  1. Introduction SharkPlanner has started a MOD for entry of waypoints into ABRIS and PVI-800 of DCS Ka-50 attack helicopter. The mod enables entry of: waypoints into ABRIS/PVI-800/NADIR fix points (used for INU/INS corrections) target points (used for autopilot ingress, SHKVAL slewing and DL operations) review of elevation profile along route Meanwhile SharkPlanner supports additional modules... FAQ How does it work? SharkPlanner runs as a LUA script hook and is able to utilize DCS's native UI in order to deliver minimalistic UI without requiring external application. Does it break integrity check? No, SharkPlanner is not deployed in your game installation folder. Do I need binary/exe? No, SharkPlanner runs within the DCS, and as such does not require external tools to run. Which DCS versions are supported? Minimal requirement is 2.8 either stable or openbeta. Which airframes are supported? BlackShark 3: Ka-50 version 2022 BlackShark 3: Ka-50 version 2011 BlackShark 2: Ka-50 Combined Arms (only information gathering) Gazelle: SA-342L Gazelle: SA-342M Gazelle: SA-342Minigun F-16C JF-17 Thunder How do I report bugs? Open the issues, read existing open issues to quickly figure out if your issue is already reported, and if you find none create new issue. Please try to be precise and provide the steps for reproduction and if needed: screenshots if available links to video if available mission file if available (needs to be renamed into zip, I recommend my_mission.miz.zip) dcs.log, located at %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Logs or %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Logs If you do not have github account you can post error report here and I will create the issue on github page. Installation instructions Download the latest release. The needed package is named like this: SharkPlanner-VERSION.zip Unpack the content of the zip file into %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts or %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts depending on version of the DCS you are using. Start or restart DCS Usage instructions Start DCS Hop into your Black Shark Switch to F10 mode Hit: CTRL+SHIFT+SPACE You should see a crosshair in the middle of screen. Above crosshair the following buttons are located: Hide, Add, Reset, Transfer as well as label showing current and maximal number of waypoints. Use your mouse to zoom and pan to your point of interest, and use Add button to select your waypoints. Once you add at least one waypoint, you can click on Transfer button and SharkPlanner will start entering waypoints/fixpoints/targetpoints into ABRIS and PVI-800. It is recommended to do this on ground for maximal accuracy. If you would like to create a new route, hit Reset and go to step 5. To hide SharkPlanner hit again: CTRL+SHIFT+SPACE Removal instructions To remove SharkPlanner: Delete file %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts\Hooks\SharkPlanner.lua or %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Hooks\SharkPlanner.lua depending on version of the DCS you are using. Delete folder %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts\SharkPlanner or %USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\SharkPlanner depending on version of the DCS you are using. Restart DCS if it was running Kudos TheWay is a very cool project which enables entry of waypoints for a rather large number of DCS airframes. My initial motivation was to provide the ABRIS support as code contribution to TheWay, but ABRIS proved to be very challanging to implement within existing framework since coordinates entry can be done only non-numerically through dials. This limitation has resulted in large changes that could not be easily harmonized and tested with existing code base. Please note that TheWay remains to be the most comprehensive software for waypoint entry in DCS and is highly recommended to use for all other supported aircrafts. You can use both SharkPlanner and TheWay as long as you remember not to invoke transfer of waypoints at the same time! DCS Scratchpad provided the idea how to inject the UI and trigger it with a keyboard shortcut.
