Can you start a mission with YOURSELF (Player-Client) in an F/A-18 cold on the deck of a SuperCarrier while multiple AI aircraft (2) are in approach/landing. Then, after the AI are recovered/parked, you startup, taxi & launch from either waist or bow cats? I can set up the AIs and they do their thing, but as soon as I add a Client (myself) the deck is set to Launch exclusively (deck crew manning all cats), and the AIs just keep circling at 3,000ft. This all seems to occur automatically WITHOUT me initiating startup. Would it not be logical to have Recovery and Bow Cat(s) Launching at the same time? Is this a trigger thing possible in ME?

Since I have way too much time on my hands, I made another LUA edit that allows you to mount the AGM-88 HARM onto pylons 8B and 1B for the F-14. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3324643/ Based off of this series of tests:

I just made a super rough AIM-23 Hawk mod for the F-14 Tomcat. Before releasing it, I was hoping that someone here would be able to help me out and help move the Hawk missile to make it not clip into the AIM-54 shoulder pylon. Thanks Fixed in V1.1 Link to mod: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3323002/

Following rapid expansion of DCAF’s F-14 component, we are looking to onboard more F-14 crewmembers seeking executive and organisational capabilities. If you’re interested in flight leading, planning, training, and leading a squadron, this could be an exceptional opportunity for you. About DCAF: DCAF (Digital Coalition Air Force), is an EU based DCS mil-sim organisation, with numerous squadrons. We take considerable pride in our comprehensive training structure, regular custom missions, human controllers/ABMs/JTACs/FACs, and community. About VF-154: As one of the largest squadrons, VF-154 specialises in the air-to-air realm, with side roles of SEAD and air-to-ground flying the F-14A. Currently, VF-154 has 16 crewmembers on roster with more aircrew cadets in the training pipeline. VF-154 consists of an even share of European and American based crewmembers that come together to support DCAF. Why do we want COs and XOs? The role of a CO and XO can be time consuming but remains critical in the health and running of a squadron. While internally recruiting for the role, we believe bringing in external expertise and skills will bolster the capabilities of VF-154. This also coincides with the intention of standing up a second squadron, necessitating more leaders. What is the fast stream? The CO/XO fast stream is a course led by former COs/XOs and wing staff officers within the F-14 community. Fast stream trainees will be given an intensified course in which trainees will have greater personalised training, taken from line pilot/RIO to flight lead, to flight commander, and eventually XO/CO. This will be over a duration of a few months to ensure prospective XO/COs have appropriately assimilated into DCAF, have good rapport with the squadron, and demonstrate effective leadership and administrative capabilities. What we want from you: - To be at least 18 years of age, - Able to attend weekly ops (Thursday 1830GMT) and additional operations (Saturdays 1830GMT) very regularly, - Have considerable time to put into training within the week, - Be competent with the F-14A, whether pilot or RIO, o Pilots: this consists of being able to capably use SRS and is familiar with radio telephony, can confidently perform CASE I recoveries, conduct formation flying, air to air refuelling day and night, has some experience flight leading, and is readily familiar with the F-14’s capabilities. o RIOs: this consists of being able to capably use SRS and is familiar with radio telephony, has some experience flight leading, is familiar with the vast majority of TID modes including NAVGRID, an awareness of piloting the F-14, and CNATRA P-825. - A willingness and interest in training F-14 cadets, - Be a capable English speaker, - Be willing to use Discord, - Possess a stable internet connection, - Possess good quality flight simulator hardware, including a HOTAS, rudder, and at least a headtracking/VR solution, - A great teamworking attitude. This consists of a willingness to learn and assimilate into DCAF’s modus operandi, a drive to practise in personal time for self-improvement, be willing to take constructive criticism, and a strong desire for personal improvement to contribute back to the squadron. These attitudes precede leadership, - Bring great energy and enthusiasm towards the group and towards individual training, - Some leadership experience in dynamic situations, with an ability to take responsibility, identify faults and rectify them. While some of these traits are definitive requirements, no applicant is the same, and individual circumstances will be considered. What will the fast stream look like? Note: Subject to Change Trainees will enter DCAF’s training syllabus, primarily consisting of V1, V2, and V3. - V1: is our course that all aircrew cadets go through in order to meet DCAF’s minimum standard in partaking as a line pilot. This consists of a familiarisation flight (start up, taxi, departure, straight and level flight, turns, climbs & descents, 60° AOB turns, slow speed flight in landing configuration, high AOA manoeuvring, stall and spin recovery, descent, and landing), visual circuits, departures and arrivals (from the military aerodrome traffic zone), formation flying, day and night AAR(Air-Air-Refuelling), night familiarisation flight, weaponeering and combat readiness assessment. RIOs are different in that they have bespoke components in lieu of formation and AAR. - V2: is our flight lead course. Once V2 qualified, trainees will be able to plan, and flight lead a division of their airframe. This consists of a domestic flying assessment, a decision-making exercise, and a combat flying readiness assessment. V2 will also give you the preliminary capability to instruct most components of V1. - V3: is designed to give crewmembers the necessary skills to become a squadron executive (CO/XO) and ability to teach V2. This goes into greater depth concerning air power theory, sortie management, flight commanding, and instructional technique. Additional syllabus, such as All-Weather Intercepts/Beyond Visual Range and for pilots CQ (Carrier Qualifications) will most likely be necessary. The fast stream will most likely be over three months with the following timeline in weeks: 0 – 2: Pass and qualify as a V1 crewmember before end of second week, 2 – 4: Continue personal training and attend weekly operations, 2 – 5: Undergo V2 training, with deadline before end of fifth week, 6 – 9: Consolidation of V2 training, conduct flight lead and training, attain AWI/BVR and CQ qualifications, 9 – 12: Begin and complete V3 training before end of 12th week. Throughout this time, you will be mentored by experienced F-14 crewmembers who will provide guidance and assess your performance. This is a great and rare opportunity to take your hobby to the next level and have the responsibility of a full-sized squadron. If you are interested, and believe you meet the specifications, join our Discord, and message me, either on ED or on Discord. We’ll have an informal chat to ensure expectations are met on both sides. The Tomcat has a yet uncatered for coordinate format. Taking a coordinate from the F-10 map leaves you calculating what a six digit lat/long would be for a 5 digit Tomcat format. I know they are close. But still the last digit is not accurate just by removing it and ignoring it. What the Tomcat F-14 needs: N37"57'8 W115"23'9 What is displayed currently as closest approximation: N37"57'48 W115"23'52 These two coordinates represent the same point as far as the editor and the sim goes. Can we please have an L_ALT + Y option for the Tomcat format please?

