Hi, I am not sure why I can't eject myself from F14 while get shot by my enemy in either instant action or MP since DCS 2.9 is it because my canopy goes dark (I died completely) every time? I recalled that DCS 2.8 never made my canopy dark always so I could eject myself. Thanks.

Greetings! I have young kids and therefore unusual flight windows on Weekends at 0500, California time. I'm open to pretty much anything; flying with a squadron, casual flying, carrier ops, training, SEAD, whatever. I am usually on the F-18C, but fly the P-47 to prep for the Corsair and F-14 to prep for the Phantom. Former Marine, so I'm partial to Marine units and aircraft. I have all of the official maps.

An amalgamation of my AIM-120A and AGM-88 mods for the F-14 while also adding some other modern weapons that would bring the Tomcat into the modern era. Feel free to report bugs, ask for help, and post screenshots here! Link to Mod: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3326478/ Bugs: The HARM pylons are untextured because the stock EDM files do not have that pylon textured. The JDAMs (GBU-31, GBU-38, and GBU-54) are basically their unguided equivalents and cannot be guided via GPS and require manual pylon and weapon type selection. AIM-120 double racks do not properly show up when you fire the 2nd missile off the pylon and results in one missile to appear to be there visually even though you had fired it. Disclaimer: Please at least credit me when you make derivative mods when you post them on places like r/hoggit or the DCS forums (and maybe also tell me that you did make a derivative mod which is preferred). Thanks! Also, the majority of this mod is basically fictional with some amount of historical basis. Changelog: V1.0 - Initial Release V1.0.1 - Zipped with OvGME so you can just drag and drop the zipped mod into your DCS mod repo (zipped folder no longer has the version number in filename). V1.1.0 - Added AGM-84D Harpoon, AGM-65E LMAV, and AMBER Racks for the AIM-120Cs (which allows a total of 12 AIM-120Cs that can be carried) thanks to Spino from the F-15EX Mod. V1.1.1 - Added AGM-123 Skipper II. Be advised that it's a bit buggy at the moment and could potentially crash your game if you fire it. V1.1.2 - Updated for OB 2.8.3.37556. V1.1.3 - Added AIM-54C+ ECCM/Sealed so you can carry AIM-54s on the shoulders without the tunnel pallets, added HB weapon loadout limitations. V1.1.4 - Added Laser Guided Zunis in LAU-10s (same pylon loadouts as regular Zunis in LAU-10s) (the rockets still appear in the LAU-10 after being launched), fixed bug where LANTIRN and other weapons on B stations were missing. V1.1.5 - Updated for TARPS and other changes made in previous OBs. V1.1.6 - Hotfix to actually make the TARPS usable. V1.1.7 - Updated for latest DCS patch (as of 2024-03-05) To Do List (Planned Additions, etc.): - Adding laser guidance to the JDAMs for at least some guidance - AGM-84D Harpoon on 1B and 8B Added in V1.1.0 - AGM-62 Walleye on 1B and 8B - Fix AGM-123 Skipper II to be less buggy? - Add the CBU-87/97 to the F-14 - Laser Guided Zunis (Added in the V1.1.4 update).

I just made a super rough AIM-23 Hawk mod for the F-14 Tomcat. Before releasing it, I was hoping that someone here would be able to help me out and help move the Hawk missile to make it not clip into the AIM-54 shoulder pylon. Thanks Fixed in V1.1 Link to mod: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3323002/ Changelog: V1.0 - Initial Release V1.1 - Fixed missile pylon positioning (Huge thanks to Redounet for some help in initially fixing the issue), Missile accuracy increased (I had previously used the values from the SAM missile files but it made the missile miss pretty badly. V1.2 - Increased CCM ability and removed the need for a separate AIM-23 EDM file. V1.2A - Updated luas to OB 2.7.15.26783 V1.3 - Updated luas to OB 2.7.16.27869 (includes latest AIM-54 updates), added PN to the AIM-23, and added an appropriate white and red AIM-23 texture courtesy of bennyboy9800. V1.4 - New file structure that no longer requires an update after new patch drops which changes Weapons.lua (less work for me yay) V1.5 - Updated for OB 2.7.17.29493. V1.5.1 - Zipped with OvGME so you can just drag and drop the zipped mod into your DCS mod repo (zipped folder no longer has the version number in filename). V1.5.2 - Updated for OB 2.8.3.37556. V1.5.3 - Drag increased on the AIM-23, HB weapon loadout limitations added. V1.5.4 - Updated for TARPS and other changes made in previous OBs. V1.5.5 - Hotfix to actually make the TARPS usable. V1.5.6 - Updated for latest DCS patch (as of 2024-03-05)