  2. The livery I created includes dynamic tail number and fixed tail number versions. Fixed tail number is a relatively early work, but it is still updated and its tail number position is more correct. The tail number is slightly different from the dynamic version in position. The Blue Gray version is a more standard paint color. The gray version is a color that is more grayscale than the standard version, which is adjusted based on the photo. The old ROCAF wing code was three numbers, and later it was a single number. In other words, the 401st Wing is the current 5th Wing. The 455th Regiment is now the 4th Regiment. Then 46 teams have been abolished. The standard painting of the fixed tail number is configured based on the actual photo data. Have glass, ROCAF does not have this type of skin, but because of interest, this version of the paint was also produced. Because there are many skins, some arrangements have been made to reduce the capacity required for installation. Therefore, there is a ROCAF Base data box inside as the main basic data box. According to the F-16 coatings currently in service, there are mainly the following three ------------------------------ ROCAF F-16 of the F-16V upgrade Initial version Blue Grey『Tail Number variable & Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW Low Vis Blue Grey『Tail Number variable & Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 5th TFW Blue Grey『Tail Number variable & Fixed』 ------------------------------ Among them, the 5th wing currently only has a low-visibility version in active service and does not have a TFG emblem on the air intake. =================== Dynamic tail number-stand skin- ROCAF F-16 4th TFW Low Vis Blue Grey『Tail Number variable & Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW High Vis Blue Grey『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW with TFG tail logo Blue Grey 『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 5th TFW Blue Grey『Tail Number variable & Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 46th TFS High vis Blue Grey『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 of the F-16V upgrade Initial version Blue Grey『Tail Number variable & Fixed』 Dynamic tail number-stand grey skin- ROCAF F-16 4th TFW Low Viz『Tail Number variable & Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW High Viz『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 5th TFW『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 46th TFS High vis 『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 of the F-16V upgrade Initial version『Tail Number variable & Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 401st TFW 26th TFG 『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 401st TFW 27th TFG 『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 455th TFW Low Viz 『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 455th TFW High Viz 『Tail Number variable』 Dynamic tail number-Have glass V skin- ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 14th FG Have Glass『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 14th FG Have Glass Camo『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 21st TFG Have Glass『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 21st TFG Have Glass Camo『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 22nd TFG Have Glass『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 22nd TFG Have Glass Camo『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 23rd TFG Have Glass『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 23rd TFG Have Glass Camo『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 5th TFW Low viz Have Glass『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 5th TFW Low viz Have Glass Camo『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 5th TFW High viz Have Glass『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 5th TFW High viz Have Glass Camo『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 5th TFW Mix viz Have Glass『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 5th TFW Mix viz Have Glass Camo『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 46th TFS High viz Have Glass 『Tail Number variable』 ROCAF F-16 46th TFS High viz Have Glass Camo『Tail Number variable』 =================== Fixed tail number ROCAF F-16 455th TFW 21st TFG 6609 80th Anniversary of 814『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 21st TFG『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 22nd TFG『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 23rd TFG『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 455th TFW 21st TFG TFW『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 455th TFW 21st TFG Extend Tail Numbar Pack『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 455th TFW 22nd TFG『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 455th TFW 23rd TFG『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 401st TCW 26th TFG『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 401st TCW 26th TFG Extend Tail Numbar Pack『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 21st TFG Have Glass『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 21st TFG Have Glass JP version『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 22nd TFG Have Glass『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 22nd TFG Have Glass Camo『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 23rd TFG Have Glass『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 4th TFW 23rd TFG Have Glass Camo『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 455th TFW 21st TFG Have Glass『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 455th TFW 21st TFG Have Glass Camo『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 401st TCW 26th TFG Have Glass High vis『Tail Number Fixed』 ROCAF F-16 401st TCW 26th TFG Have Glass Low vis『Tail Number Fixed』 =================== =================================================== ==Please put the ROCAF Base data box obtained after decompression into== ==Do not delete the ROCAF Base folder== ==If you have the same data box, please select overwrite== =================================================== Find the game installation folder After decompressing, put it under the path data box "Open Beta" DCS World OpenBeta\CoreMods\aircraft\F-16C\Liveries\F-16C_50 Or "Standard Edition" DCS World\CoreMods\aircraft\F-16C\Liveries\F-16C_50 =================================================== Really hope that some ROCAF F-16 liveries can be included as official standard liveries.^0^ ROCAF uses a certain number of F-16s, currently about 140. 3. Hello folks, I would like to link / post the mission Kumru here. It is a low-level Snake Eye strike. The goal was to create a simple, beginner-friendly mission with voiceovers based on realistic phrases (the voiceovers are computer-generated and edited with Audacity). The biggest challenge in the mission is flying low to the target (below 400ft. AGL), dropping the bombs and, if necessary, evasive maneuvers. The mission was created with flags and triggers. Without mods or scripts. I am looking forward to your feedback ! One question: Does the Turkish Air Force use Nato brevity in their missions ? I have oriented myself to UK phraseology for this mission. __________ https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3335794/
