Can we please have AGM-88 HARM SP mode integrated on the Fulcrum? Why? Coolest thing I've ever saw. OK, I admit to doing the same in DCS... just get the SAM - like a @currenthill Panstir to lock on me and I fling the HARMs in SP mode.

https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3328191/ All missions take place in various regions of the Caucasus map. A series of quick missions (Most take 3-10 minutes though 'Advanced' and 'Expert' missions may take longer), designed to help Viper pilots practice their systems workflow, refine their key binds and HOTAS controls, axis curves, and employment proficiency with a variety of both air-to-air and air-to-ground weapon systems, Air-to-Air refueling, as well as some more advanced scenario based training, that will test your flying abilities while expanding your Viper skills. These are designed to be quick and hassle-free ways to practice selecting the weapon systems, picking your modes, options, ripple patterns, etc. in order to ingrain good muscle memory and habits so it becomes second nature when flying real missions. If a mission has a live threat present, it will always be noted in the mission briefing. Missions are broken down into 5 categories for easy navigation: - 'Fun' - Just that. Fun scenarios, doing silly things, to just enjoy flying the Viper. No stress. No threats. - '.Basic': Essential skills for new pilots. Landing, formation flying, spotting, etc. - 'Weapons' - Threat free environments to practice weapons employment. The bedrock that this mission pack is built on. - 'Advanced' - Scenario-based training. Live threats may be present. Read all mission briefs in full. - 'Expert': - High level scenario-based missions. May contain multiple types of live threats and/or difficult flying conditions. Limited use of F10 and labels. Read mission briefs thoroughly. These are not tutorials. I include some helpful tips here and there, but there are no step by step directions telling you how to select and employ the systems required. These are practice missions. A basic understanding of the jet is required. (Though they could be useful if you're following along with Tutorial videos or checklists.) There is a briefing accompanying each mission letting you know your airspeed, altitude, situation and overall objective. The F10 map, Labels and Active Pause are available in all missions, except for Expert level scenarios. NOTE: If you have any version older than v.2.9.1 it is strongly recommended that you delete all old missions and download the latest version. DCS OB v2.9 broke some tanker communications and this version reverts to 'easy comms' to alleviate that. Additionally, you'll get all the new missions as well as numerous quality-of-life improvements and reworks. *********Most Recent Update: *********** **MOST RECENT UPDATE**: v3.0 - December 3rd, 2023 **New Missions Added** - Fun: Viper Carrier Landings - Yeah, you read that right. Show those Navy pukes that Vipers can land on boats too. (Yeah, we actually can.) - Expert: 'Two Dogs' Refuel - Inspired by true events from Dan Hampton's book 'Viper Pilot', this is an emergency aerial refueling situation. There is no margin for error. Link up with the tanker or die. For AAR experts only. **Mission Improvements** - .Basic - Beginner Formation Flying - This mission has been reworked a bit. Different location in the Caucuses, more gentle turns, but objective is the same. Formation flying. Learn it, live it, love it. - Advanced - Low Level CCRP Strike - Objective remains the same: conduct a low level precision strike with high-drag bombs. Now includes a second client aircraft armed with 12x MK-82 Snakeyes, and a second target following the first one, so you can get more repetitions done in a single playthrough, and practice configuring for bomb release & intervals when loaded with more than two bombs. /End changelog Includes the following Categories & Missions: Fun: - Airshow Demonstration - Marianas Tanker Shoot - Carrier Landings Weapon systems: - AIM-9M Sidewinder - AIM-9X Sidewinder High Off Bore shots - AIM-120C RWS Mode - AIM-120C TWS Mode - CBU-87 - CBU-97 - CBU-103 - CBU-105 - GBU 10 & 12 (Single mission for both.) - GBU 24 - HARM - HARM with Datalink - IR Mavericks - TV Mavericks - JDAM - JSOW - Mk 82 & Mk 84 unguided bombs (single mission for both) - Mk 82 Snakeyes - Air to ground guns & Unguided rockets (single mission for both) - Air to Air Guns - Maverick Boresight Practice Basic Skills: - Air to Air Refueling - Cold Start & Takeoff - Cold Start & Takeoff at Night - Air to Air Refueling (Easy comms, no external tanks) - Visual landing: low light & fog - Visual landing: clear night - Visual landing: clear day - Visual landing: rain and light wind - Instrument Landing System (ILS) Practice - Ground Moving Target radar - SEA Mode - Beginner Formation Flying - Spotting Practice: Air to Air - Mark Points/GMT Radar Employment - TNDL Datalink Advanced Skills: (All BFM Scenarios have a randomly selected enemy jet with a random skill level.) - Air to Air Refueling (No easy comms/Tacan required, external tanks) - Air to Air Refueling - Night (Easy comms, labels on) - BFM - Neutral - Fox 2s. - BFM - Neutral - Guns Only. - BFM - Defensive - Fox 2s. - BFM - Defensive - Guns Only. - BFM - Offensive - 2v1 Guns Only. - BFM - Offensive - 2v1 Fox 2s. - BVR with AWACS - BVR without AWACS - DTOS Mode w/ CBUs (No Threats) - DTOS Mode w/ CBUs (AAA & Manpads present) - CCRP Low level toss bombing attack - Bad weather low altitude Maverick employment - Low level CCRP Strike w/ Mk. 84 HD or Mk. 82 Snakeyes; your choice. - Wild Weasel: SA-2 - Wild Weasel: SA-10 - Wild Weasel: SA-3 - Wild Weasel: SA-6 - Wild Weasel: SA-11 - Wild Weasel: SA-8 - Wild Weasel: SA-15 - Wild Weasel: SA-5 - Wild Weasel: AAA & MANPADS - Sustained Formation Flight - Sustained Night Formation Flight - ILS Landing Approach - Dust Storm (Huge thank you to Mulder76 for creating this one!) - Flameout Landing Approach - Fight the Phoenix Expert Level Scenarios: - 'Two Dogs' Refuel - 500lbs of fuel remain. Some scenarios involve MANPADS and enemy helicopter threats. Now has three available client aircraft armed with either IR Mavs, TV Mavs, or GBU-12s. - On The Run - Search and Destroy on enemy HVT fleeing via speedboat. So I have been doing lots of digging as I am trying to make some accurate missions. First question, does anyone know whats the run down on the VSN A7? I see that some people have had it, but it seems like there is a bunch of politics behind the model. I also see that Hawkeye60 made one, however the cockpit only shows the HUD, and only few liveries. Lastly, there is a Russian one on user files, but its a mess of files. Has anyone gotten that to work? I just figured there would be more people wanting one considering its history and operators. Secondly, it seems like HARMs that used to track radars from VSN planes no longer track right. They will star off like they are going to hit the target, however they either go wide left/right, or overshoot the target. Does anyone have a fix for this? Lastly, the VSN F4E will destroy itself when shooting off Sparrows. Is there a fix for this?