A weapons mod that allows for AIM-7Es, AIM-9Js, AIM-9Ps, AIM-23 (MIM-23) Hawks, and R-27R missiles to be mounted onto the Heatblur F-14 Tomcat. AIM-7Es can be mounted on all pylons except 1A and 8A, AIM-9Js and AIM-9Ps can be mounted on 1A, 8A, 1B, and 8B, and the R-27R on 1B and 8B. Mod Link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3325290/ Big thanks to @bennyboy9800 for the AIM-23 Hawk missile texture. Bugs: Currently the R-27R is mounted on an APU-68 pylon that's mounted on an AIM-54 shoulder pylon since there are no independent R-27 pylon models. The AIM-7E currently uses the AIM-7M/MH/P model (ED issue). Changelog: V1.0 - Initial Release V1.1 - Updated for OB 2.7.17.29493. V1.2.0 - Zipped with OvGME so you can just drag and drop the zipped mod into your DCS mod repo (zipped folder no longer has the version number in filename). V1.2.1 - Updated for OB 2.8.3.37556. V1.2.2 - AIM-23 Hawk missile drag increased, HB weapon loadout limitations added. V1.2.3 - Hotfix: Fixing the AIM-7E so it can actually be loaded and isn't duplicated. V1.2.4 - Updated for TARPS and other OB additions. V1.2.5 - Hotfix to actually make the TARPS usable. V1.2.6 - Hotfix to allow AIM-7Es to be loaded on the tunnel pylons. V1.2.7 - Updated for latest DCS patch (as of 2024-03-05)

We have never been comfortable with adhering to the status quo. Currently we hope to complete development and enter BETA testing on the first version of the F-14 by the end of 2015. For the Development Team, the F-14 will represent the culmination of years of experience and dedication. Our passion is only rivaled by our ambition and we are pushing ourselves to be better than ever before. So strap in and enjoy the ride, and get ready to experience the definitive F-14 experience. Sincerely, Leatherneck Simulations NOTE: Due to an unexpected technical error in our website & subsequent down-time due to overloading the server, this is a limited, interim announcement. Bye Phant

Hi so I already following some guide video to do this but still can not shoot my gun in A-A mode. I know others people have same issue and they said check the air source to set as both. I already do that but still not working. anyone can help me? thanks. Attach the video when I tried to do that, in the video you will see I can fire my missile but not gun. 2023-11-26 14-18-36.mp4 Another video show that in same condition, but in A-G mode the gun did work. 2023-11-26 14-26-39.mp4

The damage appears and disappears when the aircraft is fresh and undamaged. Putting the plane in "invincible" mode does not make this bug go away. This bug occurs when you start the F-14 on the ground cold, or on the ground hot, at a parking position, or in the air, and or on a carrier. The starting point does not effect this bug. This bug is visible in the DCS 2.9 Launch Video here: https://youtu.be/UDa73-p3-Ow?si=OdHO8aGDJR-vNJP2&t=109 ...you can see the damage appearing & disappearing on the left & right engine nacelles of the F-14B featured in the release video.

Allows the AIM-120A AMRAAM to be mounted onto the shoulder pylons (1B and 8B) for the Heatblur F-14 Tomcat with either a single (Sparrow pylon) or double rack. This mod is based on the images of the PMTC F-14A during the AIM-120 development along with the image of the unused double AIM-120 rack mounted on an F-14. The AIM-120A in this mod uses the older API and has a higher susceptibility to countermeasures than the AIM-120B. Mod Link: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3325289/ Bugs: The missile uses the older missile API so it might miss or do super harsh turns. When using the double racks, the missile count will be incorrect since the missile count is determined by used pylons. Missiles on the double racks fire in a weird way. AIM-120Bs and Cs are not supported since they will crash your game once you attempt to fire them. Changelog: V1.0 - Initial Release V1.1 - Updated for OB 2.7.17.29493. V1.1.1 - Zipped with OvGME so you can just drag and drop the zipped mod into your DCS mod repo (zipped folder no longer has the version number in filename). V1.1.2 - Updated for OB 2.8.3.37556. V1.1.3 - Updated with HB weapon loadout limitations. V1.1.4 - Updated for TARPS and other changes made in previous OBs. V1.1.5 - Hotfix to actually make the TARPS usable. Hello Everyone, Just curious if ED ever plans to add the following aircraft into FC3? F-14A/D Tomcat F-15E F-16C F-18C/D/E/G/F F-22 MiG-29M MiG-35 SU-34 SU-50T PAK FA SU-57 Fictional aircraft: MiG-28 From Top-gun! (1986) = Converted F-5E I guess we can only hope for now, but if enough people request it, it will happen! There are some mods that needs to be added in with these aircraft as well as those that have already been released in FC3. Over the wings vapor, yes there is a mod out there, however, it only works on certain aircraft like the SU-27/SU-33 I believe and does not work in IC? If this modder can make it work than Dynamic Eagles should be able to as well! Cheers Mates!