  4. Hi All, I believe this is my first time posting here so I hope I got to the right sub-forum! Anyhow, I've been playing DCS for a few years now and I absolutely love it. My problem is that the way I play is by generally finding a public server to hop onto like one of the 4YA servers and just do my own thing. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to find someone who wants to fly with me on there, but its hit and miss. So now I'm looking for a mil sim group to join and have fun with. Although I feel quite proficient with the F-18, and F-16 modules, I still feel like there's a bunch of stuff I need to learn. and I haven't even touched "proper" communications procedures, so I would need to learn that stuff, hence why I have stated that I am looking for a relaxed group. I'm all for going full immersion but I feel like I lack a fair bit of knowledge that some mil sim groups might expect from the start. So in an ideal world, I'd also like to have members willing and able to teach me how to better use modules. A little about me: Age: 25 Location: North West England Availability: Weekends, and some week day evenings DCS hours estimate: 500-1000h Owned Aircraft: F/A-18C (1st Choice), F-16C (2nd Choice), A-10C ii (Third Choice), F-15E, AV-8B, Spitfire, UH-1H Huey, AH-64D [Owned but never flown], Su-33 [Owned but never flown] Owned Maps: Syria, Persian Gulf Owned Miscellaneous Modules: Supercarrier So, if anyone has any suggestions to a group I'd be well suited to I'd love to hear Thanks, Coxie
  5. https://discord.gg/sySYqKEw2M Combined Joint Task Force Theta is a US-based DCS tactical realism group with an emphasis on joint air/land/sea multi-national operations. As a tactical realism group, our focus is on the employment of realistic military tactics and doctrine. The group’s main activity are handcrafted campaigns. Campaign missions are run on a weekly to bi-weekly basis. Most often the campaigns depict realistic military operations, but we are not above more fantastical plots on rare occasions. CJTF-Theta does not have mandatory attendance policies. We understand the fact that life sometimes gets in the way of pastimes. The group also does not stipulate that we be the only DCS community that you participate with. If you are interested in joining, want to learn more, or just want to pop in now and then for a flight connect with us via our Discord linked beneath. Any other DCS communities interested in participating in our campaigns, events, or connecting for any other reason are welcome to reach out to us as well. null CLICK ME! https://discord.gg/sySYqKEw2M
  6. Hi all. First time I open my DCS after Dec 19th's patch and my datalink is not working at all, in different missions, some of them I played a million times with datalink always working perfectly. I checked the changelog to see if there are changes in the datalink or something, but I couldn't fin anything about it. Is anyone else having this problem?
  8. Wolf livery that I wanted to do for but couldn't do it because there is no reference picture. I would like to thank Umut Özturk for giving me the reference pictures. 9.
  10. In the attached track file, I launch two HARMs, targeted via the HTS, at a Tor (SA-15) that is being controlled directly by my friend. When the missiles entered the terminal portion of their attack (7-10 seconds before impact), he would turn off his RADAR. To be clear, only one Tor turned on then off. We performed this mission to test whether HARMs fired from the F-16 in HAD will intertially guide onto an emitter if it turns silent. Instead of flying via INS to the last known target position, as real HARMs do, we found that they simply fly off ballistically. This is a well known and critical capability for the HARM - it's bizarre that it has been omitted and, unfortunate that it will likely go unresolved for a long time. Bignewy or Nineline, please see what you can do about this. Track file attached for your convenience: server-20220404-222714.trk server-20220404-222253.trk
  11. ** REQUIRE DCS 2.7 & The Syria map ** Version 0.9 Beta As a pilot of the Israel air force, you are tasked to sink 2 Chinese cargo ships in the Lebanese territorial waters. This mission is fully voiced (dozens of recording), has custom music and automated radio. I would consider the difficulty to be easy. To complete it, you need to know the following: 1. Take-off / Landing. 2. Follow a flight plan thru the programmed steer points. 3. Use of dumb bombs and rockets. Enjoy and please leave comments. It will help for my future missions. Thanks! Mission File https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3316729/ ** INSTALLATION Simply drop the file in your directory [User]\Saved Games\DCS\Missions Scenario May 1985, Shortly after the Lebanon war of 1982, the dust slowly settles between Lebanon and Israel. However, the middle east is more divided than ever and dozens of insurgent groups fight each other in search of power. Syria becomes a nest for insurgent groups, becoming the haven of weapon smugglers and extremists. On May 6th 1985, Mossad is getting tipped off about a huge shipment of thousands of Chinese AK-47 and RPGs heading for Syria thru the Bassel Al-Assad port. These smuggled weapons will be sold to the various insurgent groups, representing a serious threat in the area. The cargo ships smuggling the weapons, named Sheunsh an Awhan, are currently crossing the Lebanese territorial water, heading to the Bassel Al-Assad port in Syria. The Israel military demanded access to the Lebanon airspace to sink these ships, which are a threat to security of both countries. Since Lebanon has no air force and would rather let Israel take the political heat for destroying Chinese ships, it temporarily granted the Israeli air force access to their airspace. On the morning of may 7th 1985, the operation begins. Note from the developer 1. The ATC and radio are fully automated in this mission. You do not need to touch it at all. 2. For the best experience, set the AUDIO option "IN-COCKPIT" to 50%. This will provide the perfect volume to hear the radio. 3. Follow the Flight plan / Steer points precisely for the mission to run smoothly. I have few missions of this type that are quite interactive, but that are relatively easy. If I see that there is an interest, I am planning to release a short campaign. Please leave you comments.