With a player RIO, and player pilot, in the F-14B, whenever the pilot attaches to the catapult, my game crashes 100% of the time. I found another threat regarding this problem on the F-14 forum, and someone told me to post my bug report here, as well. This does not happen to my friend, when I am the pilot and he is the RIO. Furthermore, if he connects to the catapult and THEN I issue a join request, I can join into the RIO seat and everything works fine, and we can play the game normally. The same is true when we respawn after a death directly onto the catapult. I don't know how the DCS log files work, but the most relevant message appears to be this: 2021-11-07 11:09:48.374 INFO EDCORE: F:\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\bin\Transport.dll 2021-11-07 11:09:48.386 INFO EDCORE: # C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at C701B000 00:00000000 Troubleshooting So Far: I've reinstalled the game. I've uninstalled the game, migrated my license to the standalone (Non-Steam) client, and reinstalled the game. I've tried using the file validation. I've uninstalled my graphics drivers, reinstalled them, and also tried rolling back to different versions. I've bought an entire new graphics card (1080 to 3080) I've uninstalled, and reinstalled DirectX We've tested all different catapults on the Stennis, and it occurs on all of them. I've tried with, and without SRS turned on and connected. I've tried on both day and night. dcs.log-20211107-112415.zip dcs.log-20211107-110948.zip

Hi, will new voice commands such as setting the target aspect switch and the upcoming (hopefully next week) Jester LANTIRN functionality eventually be added to VAICOM Pro/ AIRIO? Or do we have to (somehow) create custom voice commands ourselves? I'd rather not have to dive into creating these things, as I much rather fly than fiddle around with setups (just got into VR and that in itself was a major feat to get it running smoothly on my very dated rig). Let's say I've thoroughly scratched all my setup itches for 2021.

Steps to reproduce: Start "Beyond Visual Range" Instant Action Mission on Persian Gulf Order JESTER to set TGTS to Large Acquire MiG-29 group as single trackfile, fire single 54C at 40NM Crank. At some point the target trackfile splits into two as the radar resolves the second MiG-29. Expected: 54 will activate once getting within 13NM of the target trackfile, regardless of which aircraft is actually targeted by the missile. Actual: 54 never activates. It appears to be going after the other aircraft than the target trackfile. See attached ingame and tacview screenshots. Notes: I reproduced this issue a few times, and failed a few times. It seems to only happen when the target being followed by the missile (DCS game logic) differs from the trackfile under attack in the F-14 module. AIM54_test.trk

With TouchDCS released officially, I had to make a template set for our beloved Tomcat. The template contains the "Display" panel and an "Indicators" panel. I plan on expanding it later with other useful panels. Feel free to modify, share etc. User Files Download page NEW UPDATE 2.0 This is an incredible tool, the possibilities are endless. This is much more powerful than the Streamdeck or DCS UFC in my opinion. Whatever panel YOU NEED, in the tip of your fingers... If I could make my 1st template in such a short time, anyone can. TouchDCS info -> github Forum Thanks @moridar for creating this

