Since the numbers of assets I've created is starting to grow considerably, I've decided to reorganize everything for your sake and mine. This will be the thread where I post information about releases of new and current assets. And I'd be happy to get your feedback on them as we've done so far. I appreciate you mentioning any issues you have, or ideas or new assets to create. To avoid confusion I will be decommissioning all my other threads. All the assets are available in one place with information about version, download link, size, stats and changelog with just a click.
  2. MASSUN92´s ASSET PACK MOD -- DOWNLOAD IT FROM: HERE! - Who I am? Hi to all! My name is Patricio Massun, I'm a 3D artist and architect from Argentina. My job is mostly related to arch visualization and asset creation for renders. I use this mod to practice some lowpoly, game-ready, real time rendering technics. I use Blender for all my work. All the models of the mod are created entirely by myself and the textures are from ambientcg (old cc0textures.com). All the export process is based on the EDM exported made by Tobi and use the tutorials from Grajo (Without them the mod would not have been possible). - About the mod: For those that don't know, the mod is an asset pack with a wide variety of elements (statics objects and drivable vehicles) that are created with the idea of adding immersion to the sim. In the beginning I was modeling some stuff to create some FOB´s, but I add more and more elements related to airfields, FARPS and more. The mod receives updates time to time (depending on my interest to model a new stuff) and I am always welcome to petitions for some model (but to make it needs to interest me -- sorry guys but all these are related to enjoy the process for me). The mod is totally FREE, but the contributions always help to keep the development of the add-on. But what I prefer more than a dollar is to see what people make with the mod and maybe a good comment about it (or a constructive critic). - What is incluide on the mod? v3.0 (03/2024) Re-done of almost all assets - a lots of changes to write here. -- You will find almost all assets on: statics -> fortifications. Lots of them has liveries check them out! -- The vehicles that can be driven IRL, are drivable (CA needed) in the asset pack. You will find them on: ground units -> unarmed -- You will find the crew´s on: ground units -> infantry / and on: statics -> personnel -- All elements as _dst version. Feel free to put a GBU12 on any of the assets -- Some elements are removed from the asset pack and some other change their name. That will make incompatible with older versions. Sorry for that! -- Personnel and lights will no longer be supported on the main asset pack (I´m working on a new ground crew -- you can have a little snapshot of the progress with the drivers of the vehicles of the asset pack) ... BUT for the moment, I provide you with a second pack with all humans and lights. You will find two links to download stuff when you access to the content. -- Even better things will come in the near future. 2.3 (12/2023) Last update of the year!! - Hope all of you have a great 2024 All the new stuff is made to fit 70´s to 90´s look --- I´m waiting to use this stuff with the F-4E NEW! Generator (electricity and air) AM32a60 from the USAF 1.0 Conteiners (blue, light blue, green, tan and dobles with 2 variatons) Outpost (super HD version of the original outpost of DCS) Road Outpost A Road Outpost B Military tent A Barrier (closed and open) Sandbags (line, "l" and "C") Hesco Barrier (simple and doble) - How I install it? 1 - Go to the download page: here! 2 - In the right side you will find two "products", choose "MASSUN92`s ASSET PACK" 3 - Type "0" if you want to get it for free (if you want to contribute choose another value.. like: u$s1.000.000 or something similar) 4 - Click on "buy" 5 - Extract the rar file inside of C:\Users\--*YourUser*--\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\Tech (if there is not a "Mods" or "Tech" folder just create it with that name) - How to use it? On the Mission Editor you will find some new elements named: "M92_", all these elements are part of the mod. Some of them are located on the ground units - unarmed vehicles. That vehicles you can control them with "CA" if you choose "Player can drive" option. (I´m in the process of re-made some of them with super cool and realistic interiors for take some really cool shots for videos/pictures) You will find more asset on the "statics" objects. They are on the categories: "deck equipment" / "structures" / "personnel" If you don't want to populate every airfield on every mission you can create a blank mission, populate your favorite airfield, save it and use it like a templete (importing the enterally "mission" /aka templete to the new real mission). I recommend select the "hide" option to all the elements to avoid a lot of icons on your screen when you are creating a mission. - Things to have in mind: · Most of the first elements to be added are made without lods (level of details) because I wasn't able to make them work. So, I keep the vertices count suuuper low for all of them. The newer elements have proper lods, so the quality of the models is better, and the fps impact is less. I don't recommend adding hundreds of elements and don't expect some fps drops. You need to test on your machine the impact of the scenery. ·You can use "remove scenery" option to remove some buildings on the bases to add new elements to the airfields. ·Most of the models have their own destruction models... some other don't. I will add them "innn the futuuureeee". ·There are some lights that you won't be able to "see them" but they work at the