  12. I found this on the forums to check the value of the VHF radio is set to a specific value, apparently this was for the Mi-8. I'm trying to check the same thing in the F-16 now, but I can't get it to trigger. I've tried entering values an int (127), a float (127.00) or string versions of those ('127.00'), but nothing seems to work. Are the cockpit parameter names different per plane? And if so, how can you check which ones are actually used?
  13. Hello, I'm new here, but not to DCS World. My father loves DCS World but one thing pretty much takes away his ability to do many missions that require a hot jet. His game, regardless if it's in the air or on the ground hot setting, is ALWAYS cold and dark. For example, we start him in the air for a quick mission, cold and dark jet. Instant action on the catapult??? Cold and dark jet. I was able to help him get setup since his DCS download was incomplete. It didn't even have a Run.exe program. As far as I know it doesn't have an updater.exe but I can check with him. He's reinstalled twice to my knowledge but the problem persists. What do you guys think it is? Should I just tell him to raise a ticket? Or, since my DCS is doing well, just transfer some main files over to him? Thanks everyone, Sabre65
  14. Is there any page or instruction covering the current damage model of the f-16? I am not sure if it's done properly or just you-get-hit-you-go-boom at the early access stage? Best,
  15. Hey, This will probably be a long post, so please bare with me. I. As a small introduction, I am a helo pilot in DCS. Flying the Huey, Ka-50, had also some fun with the Mi-8 and of course waiting for the Mi-24P and Apache. However I am thinking of changing things a little, try something fresh, and I want to try to get, learn and spend some more time on my first multirole jet, with a similar amount (or more?) of dedication as I do to fly helicopters. Yeah, Im a big rotorhead because it was the helos that got me hooked, and I would like that it would "click" in a similar way for my first multi-role fighter. Because I love ground pounding, but I am also thinking about getting into A2A. As a side note, I also want you to know, that before I wrote this post, I finished the F-15C, Mig-29S and started the Su-27 default campaigns. The reason for that the FC3 aircraft honed my skills a little if it comes to radar, SA and weapons management. It was simply a good training ground in preparation for the clickable-cockpit aircraft, when I felt its the time to try something more advanced. The jets in scope are the F-16 which I already own, and the JF-17 that I do not own. For your information, why those two in particular is that I also own the Mirage, Harrier, A-10C II Tank Killer, F-14, Viggen and the F-18 Hornet. I am mostly a ground-pounder, and I had the most fun with the Harrier and Warthog in the past, before i switched to flying helicopters for like 90% of the time. To explain why other aircraft are kind out of scope for me is that: 1. F-14 and F-18, im not into Navy Ops. I like to take the Tomcat for a joyride sometimes, but that's it. The Hornet does not appeal to me the way how it feels, how it drives. I know it is a long legged plane that can-do-it-all and is a very well developed module, but it simply does not "click" with me. And believe me, I have tried to like it several times. It does not work. Sorry Navy, you can keep your boats and tailhooks. 2. Warthog and Harrier. Spent quite a bit of time on those two and love them, also believe it or not and it might sound funny, but they were the reason i picked up helicopters. And I am not saying this in a negative way, they simply made me realize what I like doing the most. 3. Mirage - Tried it, liked it, but did not get hooked by it. But that was a long time ago and it still does not appeal to me. 4. Viggen - I like it very much, the aspect of burning a trail in the grass with the afterburne, popping up and unleashing hell on targets were fun but in the end, the Viggen is too much of a overspecialized machine for me that requires a lot of meticolous planning. So a no go for me. II. Because of the reasons above, it boiled down to the Viper and potentially the JF-17 Thunder. So below, a bit of what kind of experience/knowledge I have about both aircraft: JF-17 Thunder I do not own it, but watched YT videos about it, read about its history, went through Chucks Guide a bit (and I was amazed about the weapons having around 120 pages...) and truth is I have started to like it very much, although I have never before heard about it and just knew it existed in DCS now. Second thing, even the glass cockpit started to appeal to me in