I'm hoping someone can help. I purchased fear the bones on steam the day it was released. It downloaded I went to play and it came up with the activation issue error. Steam quickly rectified the issue (for most people) I loaded the game and the issue was still there. I got in touch with steam to help. The only solution they offered was to sign out and back in and verify the files. I did both of these with no success. They then said they can't help with the solution and directed me to get in touch with ED. I know this issue has been resolved for most but I am at a loss as to why it is still causing this issue for me. I have deleted and repurchased the dlc and again had the activation issue. Steam is up to date, I have all the required dlc to run fear the bones and have checked to make sure my antivirus isn't blocking it. I even offered to give steam my log in details to see if they could rectify the issue. I'm hoping someone more tech savvy then myself can give me a bit of direction or assistance.

Hi, will new voice commands such as setting the target aspect switch and the upcoming (hopefully next week) Jester LANTIRN functionality eventually be added to VAICOM Pro/ AIRIO? Or do we have to (somehow) create custom voice commands ourselves? I'd rather not have to dive into creating these things, as I much rather fly than fiddle around with setups (just got into VR and that in itself was a major feat to get it running smoothly on my very dated rig). Let's say I've thoroughly scratched all my setup itches for 2021.

With a player RIO, and player pilot, in the F-14B, whenever the pilot attaches to the catapult, my game crashes 100% of the time. I found another threat regarding this problem on the F-14 forum, and someone told me to post my bug report here, as well. This does not happen to my friend, when I am the pilot and he is the RIO. Furthermore, if he connects to the catapult and THEN I issue a join request, I can join into the RIO seat and everything works fine, and we can play the game normally. The same is true when we respawn after a death directly onto the catapult. I don't know how the DCS log files work, but the most relevant message appears to be this: 2021-11-07 11:09:48.374 INFO EDCORE: F:\Steam\steamapps\common\DCSWorld\bin\Transport.dll 2021-11-07 11:09:48.386 INFO EDCORE: # C0000005 ACCESS_VIOLATION at C701B000 00:00000000 Troubleshooting So Far: I've reinstalled the game. I've uninstalled the game, migrated my license to the standalone (Non-Steam) client, and reinstalled the game. I've tried using the file validation. I've uninstalled my graphics drivers, reinstalled them, and also tried rolling back to different versions. I've bought an entire new graphics card (1080 to 3080) I've uninstalled, and reinstalled DirectX We've tested all different catapults on the Stennis, and it occurs on all of them. I've tried with, and without SRS turned on and connected. I've tried on both day and night. dcs.log-20211107-112415.zip dcs.log-20211107-110948.zip

Steps to reproduce: Start "Beyond Visual Range" Instant Action Mission on Persian Gulf Order JESTER to set TGTS to Large Acquire MiG-29 group as single trackfile, fire single 54C at 40NM Crank. At some point the target trackfile splits into two as the radar resolves the second MiG-29. Expected: 54 will activate once getting within 13NM of the target trackfile, regardless of which aircraft is actually targeted by the missile. Actual: 54 never activates. It appears to be going after the other aircraft than the target trackfile. See attached ingame and tacview screenshots. Notes: I reproduced this issue a few times, and failed a few times. It seems to only happen when the target being followed by the missile (DCS game logic) differs from the trackfile under attack in the F-14 module. AIM54_test.trk

Accidentally, I forgot to low down my F-14 hook when landed my plane on the deck, and it ran into the sea. RIO called out "eject...." but the screen freeze and the entire DCS application hung. The sound distortion from the jester called out "eject..." stayed with the DCS application forever. Checked the Windows task manager, it showed the DCS had no responding. I had to end task to kill the DCS application. With the DCS tech support, they suggested me to do A-A-8-1 and repeated the same scenario. "No responding" was no longer to happen after I made F-14 fell into water after running at the end of the carrier deck. I guess that the program was stuck somewhere for the action of jester was trying to eject....?! Any suggestion? LastMissionTrack.trk dcs.log