In the attached track file, I launch two HARMs, targeted via the HTS, at a Tor (SA-15) that is being controlled directly by my friend. When the missiles entered the terminal portion of their attack (7-10 seconds before impact), he would turn off his RADAR. To be clear, only one Tor turned on then off. We performed this mission to test whether HARMs fired from the F-16 in HAD will intertially guide onto an emitter if it turns silent. Instead of flying via INS to the last known target position, as real HARMs do, we found that they simply fly off ballistically. This is a well known and critical capability for the HARM - it's bizarre that it has been omitted and, unfortunate that it will likely go unresolved for a long time. Bignewy or Nineline, please see what you can do about this. Track file attached for your convenience: server-20220404-222714.trk server-20220404-222253.trk

missing info AI engagement with HARMs
Eagle7907 posted a topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
I'm sure this is something somewhat incomplete, but very hard to ignore. I'm playing a campaign mission, which involves my flight being a SEAD role. All aircraft in my flight are armed with HARMs. My own engagement with the HARMs go without a problem. When I tell my flight to "engage air defences", all three break formation and fly the opposite direction of any targets of opportunity. They eventually just enter their own orbit and eventually give up and rejoin from about 60-80 miles away, of course using full burner. Something is seriously flawed here and makes SP SEAD flights a waste when there is more than two targets needed to be destroyed for a strike package to succeed. -
investigating Sparrow LOFT HOTAS command overridden by HARM
Wesjet posted a topic in Bugs and Problems
[Potential] Issue: When flying with AIM-7 sparrow loaded and selected as the current weapon, and HARM on board, the CAGE/UNCAGE button no longer toggles the NORM/LOFT mode of the AIM-7 Sparrow while in A/A mode, unless the HARM is manually set to PB via HARM DISPLAY. Wondering if this may be related to HARM OVERRIDE. Reason being, HARM OVERRIDE is unboxed (allowing HARM take-over) when in A/A mode and it cannot be re-boxed. Returning to the DDI menu and selecting HARM DISPLAY, and then changing the HARM to PB mode (thereby not leaving A/A mode) returns function of the CAGE/UNCAGE button to toggle Sparrow NORM/LOFT. Conditions: Aim-7 Sparrow as current weapon A/A Master Mode HARM loaded on any pylon HARM set either SP or TOO mode via HARM DISPLAY (remain in A/A mode) Supporting Files: Track attached Mission file attached FA18C_Sparrow_LOFT_Toggle_Bug.miz Hornet_Sparrow_LOFT_Toggle_HARM.trk -
Hi guys, Recently I was retraining the hornet HARM, under TOO mode, when my own aircraft is locked by a radar, the HARM mode was automatically switched to SP mode, I tried to push button beside TOO, but it jumps to SP mode very quickly. Just wonder if this is normal or a bug? As I don't think it used to work before. If this is normal, what if I don't want to attack another radar emitter other than the one that locked me. Thanks.

