Carrier setup or something else? I can land the plane manually on this setup of course, but it gets a bit hairy in case III situations, specially in fog and dark.

Original source political and omitted. Nice photo. I don't think ED should invest anything in non clickable cockpit planes. But if someone made a Su25-with-hook mod I'd try it. Hm.. Wikipedia states SU-25UTG was only ever a trainer for carrier landings. No more than 10 was ever active. Still active? Wiki is unclear. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sukhoi_Su-25#Variants

I know we have the Tomcat and kind of the Su-33, but we really do need more carrier-based aircraft in DCS for people who don't like what's currently offered. I think something like an F-11F, F3H Demon, F4D Skyray or for other nations Yak-38, Sea Hawk, Sea Venom, Super Etendard, etc. I hope you guys consider some of these options as well as the F-4 Phantom II in the future.

While in the mission editor I tried to place some jets to start at on a carrier (did experience this before getting the sc module), and it would snap to cat 1 when i select both start from ramp & parking lot. No matter where i drag it, it kept snapping to the cat, as well as it did not give me the option to choose a spot anywhere else.

I have been trying to execute an ACLS landing in the F-14B and have followed procedures according to all instructions. The final step in the sequence is to press the NWS Button and upon the CMD CONTROL Light illuminating, the ACLS should guide the aircraft on localizer and glide slope to a landing. The bug seems to come in at this step as when the CMD CONTROL light illuminates, nothing seems to happen. I do not touch the stick and the aircraft seems to fly as if though I have not activates ACLS and just released the stick, continuing in the direction it was headed after my last control input. I asked others to try the ACLS landing and they have gotten the same result, no terminal ACLS guidance.

I was working on a mission for my community when I discovered that my carrier fleet, which used to work, had stopped working since the most recent update. The carrier fleet is set to circumnavigate from the UAE coast to the Qatar Peninsula coast, and it used to sail fine, but since the last update, it stopped working at the start of the mission. I tried to find the cause of the problem and came to the conclusion that it might be related to the depth of the ocean. It was difficult to tell the depth of the water from the mission editor or visually, so I made some minor adjustments while looking at the F10 map, and confirmed that the ship would not navigate in slightly shallow water. Even though I'm not sure if it's a bug or not, I'm filing this as a bug report in light of the fact that it used to work. Ships_movement_test.trk Ships_movement_test.miz

The Hornet is my go to Aircraft i flew it a lot before the Update and of course after: I noticed that the AOA suddenly goes up between the Ramp and shortly before Impacting on the Deck. It looks strongly like a Ground effect over the Carrier for me. I tried to use different Power settings in close and still this happened a lot and always with the Same LSO Grades: TMRDAR or/and 3PITW and even when I've flown almost a perfect approach this happened and gives me a One or Two Wire. Even though I add power and the Ball on the FLOLS is centered. The 3 Pointes in the Wire doesn't make any sense cause when I fly in the right angle I shouldn't get this and sometimes the Replay and my Buddy's confirmed me that it doesn't look like this either. So I asked my friends if they can try the Hornet as well, and they had all the Same effect happening to them. I Wonder if this is a bug or it should be like this?! Cause I watched a lot of RL Recovery Videos and this doesn't seem to happen there. We tried different Wind and Speed settings of the Carrier: this seemed more prevalent when the Wind is stronger but still happens with less wind and more Speed of the Carrier. The Reason why i think this is du to Ground Effect over the Carrier is: That the Plane feels kind of Floaty, Nose goes Up, AOA goes off even when its trimmed out and power adding is constant. That's all, hope that this is not a issue for a lot of People but i think it is worth to mention. Have a good Day, Greetings Sky

During the 145ths regular Friday mission, we ran into a bug where the #3 and #2 JBD remained in the up position. What happened that led to the bug is that one of my guys realized that there were aircraft inbound, and decided to go from Cat 3 to Cat 2. Somehow, this resulted in the Cat 3 JBD staying up (the same thing happened with 2, but a different pilot). Needless to say, it cost us our mission since we were unable to land safely, and the nearest base to land was a good 200mi away. You can see it happen here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1720434560 Track File: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1S6sRSsblhB05Wo8MdP2iDMpgk-AelpQh/view?usp=share_link (needed to upload to our Google Drive due to file-size restrictions)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update: I figured out that I need to own the Super Carrier DLC to use the 2017 Version. My question then is, where is the non-SC Version of this mission?! Are you really trying to force people to buy this stupid DLC by advertising the SU-33 as capable of operating from the russian carrier on the steam page, only to then not offer mission variants that use the base games version of the carrier?? I paid for the SU-33 and the Syria map, and you are telling me you went out of your way to replace the carrier that works for everyone with the DLC version just to get even more money out of me?! Why is there no automatic mechanism that replaces the carrier with the SC version ONLY IF the SC DLC is owned?! Or at least offer a separate version of the mission using the old carrier! Why would I spend 30$ on a DLC that adds US Carriers only to restore functionality to my SU-33 that existed and worked before you CHOSE to kneecap that?! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The player is supposed to spawn on the russian carrier but instead spawns above it in mid-flight. Track can not be attached because apparently the 20 sec. of gameplay are over the 5 MB limit, you can grab it here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/xoeorbktissnyfh/SU-33_Tricolor_SpawnBugged.trk?dl=0

Tuesday I finally switched to a Winwing Orion 2 flight stick and throttle, from whatever I was using before. I now sometimes see an extreme pitch-up when taking off, mainly from a carrier, which I didn't experience before. I've been doing everything the same (although they may have been things I shouldn't have been doing) - I reset the FCS and then I click the take-off trim button. Sometimes I even spread the wings when I'm on the carrier. (Kidding.) Am I doing something wrong? I don't want to be the subject of a Grampa Pettibone story.

untilCome Join Our Sunday Night Campaign! Every Sunday night at 9PM EST we host our campaign missions. These missions have a light story behind them, data cards to go along with each mission, and proper briefings. We try our best to maintain professionalism, teach proper procedure, and most of all have fun and work as a team during these missions. They are also persistent, if a group of units dies one mission, they will not make it to the next mission. We also utilize several scripts made by the community to enhance realism, such as the IADS Script, various Moose Scripts, and so on.

I wanted to have the Carriers steam up and down the coast in an eternal loop. Googled and found this from 2013: "switch waypoint" doesn't exist anymore it seems.

A little amusing bug. On repair Spitfire gets moved to tail wheel outside deck position. Proposed cause: (Nose wheeled) carrier jets gets pushed back to main wheels near deck edge. Very short track: -Air start -Belly land -Repair Track 100% default installation, no mods (main folder repaired, forced new Saved_Games folder). ed/add. Though I can (once at least) start engine, pull fully onto deck and even take off, plane is damaged. It takes damage after every repair when rear fuselage hits deck.