a very positive way. And I think the most important thing, the Jeff was basically a completed module on Day 1, which is something unbelievable. It also made me tune into Deka Ironworks news, where I have heard about the possibility that a Su-30MKK/MKI or a HMD for the Jeff might be a thing. To be honest with you, it gave me the goosebumps. Now, that you know it, a few questions/remarks from my side about the JF-17 that made me wonder if I should pick up this aircraft. Those questions are more about the practical usage, and the way how the aircraft feels to the pilot than dry numbers and systems 1. I love small aircraft, and I know that the pylon layout is quite small, but the ordnance that the Jeff can carry is huge. I do not mind having to think about what to take on a mission, but wanted to ask is it still doable to do a bit of self-escort? Of course depending on the scenario. So here is where the fuel thing comes into the topic. 2. I know the fuel capacity (even with 3 bags) is almost 10.000lbs (correct me if i am wrong) + you get a probe for A2A refueling. However, I wanted to ask, how is the fuel management for longer flights? Lower overall tank capacity does not necessarily mean that the Jeff eats through fuel like the MIG-29 does. Is this true? It would mean that the Jeff is quite fuel efficient and can have quite long legs, despite being able to carry less internal fuel than other multi-role aircraft. Is the A2A refuel a pain? 3. What is your general in-cockpit feeling of the JF-17? By that I mean: - How are the controls? (I use a Thrustmaster FCS 16000m HOTAS) is the Jeff responsive, handles well? ( i heard it has only vertical FBW, but no horizontal one) - Are the HOTAS functions similar or easier/better organized than the F-16 Viper ones? - How does the canopy affect the view and influence the situational awareness in comparison to the bubble canopy of the Viper? My feeling is that the bubble canopy of the Viper is the better one, but the JF-17 glass cockpit displays make them much more visible than those in the Viper. Is my guess here correct? 4. How is the raw engine power of the JF-17? No slouch? Has a "kick" like the Viper does? Is the throttle lagging in a similar way as the Hornet does? 5. The JF-17 feels a bit like a DCS underdog. Its on no fancy posters but is starts to build a name for itself. And I gotta say i like to be an underdog, which the JF-17 seems to offer in a world where Western hardware simply seems to be everywhere... Sometimes I am a little tired of it and caught myself eying more and more the eastern toys. 6. How are the availalble SP campaigns? I ask since I mostly fly single player and like to have scenarios where i use what I have learned. 7. Any other things you thing are worth mentioning? F-16 Viper I will try to keep this one shorter, since I own the module and have... tried it out you can say. 1. My country flies those, so I am kind of slightly biased. It clicks with me, but I am not that much satisfied with the current development stage. However you might be able to change my mind and try it afterall. 2. I love the feeling of raw power in this thing, the engine can really kick and the way the Viper recovers energy is astounding. Is it something that will remain, or something that needs tweaking? (I take here into account that the F-16 is far from being fully complete) 3. I heard the G-Force modeling is a bit pale and is something that hinders the F-16 full potential, because right now it seems that the "pilot" inside the Viper has no resilience. As if he did not undergo training for the F-16. Is this true? 4. I have a feeling that the MFD are less readable than those in the JF-17. Is it true that the glass cockpit is easier to navigate that the one of the Viper? 5. Have not flown the Viper to much, so I have to ask, how is the fuel managment/consumption in comparison to the JF-17? I know the Viper can carry more fuel, but when fuel consumption rate is a factor, then lower fuel quantity does not have to be a hinderance. 6. Any other things worth mentioning to convince me? Summary Thanks for sticking so far with me and reading what I wrote. So now that you know what kind of experience/knowledge I have and what my general preference is, it boils down to the question of this topic. Should I get the JF-17 or stick to the helicopters and give the F-16 more time? I have read in the last news letter I think, that the Hornet is nearing completion and the focus will shift to the Viper. Bugfixing and new additions. But it will still take time and it might be a wise idea to wait. Many thanks for reading once again, and thank you in advance for the feedback. Fly safe