This problem also occurs after landing and re-arming. Basically after either the evolution in the title or after landing and re-arming the HARMS are rendered inert. I have done the following checks: Made sure the dogfight switch was centered Switched between NAV and AG Master Modes several times Toggled Master Arm on and off and back on HTS is SOI In range with a good signal, level 2 The HTS will lock up the offending SAM site just fine, It turns red and it looks like I can shoot it but it doesn't work. This ONLY happens under the following conditions: I have landed and re-armed/re-fueled and did NOT move until I got the re-armed complete notification I have used SJ to jettison my center tank, I assume it would happen if I jettisoned anything but I am not 100% sure

So sorry to do this to y'all. I have googled it, I have watched the vids. I went through Chuck's guides. HARMS on station. ME mission I created, flying toward a Fan Song site. I start in HSD (right MFD). Power on pylons left/right (for some reason not on in air start ME). Hit AG mode from ICP, make sure Master ARM is on. Wanting to go HARM HAS mode. I end up at SMS page, no HARMS listed. nada. If I go into inventory, they are there, but I cannot select them from the OSB's relevant to them. WPN page shows OFF. I cannot turn them on. I have removed all weapons from all stations except the two HARMS to try and trouble shoot. I know it is something simple, but I have literally spent 3 hours on this collectively. I even watched WAGs video on HARM in HAS. Appreciate any help, no matter how dumb I will feel afterwards.

This might be a user inflicted bug as I'm still quite new with the F-16. I do have an issue with the first target, the EWR 55G6. When following the instructions and entering the radar into table 3 (102), the instructions tells me that I should see a s for that radar and select it. Instead I see an u. I've tried several times and even looked in the HARM tables to make sure I'm putting in the right code, but no joy. When I try firing, the missile will eventually crash in the ocean without hitting a target. I have no issue with the second target though

Yes please in the next beta update, slide in the AGM-88 HARM as it's now an official Ukrainian MiG-29 Fulcrum weapon. Be so awesome even if I could only fire in "Self Protect" and/or "Pre-Briefed" mode.

Since I have way too much time on my hands, I made another LUA edit that allows you to mount the AGM-88 HARM onto pylons 8B and 1B for the F-14. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3324643/ Based off of this series of tests: Changelog: V1.0 - Initial Release V1.1 - New file structure that no longer requires an update after new patch drops which changes Weapons.lua (less work for me yay) V1.2 - Updated for OB 2.7.17.29493. V1.2.1 - Zipped with OvGME so you can just drag and drop the zipped mod into your DCS mod repo (zipped folder no longer has the version number in filename). V1.2.2 - Updated for OB 2.8.3.37556. V1.2.3 - Updated with HB weapon loadout limitations. V1.2.4 - Hotfix to actually make the TARPS usable. V1.2.5 - Updated for latest DCS patch (as of 2024-03-05)

Setting up an airfield attack/escort mission for the Ka-50 with a TOT HARM attack with F-16s. SA-10 site with supporting SA-15 & 19s will require a saturation attack but I can't seem to be able to get the AI to fire more than one HARM at an emission source before picking and firing on another target. AI F-16 with 4 HARMs. So far I have tried Attack Group and set the release quantity to: ALL - Does not work 4 - Does not work Split task between two advanced waypoint actions and set release quantity to: Half & ALL - Does not work 2 & 2 - Does not work Finally, I made 4 waypoints and set the release quantity to 1 for each and that didn't work. I have repeated all this testing with Attack Unit as well. Making a Group attack does nothing and the only workaround is to add more flights that are not part of the same group. The only thing I can think of is that the AI will not fire on an emitter that it has already fired a missile at (if that missile is still in that air). Unless I'm missing something?

1) Will FD (Flight Director) mode be implemented for dropping bombs? 2) Will there be additions to the AGM-88 implementation? For example indication of multiple codes or something else? 3) Will there be additional modes for launching unguided aircraft missiles? 4) Last question, in general, what is specified in the road map is all that will be added/corrected/implemented at all? Or is there hope for some implementable features outside the road map?
