After months trying to land the Mosquito while not breaking something. I found a solution. It works great in multiplayer! Leave the gear up and belly land. Very survivable. Then ask to be repaired.........re-arm, re-fuel, take off. Works great! My way of saying I give up.

Hallo, iam trying to get into the mission editor. Currently iam trying to make an ai ch-47d cycle between two airbases. I want the ch-47d to land, wait for a few minutes and then start again to do the same at the other airbase, repeat forever. Currently iam only getting him fly from airbase a to airbase b with landing, but at that point he just stays at the ground. How can i finish this task? Thanks for help!

Training Mission 05 AJS37 Training Visual Landing modified
djacd posted a topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
Hello, I've modified the Visual landing training mission for anyone who wishes. CHANGES: Added voice over - instead of reading the instructions. (English only) Modified the text instruction slightly for clarity and brevity add a couple of small graphics fixed the error in that you are NOT landing a Kutaisi as stated in the text but Senaki-Kolkhi Minor stuff I know but the speech really helps To install it either load it as a mission or if you have administrator rights, copy it to your eagle dynamics installation folder, c:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\AJS37\Missions\Training\ (or what ever path yours is) If Heatblur wants to add it 'officially' I have zero objections. Enjoy, 05 - AJS37 Training visual landing.miz -
Hi, there~ Recently I encountered a problem which cause landing success rate drop by around 9 percent. Im not familiar with the collision model shape of the tail hook and arresting cable. After several attempts after this problem. I change my aircraft landing pose by pushing the stick just before landing on the deck. Ofcourse the AoA would be smaller, but it seems the arresting cables are all properly caught by the hook. Could anyone tell me the right landing AoA control making the tail hook catching arresting cables, without just running through. I was keeping the AoA indicator in orange getting about 8degree AoA. Appreciate the help in advance and looking forward to any suggestion~

Hi, i am currently practicing VFR break landings in the F-18. I am following the rule that during the break, the G's should be 1% of airspeed (3.5 G's for 350 knots). It always makes me end up around 0.8nm from the airport, which causes me to always overshoot the runway on the final turn. Is there a better way to do the break?

I’ve flown WWII flight sim’s since 1996 and spend the majority of my “sim time” flying, as opposed to engaging in combat. I recently started to work through the Spit’s “instant action” missions and the one that has really got me stumped is the “Landing” mission using the Channel Map. My problem is that in perhaps 90% of my landings the Spit’ rolls along nice and smoothly (after landing) and then pitches forward into the ground … with no braking on my part, and with my joystick pulled fully back (to keep its tail down). I do occasionally pull it off but the aircraft still tips forward and then tips back with a big thud !! I’m interested to know whether others find this (Instant Action) mission such a problem (for a pitch forward/prop strike) and if they don’t, is there a little trick that I’m missing?

Hello, I would like to make a request, that they add the external lights of the AOA since all the other planes work like the f18 or the f14, and I would like the su 33 to work also to completely simulate a landing and also make very good ones you catch too

hi, I am doing the VFR airfield overhead pattern landing, I set the TCN, fly in, I press Cage. I do my turns. Ok, being a newby my approach is one where I can be proud off... but I land. However I never get the end speech with well done, mission successful. I guess I am missing something. What besides setting the TCN, Press Cage and land do you have to do?

I worked on the AH-64 for 20 years starting with the A model and now I get to try to fly the damn thing. I got the take off and hover down, but landing has turned into a crash and burn issue. Any suggestions

When I do researches on F-5E tiger's Landing video records, I found most of the "tigers" will do a nose up Aerodynamic Braking, in this video the voice over said 10 degrees (?) But I found it's really hard to do it in DCS, even I tried to touch down very Gently, the nose gear will "Strike to the floor" within 2 seconds, just like there is a force that pulling it down. ( I double/hundred checked my brakes are off ),TRACK INCLUDED DOWN BELOW , but yet I'm not a professional, and I'm lack of documents to proof it further, maybe you the one can provide a little help. PS. the F-5E must need moooooore LOVE F5LAND.trk

The Hornet is my go to Aircraft i flew it a lot before the Update and of course after: I noticed that the AOA suddenly goes up between the Ramp and shortly before Impacting on the Deck. It looks strongly like a Ground effect over the Carrier for me. I tried to use different Power settings in close and still this happened a lot and always with the Same LSO Grades: TMRDAR or/and 3PITW and even when I've flown almost a perfect approach this happened and gives me a One or Two Wire. Even though I add power and the Ball on the FLOLS is centered. The 3 Pointes in the Wire doesn't make any sense cause when I fly in the right angle I shouldn't get this and sometimes the Replay and my Buddy's confirmed me that it doesn't look like this either. So I asked my friends if they can try the Hornet as well, and they had all the Same effect happening to them. I Wonder if this is a bug or it should be like this?! Cause I watched a lot of RL Recovery Videos and this doesn't seem to happen there. We tried different Wind and Speed settings of the Carrier: this seemed more prevalent when the Wind is stronger but still happens with less wind and more Speed of the Carrier. The Reason why i think this is du to Ground Effect over the Carrier is: That the Plane feels kind of Floaty, Nose goes Up, AOA goes off even when its trimmed out and power adding is constant. That's all, hope that this is not a issue for a lot of People but i think it is worth to mention. Have a good Day, Greetings Sky