  16. Hi all! In the last few weeks, I've faced an unfortunate complication with the F-16 viper on latest beta. It seems like there is a bug which makes the F16's datalink useless, HSD page doesn't display any wingmans/friendly's without a particular reason. the weirdest thing that this only happens at night time flights as well as especially if there's another client has connected as a wingman/friendly. (except bots, they are displayed fine anytime for some reason). one more thing to specify, I was testing it with some friends of mine and they having the same issue.. I'm afraid but this is a bug that needs to be fixed immediately. meshima_hashait_ (1).miz server-20210620-151040.trk

  18. Hi Everyone, After the completion of the F-16CM Block 50, I'd like to request another F-16 variant; the F-16CG Block 40 circa late 80s/90s, before the CCIP (F-16CM) standard. I've chosen this F-16 variant in particular, because it is both a.) a historical variant suitable for a Balkans/Kosovo conflict (if we ever get an appropriate map for it), but also because the workload required to deliver such a variant should be fairly low at least in comparison to say, an F-16A (though I'd love that one too). Largely identical external model - the only differences being the removal of the JHMCS sensor and a different HUD, there'd also probably have to be a different pilot model. The only other difference that I can think of are the IFF antennae forward of the canopy, but don't hold me to that (AFAIK AIFF came with CCIP, though it's not like DCS models IFF with much fidelity anyway). Identical RADAR, as well as most other avionics: it has the exact same APG-68(V)5 FCR we have currently it has the same RWR (or at least a minor difference (ALR-56/ALR-56M, compared to the ALR-56M we have currently). The main difference would be no Link 16 and no MIDS, it also might have a different IFF system, though again, it's not like that is simulated with much fidelity anyway (though hopefully it will in the future). Identical FLCS and FDM; the only differences being the slightly lower thrust (but only by very little) F110-GE-100 on the Block 40, compared to the F110-GE-129 on our Block 50. AFAIK the F110-GE-400 on the F-14B, is essentially just an F110-GE-100 with a tailpipe extension. Pretty much identical cockpit, apart from the obviously the larger holographic HUD (with the ability to project NAVFLIR imagery from LANTIRN) and monochromatic MFDs though they have identical symbology AFAIK (just its all green, like that Tomcat's TID, instead of being mostly white). There are some other minor differences, namely the removal of the JHMCS sensor and control knob; as well as the removal of the DL and MIDS switches from the avionics power panel, the EHSI is replaced by mechanical one (identical to the one in the F-5E-3 AFAIK, with a control knob to the left instead of the single mode button). The rest of the cockpit is largely completely identical in form and function, the only other thing I can think of is that maybe the location of the oxygen control panel might have moved to be in between the avionics power and anti-ice panels, though the function and switches will be identical. We already have most of the stores and weapons already; just no LITENING, no AIM-9X and depending on the exact year you choose, you might not have AMRAAMs (AIM-120A was in service in 1991, B in 1994/1995 and C in 1996/1997). There would also be no JSOWs. The only other things we're missing are more fleshed out modes for the HARM, it doesn't have HTS compatibility AFAIK, but it would have GBU-24 (+ variants, at least the base GBU-24/B with a Mk84 warhead and the GBU-24A/B with the BLU-109 penetrating warhead). The main addition would be the inclusion of LANTIRN, including the AN/AAQ-13 navigation and AN/AAQ-14 targeting pods; the former includes a terrain-following RADAR (TFR), which can be coupled to the F-16s autopilot, allowing for automatic NOE flight at high speeds, its imagery can also be displayed on one of the MFDs (TFR page); it also includes a navigation FLIR (NAVFLIR), which can be projected onto the HUD or on the MFDs (FLIR page AFAIK); the latter TGP is broadly identical to the one currently present on the Tomcat, with only FLIR (which is lower resolution, with 2 FOVs + a digital zoom level) and a LTD/R (no TV or LST). The one in the Tomcat though is modified (known as LTS) to have an integral GPS/IMU and a ballistics computer, to generate coordinates and provide weapon release cues; now I'm not sure if the base AN/AAQ-14 can do this, though in any case the aircraft's native systems are able to provide this information (which isn't the case in the Tomcat).