night. Are very cool to illuminate airfields, farps and more. The main difference with the standard lights on the airfields is that these illuminates the exterior models of the airframes. But they don't illuminate the cockpits (limitations of DCS -- I don't test them on PG maybe with the new light system of the map they work there... who want to test it?). The direction of the lights matches the direction of the arrow when you place them. And you can download a Incirlik templete from the same page where you download the mod. · Some of the elements are not aligned to the direction arrow when you place them... sorry for that (rookie mistake) - Why opens a thread? I open this thread for a couple of reasons: First, I think that some people are afraid to all the stuff that are not on the forum of ED, so here we are. Second, I need proper feedback that gumroad/facebook groups don't bring it to me and I think that the mod can gain a lot of from the community interaction. Third, I NEED HELP! Project Lancaster for DCS We plan to bring the Avro Lancaster to DCS, Beginning with the Mk3 and hopefully covering other variants including the special variants responsible for the Dam-busters raids on the the dams in the Ruhr Valley. We dont want to state any time window for release as the mod is still far off and we want to get it right without having to skip steps to meet a set date Progress Checklist: Bomb Aimer's Station: 90% Pilot's Station: 80% Flight Engineer's Station: 95% Navigator's Station: 95% Radio Operator's Station: 70% Front Gunner's Station (Bomb aimer operated): 60% Mid Upper Gunner's Station: 30% Tail Gunner's Station: Not Started About the Mod: We plan on having a full multicrew aircraft capable of fitting a full 7 man crew. We are currently working to get the flight characteristics for the Lancaster nailed before moving onto systems and other parts. I've been working on this for a few months now and although it's still incomplete, there are a few people using it and I think it's in a state where I'm happy to share with the wider community. The primary function is to make it trivial to install liveries (see the video below). In addition to this, it can also automatically share liveries with other people. Liveries: The appearance of the AB-212/AB-412 should be constistent on the complete fuselage. I include 2 real live AB-212/AB-412 liveries which are tuned with spec maps so they match the AB-212/AB-412 attachments relatively well. It was the best I can do, others may have more knowledge to make it even better. See the description.lua how the different colors of the attachments are configured according to the UH-1H livery. 4. JSGME Specular Map value replacement: In order to make the AB-212/AB-412 reflections and metal surfaces look consistent between fuselage and fuselage attachments (see screenshots provided), you need to tweak the games original AB-212.json file. Most of the people have done that long time ago already to remove the unrealistic reflection appearance. I recommend strongly to use JSGME to install the MOD-folder "UH-1H Spec Map Mod" to remove the UH-1H unrealistic shiny effect. With JSGME you can restore the original setting anytime with one click. CREDITS: This mod was inspired through the work from Upuat, EightBall and some chat with Lvergara. I used some snippets of lua-scripts from each of these authors and modified them for this project. The Assets were modelled by me, the AB-212/AB-412 parts were taken from a basic royalty free cad model and modified by me. The example liveries included were published by AWACS_Bandog and tango down565. EightBall proveded some immediate improvement regarding texture organisation and livery configuration.   9. This Elytra Mod is an entertaining, overpowered, fun and fictional mod. It does follow some general rule of a delta wing design plane but still, it will be just a mod for fun. It’s still in development but I hope posting it on forum earlier would gather some idea. YOUTUBE LINK DISCORD LINK Requirement: FC3 / F-15C What Elytra can provide? 3D THRUST-VECTORING You could practice with the quick mission F/A-18-Ace-dogfight. An ace AI F/A-18C would pull you into an AoA fight which you could make the best use of TVC You could switch mode in FCS page to toggle Pitch/Yaw/Roll TVC separately. Sometimes you only want the Pitch TVC. In order to make the plane less UFO, the plane is made for not stable in stall. Don’t pull too hard while doing a post-stall maneuver. It takes time and practice to play with TVC. Cobra, falling leaf maneuvers are can-do with Elytra but a mistake could lead to unexpected spin like a kite out of control. THRUST TO WEIGHT RATIO This plane can accelerate vertically under 20k feets Thrust may be too strong, and need tuning. Max afterburn could pull you out of trouble usually, unless it stalls too close to the ground. Touchscreen cockpit Elytra use a touchscreen clickable cockpit I'm glad that the development of it is going well! High angle maneuver It does not have an AoA limiter as you can easily recover the plane with TVC and strong thrust. You would easily stall in turning tight as a delta wing would slow down the plane very easily and you would face too high AoA. Even without TVC it still can achieve high AoA. You would stall around 45 degree AoA Very hard to fall out of the sky as the plane usually would recover itself if you push the throttle with the nose down. Super-cruise ability You can achieve 1.25 Mach without afterburner at altitude Mach 1.25 with afterburn at sea-level Mach 2.5 with afterburner at altitude Not so useful Fly-by-wire Still tuning. You could override the FBW system at the FCS page. It would help in level flight. Model weapons compatibility 10 Hard points