We follow a SOP that is written with the help of real pilots and follow real training to have realistic deployment and carrier cycles. As having a modern approach, we use the CJS superbug mod and have even done some tweaking with the growler to have electronic attack. DCS is a big community and choosing a place to settle down can be hard. There are a lot of groups out there with each having their own culture and standards of flying. As you are reading this ask yourself what you want out of a DCS group. VFA-211 is a DCS Strike Fighter Squadron that is dedicated to getting as close as possible to real world Naval aviation operations. VFA-211 is dedicated to training its members to be the best of the best. We pride ourselves on flying like real Naval Aviators. We also love Naval Aviation and Naval operations. VFA-211 offers a unique experience in that we capture the culture around Naval Squadrons. We’re a tight knit group of like minded people that act like a family building each other up. We are devoted to making an authentic and realistic experience. We are often classified as a military simulation (mil sim), but what does that exactly mean? Well, our definition of mil sim is that we strive to get as close as we can to real-world operations within the limits of DCS. VFA-211’s members have a lot of experience in a wide range of tactics and procedures. Our members are devoted to helping one another accomplish the goal of creating a realistic experience within DCS. Mil sim does not mean you have to greet people and say sir, but we do have a chain of command and ranks to identify members and their respective contributing roles. VFA-211’s motto is “Work hard, play hard”. We feel that if you put in the effort that’s what you’ll get out of it. So is VFA-211 a good fit for you? What do you want out of a DCS group? Here are more questions that you can ask yourself. Do I have a passion for flying and naval aviation? Do I enjoy Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and reading/ abiding by them? Hi All, I believe this is my first time posting here so I hope I got to the right sub-forum! Anyhow, I've been playing DCS for a few years now and I absolutely love it. My problem is that the way I play is by generally finding a public server to hop onto like one of the 4YA servers and just do my own thing. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to find someone who wants to fly with me on there, but its hit and miss. So now I'm looking for a mil sim group to join and have fun with. Although I feel quite proficient with the F-18, and F-16 modules, I still feel like there's a bunch of stuff I need to learn. and I haven't even touched "proper" communications procedures, so I would need to learn that stuff, hence why I have stated that I am looking for a relaxed group. I'm all for going full immersion but I feel like I lack a fair bit of knowledge that some mil sim groups might expect from the start. So in an ideal world, I'd also like to have members willing and able to teach me how to better use modules. The 101VFS is a Carrier based Milsim group. This squadron operates all available Naval and Marine fixed wing aircraft. The missions we fly on consists of CAP, SEAD, DEAD, CAS, and Anti-ship operations. On training nights we focus on anything that needs improving. On Ops night we put it all together. The goal for us is to learn the in's and out's of our aircraft of choice, down to the emergency procedures. While we are not a full blown realism unit, we would still qualify us as MilSim. Our playstyle is set up for people who want to fly a realistic campaign in DCS without joining a full blown realism unit. You will be expected to talk on the radio relatively correctly and to take the scenarios seriously. We will not have a rank structure nor a chain of command. Mods are simply around to moderate, not to boss you around. Before joining the Campaign please pick an aircraft you are willing to fully commit to. This should be an aircraft that you are either willing to learn or are already proficient in. This aircraft should also be something that you are willing to fly for the main campaigns in the group. Due to the nature of DCS we would prefer people to stick to an aircraft. That being said, there will be opportunities in fun events/side missions for people to fly other aircraft, as well as different campaigns that may require different aircraft. You will not be allowed to fly in the campaign unless you picked an aircraft ahead of time. Before playing the campaign with us you must complete a check flight. This is not a daunting task and we don't want to fail you. We just want to know that you are confident enough in your airframe to fly in a mission. We require an attendance rate of 2 Ops per month. If you do not meet this rate you will be removed from the group. There are obvious exceptions to this such as family issues/a college class that got scheduled for that time. We are not expecting you to sacrifice your real life for this group, but you joined the group to play, so play. People who have just joined and have not passed their check flight have 1 week to at least attempt a check flight (if no one can do your check flight in that week for some reason an exception will be made) if you do not pass this check flight, the week resets. DCAF(Digital Coalition Air Force) is proud to announce that it is taking on Strike Eagle recruits to join us on release! Following years of excellent service, VF-31 will be retiring the venerable F-14A Tomcat to convert onto the F-15E Strike Eagle. As a fully staffed squadron, we want to hit the ground running, bring in new energy to our community and have you join us in this exciting new chapter. The VFA-41 squadron roster is limited to 12 pilots. The squadron will never get bigger than that. Black Aces roster slots are valuable and reserved for carrier pilots who will get up and fly, not for those who might fly if they can find the time. Each Black Ace is a critical member of the team, and missions require each to be ready to fly and fight in order to meet mission objectives. Expert pilots need not apply. VFA-41 does not seek expert pilots. The only requirement is that you have to want to fly, and be prepared to fly at least once a week. If you can't (or don't want to) commit to getting into your plane once a week, Black Aces roster slots are reserved for active pilots. IMPORTANT NOTE: If you're looking for a squadron that will add you to their roster immediately when you submit an application, you should apply to one of the huge squadrons. VFA-41 does not operate like that. You will not be just another faceless name automatically added to an infinite roster with dozens of other members. Our goal is not to have the greatest number of members, but rather the have the right number of dedicated pilots to support ongoing missions. Applicants will be invited to interview with the CO and XO. VFA-41 does not offer trial memberships.