  19. JTF-111 is recruiting! Who are we: JTF111, is a US based - Air Force semi-milsim group. We are a laid back community who like to goof off and joke around in discord but we take it somewhat serious in the jet. We are primarily flying the F-16C, with plans to fill some A-10CII seats in the near Future! What we offer: Dedicated server at a datacenter in the Midwest LotAtc server with key Combat Flite mission planning. Custom Liveries OVGME Repository Our Aircraft: Our Primary Focus is the [F-16C] but we are actively seeking pilots for the A-10CII in support for the CAS role. Requirements for Joining: ((Age 18+)) Hotas, Head Tracking (VR, TrackIR, etc) English speaking, and own Persian Gulf, Syria, and NTTR maps. (Modules and Equipment may be acquired within 30days of recruitment) The majority of our Operators reside on the East Coast but we do not have restrictions on your geographical area as long as you can make Training and Mission nights. Our Trainings are currently held on Tuesdays 20:00 EST and our Missions are on held on Saturdays 20:00 EST. We do understand people have lives outside of DCS but we do ask that you give at least 24hrs notice before a scheduled flight if you will be absent as we will need to make adjustments in mission planning, etc. How to Join: Fill out an application at www.JTF111.com, join our Discord, and schedule an Interview with one of our Admins. 20. Looking for a squadron with weekly campaign missions, realistic IADs, a great community to hang out in, and place to learn your aircraft? https://tvalhalla.com Join Us on Discord! Task Force Valhalla was founded as a place for DCS members to fly together in realistic, coordinated operations while minimizing the milsim nature of most DCS squadrons. While we do have ranks, they are solely tied to the proven proficiency in your airframe, and our squadron commanders are chosen by community vote for their dedication in their airframe. We try to democratize as much as possible in the Task Force and have representatives from all squadrons provide input and vote on any changes that affect everyone. We'd like to think our missions are unique, and we hope to get more active mission makers to increase the storytelling and depth available to our members. We currently use HighDigitSAMs integrated with Skynet-IADS in all of our missions, and implement realistic ROE and border patrols. We try to flesh out the ground environment as much as time allows and are experimenting more and more with voiced AIs! Currently we're midway through our first campaign, which is a police action in Georgia as Ossetian and Abkhazian forces attempt to obstruct the construction of a new pipeline in Georgia and unify as the Alanian Republic. Our campaign nights are FRIDAY, 9PM CST with briefing ramping up 30 minutes beforehand. We also have weekly scheduled training nights every Monday at 9PM CST. We just have a few basic requirements to join • Must be 18 years old to join • Must own the F-16, AJS37 Viggen, A-10CII Tank Killer, or Mirage 2000C OR be willing to own LotATC if you'd just like to GCI. • To fly in weekly ops, we require all members to pass a basic type rating in their chosen aircraft. This basically boils down to being able to takeoff, navigate, use the aircraft's most basic weapons, and land. Most people that have been flying the aircraft for about a week should be able to at least stumble through it successfully and you'll have someone who will help you through it. We're more than happy to train you even if you've never flown the module before or are new to DCS! • We have no attendance requirement, but we do require you to RSVP every week to let our dedicated mission makers have an accurate head count so they can tune the campaigns properly. 93rd Tactical Fighter Squadron "Outriders" Commander: Capt. Hex Director of Ops: M. "D20" Shepard Roster Limit: 18 Slots Available: 2 The 93rd Outriders were founded in September of 2020 as an offshoot of Carrier Strike Group 8, comprised of pilots that were looking to fly in Air Force operations with the F-16. The 93rd specializes in SEAD, DEAD and precision strike missions. We currently have 12 pilots on active roster and are always looking for more! 357th Fighter Squadron "Wyverns" Commander: Capt. R. Greyson Director of Ops: Vacant Roster Limit: 12 Slots Available: 4 The 357th Wyverns were founded in October of 2020 shortly after the 93rd. Much could be said about the 357th, but primarily it specializes in BRRRRRTing and supporting our allies armored divisions on the ground. We currently have 10 pilots on active roster and are looking for 2 more highly active individuals to fly weekly with us! 332nd All-Weather Fighter Squadron "Valkyries" Commander: Capt. Kora "Kortana" Director of Ops: N/A Roster Limit: 6 Slots Available: 0 - Recruiting Closed The 332nd Valkyries was founded by our fearless head of mission making Kortana in an effort to bring the joys of Mirage-ing to the masses. There was a noted gap in American time zone based communities for the Mirage and Kortana saw an excellent opportunity to put together a squadron for her favorite aircraft. Although aging and simpler than the F-16, the 332nd has been providing accurate and aggressive CAP for Task Force Valhalla with minimal losses. In the future we expect the 332nd to include the Eurofighter on it's release. F10 Angelholm "Ragnerok" Commander: Capt. K. Sakhir Director of Ops: Capt. R. "Bean" Green Roster Limit: 9 Slots Available: 0 - Recruiting Closed F10 Ragnerok brings the Viggens to a American friendly time zone and is Task Force Valhalla's surprisingly fastest growing squadron. F10 holds the special distinction of providing all of Task Force Valhalla's precision intelligence. Their ELINT missions are the only reason any flight can use a pre-planned target or has knowledge of the precise location of our adversary's mobile SAM network. When not performing ELINT, F10 has proven themselves as the best deep strike package in all of TFV. >>Our Website<< Discord Currently we institute an application process to screen members before they join. We do this because we want to make sure that applicants meet our age requirement, and that our operations actually meet the experience that they're looking for. It's also a good time to ask any questions you might have! Our application process is pretty straight forward: 1. Apply on our website 2.Join our Discord 3. Do 5-10 minute interview with someone from our recruiting team.
