Good Evening, Apologies in advance if this isn't the proper forum for manual discrepancies. I believe there is an error on page 420 of the current DCS manual (Updated 18 July 2023) or I'm just confused and reading things wrong (50/50, honestly). Figure 234 on page 419 (attached to this post) references the rings as follows: Outer ring: Non-Lethal Threat Band Middle ring: Lethal Band Inner ring: Cortical Band On page 420 the accompanying text contradicts this by stating: Based on my test flights I believe Figure 234 on page 419 is the correct implementation and the wording on page 420 just needs to be updated to reflect that. Found weirdness. Didn't want to clutter the "Bugs and problems" forum. A sticky to collect all DCS manual "problems"? Page 24. Both rudders? Aileron stick travel is asymmetrical and identical with elevator stick travel? -
When OSB 19 and 20 are pressed and the scale changing option is currently automatic the radar should change to manual scale changing option and perform the scale change associated with the pressed OSB. Currently presses of OSB 19/20 in automatic scale option causes the radar to remain in automatic scale option and the range change to be rejected. F16 scale OSB press in AUTO.trk -
Hi I was explaining laser bomb delivery to a friend of mine and noticed there is discrepancy between cockpit and manual when it comes to fuze settings. Manual page 215: How to Use Laser-Guided Bombs in AUTO Mode 5. Set MFUZ to OFF and EFUZ to INST Also page 216, Figure 83. LGB UFC CODE is also outdated it seems. In cockpit, the MFUZ shows for GBU-24 only, but the above pertains to the Paveway II Series, as GBU-24 starts on page 217. NoMFUZ.trk

In the newest version of the official ED manual, the MIDS DDI format was added with a text saying that "This format will be documented in a later edition of this manual." This seems to be a new addition, earlier versions of the manual didn't mention this page at all. Does this mean that ED are planning on implementing in depth MIDS configuration options and this DDI page or is the addition to the manual only refer to the fact that the functions on the page (which as far as I know currently have no functional effects and are only for roleplaying purposes) will be detailed later on?

Основные понятия о вертолёте и MPD , а так же самые "интересные" процедуры боевого применения пушечного вооружения и ракет Хеллфайр помогут Вам проще найти в английском руководстве необходимую информацию , до выхода официального игрового РЛЭ на русском языке от ЕД. С вопросами по поводу понимания оставшейся не переведенной части руководства или уже переведенной части, естественно в эту ветку форума. Разгрузим основную ветку модуля на форуме от специализированной информации. связанной с РЛЭ. Возможно, в будущем сможем частично ознакомить фанатов модуля с переводами из оригинального руководства. В предложенном экспресс - переводе уже есть информация из TECHNICAL MANUAL. Удачи в изучении очень сложного, но и очень интересного и необычного модуля для DCS.

[PROJECT HALTED]Planning on creating a guide that aims to contain more realistic procedures and better system descriptions than already existing F-16 guides/manuals. This would be a guide for people who are interested in learning the F-16 deeper than other guides/manuals currently do. An advanced operation guide you could say. It's not supposed to be a true to life super detailed manual as those type of manuals already exists. The guide I would be making will contain advanced startup, takeoff, navigation, landing and shutdown procedures, while also having detailed system and switch description. The guide will also be aimed towards new ish players. People who know the FC3 stuff should be able to use this guide so that knowing the contents of the DCS:F-16 manual is not a requirement for this guide. The guide will most likely not contain advanced weapon systems or weapon delivery procedures, as that would require way more time investment from me than i am willing to do right now, but perhaps as time goes on I will add those stuff as well. The guide will most likely at first only contain information on how to operate the aircraft realistically in a non-combat environment. However the guide should be completely relevant for anyone interested in combat as well, just that the guide itself won't be covering those areas. What i am trying to achieve with this post is to see how much interest there currently is in a guide like this. If anyone’s interested make sure to let me know and it would also be great to get some recommendations about content that should be included. TLDR: I am making a more advanced/realistic guide for F-16. The guide is going to be aimed at people who at least know the basic FC3 stuff and who are interested in learning the F-16 to a more realistic level of detail than what other guides/manuals offers. If there is interest in such a guide, please give recommendations about what contents to include in the guide. Have safe flights everyone! -
Bug or not. Manual states: Nothing happens when clicking (left or right button) but gyro adjusts with mouse wheel. Manual erroneous or push-in feature missing? Tag as "Directional Gyro" (tip popup and ADJUST CONTROLS naming differs).

"OFF" position is non-existent graphically in game and in manual. Did it exist in real life? If not, delete "OFF. Disconnecting the fuel supply from external fuel tanks." line from manual, page 62. Would being able to shut off auxiliary tank separate from not selecting it on "Main Fuel Selector Valve" make sense design wise? Picked in-game-name for tagging: "External Tanks Fuel Selector Valve". ed/add 20 may 2021. Added obvious generic, extremely useful tag "drop tanks", resisted, for now, adding "external tanks" tag

In the last few days some of you have probably noticed that there were a lot of new people who wanted to try out DCS through the f2p event. Of course, there were always questions about the individual modules, but it seems to me that most of them are not aware that the manualls exist. When they find out about it for the first time, they don't know where to find it. I would therefore like to ask ED to give us access via the main menu. It is certainly somehow possible to add a "Manuall / Doc" section under which you can access the individual manualls of the modules. The following pictures show how I imagine it all and what it could look like. It would definitely be more user friendly. This is how it could be to take a look into the F-5 manuall

Can I view the manual before the module is released? Unfortunately I can't pre-order it on Steam. if I buy it here in the shop, will the manual be available right away or will it only be available at launch? Thanks Aero1995!
