I fly the MiG-15 pretty much exclusively and have many hours in it. Sometimes I can only set the gyromagnetic compass once, after which I'm stuck with the (potentially) wrong heading the rest of the flight, for instance when I let go of the fast slave button too early. Any time this happened, I had already built up a large track file, so I never submitted any.

Like most of us I fly for the realism (to a certain extent) that a simulator can bring, especially DCS... I like warbirds, but seriously! Even the pilot (indestructible obviously) is as strong as the plane, the dashboard too and the AI flies normally! Other remarks, I do not speak when we must make an emergency landing (with all aircrafts) that leaves no trace on the ground of the slide.... on IL2 1946, it existed, I remember, the dashboard could be destroyed.

Hi, With every update it seems Petro is getting more and more buggy. The bugs that are currently happening quite consistently for me: - Petro losing lock on a fired-at target for no reason (smooth approach and clear sight) and Petro will suddenly call out 'Missile missile'. Even though he should not be able to see those while in scope and there is no missile other than his own ATGM. - Petro misidentifying targets (spotting friendly as enemy) - Getting no audio tone when Petro has locked onto a target and you are aligned with the pipper. For me, I am still able to fire regardless of no tone, but others have reported they could not fire (even though they had not damage and did not break the gyro) - Petro missing A LOT in general, even vs stationary bigger targets like a Leopard. I understand he might miss a flak gun, but a big tank while having aa 99% smooth attack run? This video shows 3 of the above bugs in 50 sec. (Petro missing 2nd shot, petro calling missile 2nd shot, and no audio tone with pipper aligned). Less than 2 min before this he misidentified targets: The picture added shows him seeing the barracks as enemy and truck as friendly, they are all friendly (it's from the same sortie and trackfile): Trackfile of this specific sortie has also been added. Is the flare animation ever going to be fixed?

Hi all, After quite some time, I decided to upgrade to Windows 11 last evening. Until then, DCS was working perfectly! Now, when I launch DCS, I get the NVidia page, and then the process ends... Anybody know what the reason for this could be? Many thanks! George

My DCS WOrld app was working fine until a couple of day ago when it now crashes on startup. Once the it starts and I click on the Authorization failed text box (for the F/A -18C which was a trial only) the program closes. Have tried a repair without success and nothing else has changed. Any suggestions other than a reinstall the game? Thanks

Hello pilots, I made a little python scraper that grabs stats from SoW web site and spits out .csv file with all the players' guns, guns hits and gun kills from the last 12 days. I uploaded the .csv file [sow.csv] resulted after running the script, together with a picture [see below] of the total results per gun. Credits and many thanks to the owner of the site. S! I find the numbers for MK 108.. disappointing. At least 8 rounds per kill on average is a too high number to reflect the real data. I hope the devs would find these numbers as odd as I think they are, for all Guns actually, and make the proper adjustments to the DM. Feel free to comment... 10x

There seems to be a recent bug with fix point aligning where the shark is unable to get data via the shkval method. It worked fine before the 2.9 cycle. The shkval is also unable to target lock the ground (street) at least in most of the cases. This was doable pre 2.9. please give this a look. I think providing a .miz might not be necessary because it is any file. I will provide one nevertheless if needed of cours. Thank you.

I have been flying the JF-17 for a couple of years now and one of my favorite weapons to use is the LS-500. for some reason after releasing the bomb it just falls away and doesn't track. This is after waiting at least 5 minutes for the bomb to Aline. I have used this bomb more times than I can count and never had any issues. Also this only happens on the open beta version the stable version they still work fine.

I had a flight of two MiG-21s fly a mission that included a LandReFuAr waypoint, but things went awry. They takeoff, fly wherever, land back at their home base, park at two adjacent hangars, and power down their engines. So far, so good. After a few minutes, they start up again and begin taxiing towards the runway. This is where things go wrong: while taxiing, the two jets collided with each other, breaking the nose off one of the jets. They then sat there on the taxiway, immobile. This link should show the incident https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198026935985/screenshot/2457349553668886100/

I'm writing an "interceptor" Lua script, for air policing and such, and it works very inconsistently. What it does is it allows a pilot to fly up to an AI aircraft and perform an intercept signal (rock wings and/or flash external lights). This causes events that can be interacted with by the mission maker, but the default behavior is for the AI aircraft to "follow" the player aircraft. The script simply pushes a "Follow" task to the AI task stack. This has turned out to work very inconsistently. I have had several situations where I've been testing it and it works. Then, suddenly, it just stops working. Pushing the task to the AI does nothing. There is o following at all. Nothing in the dcs.log. I have not found any pattern to why this can suddenly stop working. Does anyone have any ideas?