Accidentally, I forgot to low down my F-14 hook when landed my plane on the deck, and it ran into the sea. RIO called out "eject...." but the screen freeze and the entire DCS application hung. The sound distortion from the jester called out "eject..." stayed with the DCS application forever. Checked the Windows task manager, it showed the DCS had no responding. I had to end task to kill the DCS application. With the DCS tech support, they suggested me to do A-A-8-1 and repeated the same scenario. "No responding" was no longer to happen after I made F-14 fell into water after running at the end of the carrier deck. I guess that the program was stuck somewhere for the action of jester was trying to eject....?! Any suggestion? LastMissionTrack.trk dcs.log

Hello everyone, hello my sweetest virtual plane developer. I have a lot of fun with the Swedish beast and the good old F-14B. There is one feature i really miss for the iceman ai. It would be nice to have the option to deactivate iceman. So if i fly a circle with the pilots autopilot engaged, i like to jump to the Rio and push some buttons, but without that iceman take controll and fly torwards. I think i have enough time to do everything i like in the Rio cockpit, while the plane flys circles with the pilots autopilot engaged. For me the pilots autopilot is enough to keep the plane calm and do the stuff i like do to in the rio cockpit. It's annoying that iceman flys toward everytime i change the seat and he mess my relaxed cycle pattern.

Greetings all, after nearly a years worth of work and many late after work hours my pit is nearly finished, though naturally problems have arisen right before takeoff. I have wired all my panels to arcade gamepad encoder boards which are far simpler than arduino boards. after spending an hour binding everything they all work perfectly and it's an amazing experience in VR. The problem comes from when I restart my PC, all my bindings are mixed up in DCS, despite saving and loading the control profile that had worked flawlessly. https://i.imgur.com/9HzFLni.jpg https://i.imgur.com/wvNQSQd.jpg

I haven't seen any reports on the lack of a range gate during single target tracks for the AWG-9. In the Heatblur manual they clearly display range-gate images on the DDD, however, they are completely absent in game both visually and functionally. Above you can clearly see that the range gate for the target image is visible in the Heatblur manual diagrams. However, here in the game as of the latest patch 2.7.0.5118 the STT lock images still lack a range gate image displayed around the radar image. Again, this affects the radar in more than just visuals. In the P-STT the entire background of the target can be displayed if against the ground as if it were simply a very narrow Pulse Search. and cause a loss of lock in some cases. Here, with the MLC filter switched to OFF the AWG-9 starts to pick up background returns in PD-STT and displays them on the TID as if it were a TWS image with the MLC off. I've noticed that this issue actually causes the AWG-9 to lose the actual target image during a lock however still somehow tracks the target. So, I want to know if this has been a known issue and if there are plans to fix this problem with the radar. Thank you, and you guys do great work.

Hi all; Want to share with you the built of the ACM panel for F-14A/B pilots. It base on 3Dprinting, with simple arduino electronics and MMJOY2. There are 2 D-type connector to add additional buttons. There are built in LED for all buttons and lights if anyone wont to connect them to the sim. (I`m with VR so I didn`t put the effort). If anyone want the model you can purchase it in this link: https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-models/hobby-diy/mechanical-parts/3d-printable-f-14-acm-panel-with-electronics-compatible Here is a movie how it`s working with the sim.

Hi Everyone, According to the manual (pilot post-start checklist - step 18) checks the speed brake operation in conjunction with verifying the integrated trim function, resulting in a stabilator deflection upon opening and closing the speedbrake. I don't know when it happened but a fair few updates back this stopped working, though it was working correctly beforehand. This affects both the F-14A and B. DLC input however causes a stabilator deflection as it should. Track attached. F-14A_Speedbrake_Trim.trk

Hi everyone, I've noticed a minor bug which has been present since the release of the F-14A. According to the pilot procedures in the manual, step 6 is to check to see if the start valve caution light illuminates prior to advancing the throttle to idle during engine start. Since the release of the F-14A into OB, it doesn't illuminate and never comes on (excluding the LTS test) prior to setting the starting engine's throttle to idle; what happens instead is when the engine crank switch returns to centre at ~50% RPM, the start valve caution momentarily turns on for a split second before going out - it's a very quick on/off and it basically perfectly coincides with the engine crank switch returning to centre. IIRC what used to happen is you'd position the engine crank switch to start whichever engine, then I think somewhere between 10-20% the start valve caution light would illuminate, at 20% you'd advance whichever throttle to idle, and the start valve caution light would turn off when the crank switch automatically returns to centre at ~50% RPM. This problem is present in both the F-14A and F-14B. Track attached. F-14A_Start_Valve.trk