for missiles Superb dogfight abilit EFM flight model doesn’t mean better than SFM. It just means I can mess around with the flight model and make thrust vectoring possible. The lift and drag are calculated by component separately. If you snap a part of the wing you only lose the lift drag from the part it snapped. A fair RCS for a modern fighter Custom HSI Waypoint, airbase, markpoint could be shown on the screen. Fully HMD The HUD is integrated into HMD. Custom advanced EW You can see how far is the missile incoming EW filter (SAM, AIRBORNE, SHIP, MISSILE) 360 degree of angle sensor but still having some blind spot Check six warning Cockpit WIP Only BVR mode is using F-15C. ACM mode are implemented with custom avionics code. With the custom avionics you can now acquire air targets and ground target by the HMD. No more FC3 control. Two mode auto throttle (ATC) Damage Model I didn’t work on the damage animation. No bullet holes but the wing would malfunction if it gets hit. It would snap by parts if it’s taking too much damage. Overwing Vapour Limited A/G ability (CCRP / CCIP )! Cluster bomb, iron bomb. Guidance not available right now but laser guided weapon might work with JTAC Ripple bombing setting available. See the effect of 12 x CBU-97 ripple run below TODO: Better stall behavior Custom radio I have not yet worked on the cockpit. I prefer to build a simple cockpit showing all the mfd screen and publish it. Maybe I could seek permission to use the cockpit of an existing mod as I’m not a good 3D builder… Will work on it when I consider the flight model is acceptable. This is a one man project so don’t expect the work progress would be fast.   12. This little package contains a Bell Longranger L3 type helicopter model with some liveries. This is only AI and has only some basic animations, PBR textures and no damage model or weapons. It also has some model and texture fixes to be made, but it takes forever and so I thought I might as well release it before waiting another 6 months...I made this for myself to gain/improve some skills in 3D modelling, texturing and lua scripting, and because I like to get more civil Helicopter OPs into DCS. Tested with DCS 2.7.8. I noticed there was no good thread combining all of the Chinese military mods that are out there for ease of finding, so I've spent a good while digging around and putting together this compendium of all relevant mods I could find. There's a LOT more than I initially had expected, although a lot of it has been coming out quite recently, with lots more still in the works (thanks to the hard work of @currenthill @cao990 @meimingzi123456 @prccowboy and @Admiral189).   19. Howdy, I have been working on making my first mod for DCS for the last 2 weeks, decided to go with the Nike Hercules launcher and Missile. So far I have been able to create the Missile and Launcher model within blender with animations on the launcher that works (roughly) and have been able to get those models exported in EDM format and working in game replacing the SA-2 models. I then started to work on creating the custom mod folder for my mod and getting the lua files set up working with other existing sam mods and their lua codes. All the lua code just to get it to run is done and in the mod folder but I am stuck at the game not wanting to launch if the mod is in the mod folder so somewhere the code is broke and I have not been able to get any help from the DCS forms or on modding discords. Because of that, I am releasing my models, blender files and broke mod file for anyone to work on and play around with. It's pretty basic but the missile still looks cool in game. Supermarine's last hurrah is equipped with 4x30mm ADEN cannons, as seen on the more famous Hawker Hunter and EE Lightning, and four underwing pylons with provisions for AIM-9B Sidewinders, AGM-12 Bullpups (not planned for this mod as of time of writing), 4,000lbs of bombs, RP rockets, drop tanks, and a buddy refuelling pod. A ranging radar lights the way for this monster of a subsonic low-level strike aircraft in dogfights, and the Blue Silk nav/attack system guides you home to the welcoming deck of a RN carrier.   23. So I have been doing lots of digging as I am trying to make some accurate missions. First question, does anyone know whats the run down on the VSN A7? I see that some people have had it, but it seems like there is a bunch of politics behind the model. I also see that Hawkeye60 made one, however the cockpit only shows the HUD, and only few liveries. Lastly, there is a Russian one on user files, but its a mess of files. Has anyone gotten that to work? I just figured there would be more people wanting one considering its history and operators. Secondly, it seems like HARMs that used to track radars from VSN planes no longer track right. They will star off like they are going to hit the target, however they either go wide left/right, or overshoot the target. Does anyone have a fix for this? Lastly, the VSN F4E will destroy itself when shooting off Sparrows. Is there a fix for this?
  24. I've been putting some effort on improving all FC3 aircraft, including the Su-25T. These improvements mostly involves removing excessive rust and paint peeling that these old textures have. Which I find quite unrealistic, as they are clearly made from photographs taken from museum pieces that most probably than not have been neglectled for years and got many folks touring in and messing stuff. There is also some gameplay improvements, like the Shkval texture change, that aliviates some of the problems with visibility it accumulated along the years with the game's graphics updates. With this change it get a bit more on par with the Ka-50's, but still not quite there.