sorry for the novel but I play single player a lot and am frustrated. I HOPE I’ve got something wrong here. I get that the AI warbirds have a simplified flight model; BUT, from what I understand, the AI aircraft systems DO take damage. For example, you can take our the engine. I’m GUESSING that the systems are modeled to enough detail that I can put rounds through the radiator and the coolant will leak out. My problem is that the AI aircraft don’t seem to NEED any systems - such as an engine or coolant- to continue flying. I can’t count the number of times I have unloaded half a belt of 20mm into a BF-109 until it’s trailing black and white smoke, only to later observe it still flying around. Or watch a AI plane with a non-spinning propeller continue to fly around for 20 more minutes. flew a liberation mission today. Hit an JU-88 with my .50s (P-47) until both engines were smoking. I continued on (thinking it’s dead) and emptied the rest of .50 cal into a BF-109 while watching pieces fly off until black and white smoke poured out. The BF-109 dove for the deck and I thought it was crashing. Nope. Pulled out and continued to fly around when, after about 15 seconds, the smoke stopped. His wings were Swiss cheese yet he continued on. I left. Ten minutes later, I observed he was still alive on F10. F2…and there he is, little buddy just cruising around. So, I flew back to base (passing the SAME JU-88 gliding around with props not moving) and ended the mission 20 minutes later. Got no credit for a kill. Checked the track and both the damn things were STILL FLYING!!! (20-30 minutes with no prop and about 50% wing) Just seems like the engine doesn’t care it doesn’t have coolant for a loooong time (if it ever cares), the plane doesn’t care it doesn’t have an engine and the wings don’t care more wing is missing than remaining. Is there not a way to make the RESULT of damage taken more realistic. or am I missing something?

I'm not up to speed with post-MT known bugs. Is this a known issue in single player? I only witnessed the behavior with WW2 planes so far but then I only ever flew multi-ship in 2024 in Dora, nothing else. https://youtu.be/1QmMLgnIYEU https://youtu.be/zIa19sFH0TE If a track is needed I'll grab one later.

See attached YouTube link below. During a recent multiplayer, multi crew session (me in the CPG seat of the AH64D and my friend in the pilot seat) we were hit by a SAM. My friend didn’t have any indications that we were hit (still able to fly and all systems working) whilst for me, as you can see in the video, all displays died, EUFD indicated that engines had failed and to top it off, the rotor came to a stop (only for me) yet we were still flying! We also both had a CTD prior to this occurring. Side note: performance is a lot better, especially Syria.

Ai Petrovic has a problem if he loses his aim and goes behind the terrain. If something else appears near his line of sight at that moment, he continues to lock on to that new target without letting it know he is pointing at another target. This is how I selected and confirmed an Apache (NOT the yellow helicopter item) in Ai Petrovich, which flew behind terrain. Normally Ai would report losing the target (spinning right), but this time Ai did not break tracking, and started tracking and homing in on Kamov (spinning left), which was between the Mi-24 and the Apache. It was in multiplayer, the footage is here (time 13:28:00) https://drive.google.com/file/d/19A8SUtv53AOuCq30PJCYUkgwZgNDomDA/view?usp=drive_link Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

In general looks great, water jacket hit, but the white smoke trail sometimes looks a bit weird like the speed of the plane does not relate to how the smoke looks, looks like train puffs of white smoke, Here is an example of a Dora hit IRL, the hit looks very similar to what we have in DCS, but the rest of the smoke, the white trail comming of the cowling in DCS looks diferent, like if the plane was going a lot slower, puffs of smoke coming out.

The collision damage is as important as the damage model and with the introduction of multithreading support I think it's about time to be properly modelled.

Has anyone else noticed that nothing seems to happen to burning aircraft? I was shot down by a 109 that was on fire and just kept flying, so then I tried this myself. I've been able to just keep flying and if necessary land aircraft that are on fire (which of course then denies the kill). This is clearly unrealistic and means that you cannot just leave an aircraft once on fire and assume that it will go down. So today tried another experiment. Was attacking B-17s in a 109 and was set on fire at 8Km. Continued flying back to base with the 109 on fire. Nothing happened. When it ran out of fuel from the leaks, the fire stopped and I started gliding. Gas

Hi all, Scenario - 2 ship of either hornets or vipers (makes zero difference) set to travel to waypoint X where the ROE changes to designated only and the attack group action is given. Target is either an SA-6 or SA-11 or SA-10. AI won’t fire on an inactive SAM site as we know so they are set to red state. ISSUE - AI will not fire unless target is exactly 47nm or less away. 48nm? No. 47nm? Yes. I chose three different Sam sites to test individually to see if it was something to do with detection signal of the larger Sam’s etc but that makes no difference. Despite target type, AI altitude, speed, heading and if the Sam site is in a valley or open ground the AI will not launch greater than 47nm. 47nm is fine for SA-6 and SA-11 but not the SA-10 as it has an approx 70nm launch range. Is 47NM the max AI launch range?

Not calling this a bug, I assume I just don't know what I broke; I was landing at a site about 7500', air temp was around 0*c, anti-icing running, cabin heater, pitot, clock, and battery heaters running. Ice warning still came on but no obvious effect on performance. Landing unremarkable. Sat light on wheels for about 5min. When I went to take off again, I noticed all fire warning lights were on, both overhead and on dash. No suppression discharge, no visible fire on external view. Generator failure lights also on. Aircraft still functioned normally, took off, conducted another landing at 10,000'. En route, I popped the suppression bottles but the lights remained on. Returned 30nm to starting point, landing normally at 500'. Any ideas what I missed that might've caused a false warning? Or was there some sort of fire bug that has no effect?

I finally updated to Windows 11. When I try to run DCS, the program loads and gets to the picture of all the airplanes. When the picture disappears, nothing happens. It's like it just stopped. Any one have a fix for this? I run both the "Good" DCS and Open Beta. I uninstalled OpenBeta and reinstalled it. Now Openbeta will keep asking me if I want to copy all mods from the normal version but stops after copying.