1. Uncontrolled AI Huey that has a Start Advanced Waypoint Trigger, once activated slides on the ground like it has no mass. 2. AI Infantry doesn't follow the waypoints consistently - can often run in completely the opposite directions and won't stop within over 100m of the end point. 3. Helo set to fly to and land at an airport and land on a specific parking slot. It flies past the the airport and goes to a completely different one and then won't even land there but just floats about doesn't do anything further. If you can't build a mission and rely on waypoints or a helo to not slide into a house, or that a unit will actually enter a trigger zone, then how can we build a mission?! AndTheHorseYouRodeInOn.miz

What is the trick to land tomcat smoothly? I know they use standard glide path with 13 units of AOA (I have to check again, I know the standard is 14.5), trimming AC didnt really helped me in order to achieve it, I can do it by light tomcat, under glide slope approach and super extra smooth touchdown which is not practical, so what is the trick inorder to keep the nose up? the boards are out, Flap is fully down, Spoilers are not engaged IRIAF Tomcat Landing.mp4

Don't go under 200 knots ... Not me. Just saw Dora loose wing (just outside gear) colliding Spitfire and happily fly on. On second thought took out the video. Real person may not like being publicized. A valiant attempt at landing. Lost control just after gear out and getting slower than 200 knots.

Hi Developers, Is there any way possible to have the AI planes rollout on the runway longer ??? It seems so unreal seeing landing aircraft coming to a full stop before the first runway exit. The roll out time needs some adjustment to different types of aircraft with different weight classes . I have added a track file using 3 different types of ai planes, and all 3 do the same thing. Also i added some video's of the same aircraft from DCS to show the different rollouts. Mirage : C-17 : E3 Sentry : Kind regards and thanks, RWC. Runway roll out test.trk

I'm practising landing in fog and chose Batumi. ILS powered on and set to correct Batumi Frequency ILS. However when I approach the runway the vertical ILS yellow line is always to the right of the actual runway and not in the centre. Is this a bug or am I being stupid and missed something?

I am currently trying to build a campaign that contains the following models all as AI, HMS Invincible & AH-64D Blk 2. In the first campaign en-route to the carrier I get the pleasure of watching the AI Apaches land. Or so I hoped. They fall through the decks on landing and promptly explode. Did some digging and testing and found that if the carriers lights are on and its evening/night, the AI apache falls through the deck upon landing and explodes. During the day and with the lights off, the Apaches touch down without issue. I also noticed a weird AI behaviour on the night track only that causes one of the Apaches to not land. Included are both track files and the original Miz files they came from. Has anyone figured out a work around so we can take-off and land on a desert terraine like on the Persion Gulf Map? Or even a dirt field somewhere. Cold starting on modern very large airfields is a real pain. Taxi for a mile! No wonder people give up on warbirds. I see there is a invisible farp, however I can not use it for warbirds. Surely, there must be something? If a invisible farp can be made for a helicopter. Why not a invisible dirt strip for war birds?

Hi. Yesterday after the patch our squad started a bit fool around with Warbirds on Gudauta AF. I set 18m/s crosswind and we practiced landings. We took several planes, and there were many landing gears broken. Most warbirds were able to perform a pretty kangaroo-style-landings but jugs tend to...Explode instead of breaking landing gear. Is it connected with lower ground position of P-47 after last path? Belly landings seem to be quite safe , but lowering landing gear is a risky business, and a bounced landing looks just as safe as shaking nitroglycerin bottle. Can you please check if it's a bug or (god forbid) a feature? @Edit: In case of any doubts, just try to land hard enough to bend a landing gear. P-47 will explode. @Edit 2: Tailwheel spring & damping effect seem to be totally removed in MP. It's as stiff as the parrot in Monty Python sketch... With my best regards Kermit WW2WELT_Wrony_training_caucasus_20230414.miz

Hello, I did a few landings with a crosswind for example 25 knots(30 knots is maximum, the book says ) pretty often the F15E crashed after touchdown and made a roll and lost the Wing. I used the typical technique for X-Wind Landings a Decrab with Aileron into the Wind and Rudder against and I have tried it even with not this technique. I did same X-Wind landings at same conditions with the Tomcat and F16 and the fighters never loosed a wing. The F16 is I think harder to land at X-Wind because the Falcon is smaller and the Tomcat is harder too fly in my experience. I hope you can rework this I would guess it is a problem with the landing gear even the DCS F15C has the same issue. Best reguards

Hi all, I think, if it´s possible with the engine that DCS currently has, that the animation of the Hornet landing, or even the Tomcat, the airframe shoult bounce more. I think the landing animation is always linear. Who´s with me? Thank you. Best regards, F.