  21. Hello Everyone, Just curious if ED ever plans to add the following aircraft into FC3? F-14A/D Tomcat F-15E F-16C F-18C/D/E/G/F F-22 MiG-29M MiG-35 SU-34 SU-50T PAK FA SU-57 Fictional aircraft: MiG-28 From Top-gun! (1986) = Converted F-5E I guess we can only hope for now, but if enough people request it, it will happen! There are some mods that needs to be added in with these aircraft as well as those that have already been released in FC3. Over the wings vapor, yes there is a mod out there, however, it only works on certain aircraft like the SU-27/SU-33 I believe and does not work in IC? If this modder can make it work than Dynamic Eagles should be able to as well! Cheers Mates!
  22. Hey everyone, I WILL UPDATE THIS REGULARLY WITH WHAT I AM WORKING ON NEXT Just making a quick post to inform all the Viper drivers that I have started a more advanced tutorial series for the F-16C in DCS. So far, I have gotten through the start-up, which is by what I have seen one of the most accurate and detailed videos on starting up the F-16C, I also just got done with a Taxi and Take-off video and I am currently working on the landing video. I am going to do a separate video going over more advanced portions of taking off and landing (i.e., taking off and landing with an asymmetric loads and belly landings). The videos I have currently made have already gotten a good reaction which is why I am making this post. My videos are aimed towards beginners and are even for people who have been flying the F-16 in DCS since release but even if you have been flying since release you might still learn something new. If you watch any of my videos, please feel free to correct something that you feel is incorrect or feel that it should be added. I know there are a bunch of tutorials and I have just about watched them all and none of them go into as much detail as mine, so I feel that what I am offering is new and refreshing especially if you want to operate and fly the F-16 to as close to its real-life counterpart as possible. So, check out the link below if you want to. DISCLAIMER: I am not a real-world fighter pilot by any means but due to my job as a Weapons Troop (AKA: Load Toad or 2W1) I have the amazing opportunity to talk with real-world fighter pilots of F-16s, F-15s, and even the F-22 (current jet I load on) and F-35. This opportunity allows me to cross reference a lot of info to make my videos as accurate as possible but yet easy to follow for even the newest of FNGs. 24. Hi! Still noticing that the CCRP marker moves during rolls and is greatly offset when you actually reach the target. It works fine with a TGP since you can reset it, but with no TGP it's way off and very hard to get back onto the stpt. This was supposedly fixed in last patch, but it still remains an issue. Any updates on this?
  25. Are you looking for an F-16 Mil-Sim Squadron without the insane time requirements? We may be the squadron for you! The 457th Virtual Fightin' Spads are recruiting. We offer our members a realistic squadron environment (Stan/Eval, Training, Scheduling, Tactics, etc). We have created training syllabi for multiple courses and more on the way (Pilot Initial Qualification, Pilot Mission Qualification, 2 Ship Flight Lead, 4 Ship Flight Lead, Instructor, Evaluator, etc). About Us: We are the 457th Virtual Fightin' Spads, a Mil-Sim Squadron flying the F-16C in DCS. We are committed to providing our members with a professional and fun environment to fly in. All new members must pass Pilot Initial Qualification and Mission Qualification before being Mission Ready Wingmen. While this does serve as a right of passage into our ranks, it also ensures that we are capable of flying missions in online servers. Once our pilots obtain Mission Ready status, there are several other training courses we offer to keep building skill and gaining responsibility. Our operations are based on real world USAF Squadron Operations with training, stan-eval, tactics, scheduling, and snack-o (still trying to figure out how to do this one ). We are based across the US, although we will accept EU members, we may just not be able to fly together as much. Unlike other Virtual Squadrons in DCS, we do not have a time requirement for members to stay active. Once you join you may fly as much or as little as you like. We are not affiliated with the real world 457th FS. Repaints: We currently link to Tehaviata's repaints on the ED website. We extend a huge thank you to Tehaviata for his work! Requirements: We ask that all members be: 1. Over 18 years old (exceptions may be made). 2. English speaking and own a mic. 3. Own a legal copy of DCS World and the Eagle Dynamics F-16C Module 3.a Recommendation: Own a copy of Persian Gulf and Syria. 4. Own a joystick or HOTAS system. Recommended: Own a VR or TrackIR type set up. 5. Respectful of other members and their time. Time Requirements: None! Fly as often as you want. Discord: https://discord.gg/fvs79ePb4K Thanks for taking the time to read this post, if you are wanting to join as a member, we look forward to seeing you. If you are a representative of another squadron interested in coordinating with us for events, please join our Discord and let us know, we have a channel dedicated to coordinated ops. - Mustang