Hey there, I'm writing this post, as I thought some newer users may appreciate it, or a sort of PSA if you will. The learning curve involved with DCS, as well as learning your aircraft of choice is a massive task to undertake. As much as it is inspiring to watch a DCS YouTuber effortlessly dogfight your favourite plane or dodging SAMs, it is also quite daunting learning how to get to that same point of skill. Perhaps you've found yourself mixing your training between haphazardly referring to the manuals, scouring forums, and YouTube videos. You're getting to the point in which you've played most of the instant action scenarios and some of the free missions, and feel like you need to take it further; and the option of multiplayer seems more attractive. However, unlike dogfighting against computers, you're operating alongside(or perhaps against) humans, which can feel like a quantum shift. You may be considering online squadrons, but nervous about your skill level in relation to theirs. Believe me when I say this, the vast majority of squadrons love to have more people share in their hobby, and take great pride in training people up. The great advantage of multiplayer, and by extension online squadrons, is the added value of learning, community, and most importantly immersion. When I first considered multiplayer, I was quite apprehensive, but once I joined I never looked back, and my flight simulation hobby is vastly enriched because of it. Learning: This can be a sticking point for newer people, since they feel that they aren't adequately experienced, or not good enough for an online group. This may be counter-intuitive, but in some scenarios, being less knowledgeable and joining a squadron to learn can be better. Ultimately while you're in single player, you don't know what you don't know, whereas when you train with other people, they can immediately identify what you need to learn, or what's not going right. Most DCS modules are extremely complex, and frankly the learning process for all of us never ends; we're all just at different points in that journey. As a newer user, you will massively benefit yourself to join a squadron as they can tailor your training requirements. Additionally, many instructors enjoy teaching, and it further enriches their hobby. The core note here is that you won't be burdening anyone from whatever experience level you're starting from, and most instructors love to teach anyway. Community: This may seem marginally obvious, but actually having people to share in your hobby is great. Flight simulation, let alone the DCS community is quite niche, it's not like you can easily have fellow hobbyists down the road. Instead communities are globalised over the internet as we're all spread few and far in between. Thanks to platforms like Discord, the value of community within a flying group is far greater in which you can jump in and talk to your fellow squadron mates seamlessly. Since I've been part of DCAF, I have made some great friends, and I enjoy being able to share my hobby with likeminded people. Immersion: At the end of the day, the value of flying with other humans rather than AI can't be understated. Whether flying with a human RIO or operating as a flight(or both!), the immersion offered is unparalleled. I'm still always impressed when I'm part of a flight of four in parade formation, as we all collectively work together. Or when you all go into a mission, splash some bandits and return to the carrier, the sense of achievement at the end of it is exceptional, because you all had to work together and thoroughly plan what you were going to do, and reaped the rewards of it. I often find going back to single player scenarios feel rigid and too 'sterile' now, since the only human component is yourself. Like what I was saying over learning and community, flying as part of a group fundamentally enriches the hobby. If you're still unsure, feel free to contact myself either here (or Discord), as well as some newer members who fly with me. This can be a good opportunity to scope out what it's like to join a flying group. We're all part of DCAF(Digital Coalition Air Force): Me: Panny#2973 Vak(halfway through training on the F-14): Aisxos#8894 Deivid(also in training on the F-14): Deivid#3419 Brody(recently finished training and is a line pilot): brodyzach#1944 You can also visit our Discord should you wish: https://discord.gg/RrzuvXXd9M Otherwise, if you're interested in my group, I fly with DCAF(Digital Coalition Air Force) as an F-14 instructor, and would love to help more guys out. We also have F-16 Fighting Falcon, F/A-18C Hornet and AV-8B squadrons, who will be delighted to take on more people. You can read about us here: And here: https://dcafoc.wixsite.com/home Or jump onto our Discord!: https://discord.gg/RrzuvXXd9M I hope for those entering on their journey with DCS, this post can at least alleviate a few concerns about the online paradigm. Cheers, Peter

With TouchDCS released officially, I had to make a template set for our beloved Tomcat. The template contains the "Display" panel and an "Indicators" panel. I plan on expanding it later with other useful panels. Feel free to modify, share etc. User Files Download page NEW UPDATE 2.0 This is an incredible tool, the possibilities are endless. This is much more powerful than the Streamdeck or DCS UFC in my opinion. Whatever panel YOU NEED, in the tip of your fingers... If I could make my 1st template in such a short time, anyone can. TouchDCS info -> github Forum Thanks @moridar for creating this

I haven't seen much reporting of this issue, or at least no reporting of it as of late. These problems have been affecting the F-14 for several months now. 1. The AIM-7F does not guide when launched outside of 5-6NM from a target. They will never guide and just come off the rail as if they're dead.AIM-7F test.acmi 2. The AIM-7M lofts at most ranges even though it of course shouldn't be lofting as the MH is the only one that should be. AIM-7M test.acmi So I want to know where in the pipeline are the fixes for these bugs are? I can understand that this has not been a top priority as everyone would rather use a phoenix missile and I know you guys at HB are working on further improvements to it. But the bugs on the sparrow make them essentially useless on the Tomcat when they are a mainstay of the jet. Are there fixes in the works? Is this at least being considered? Or am I simply way off base here by asking HB about this and should instead direct it to ED?
